People need to realize that hair has a growth period and a dormant period. If you are getting trims during the dormant period, you are not going to see growth. To recognize when your hair growth period begins monitor the hair growth under your arms. If you are sprouting hairs there (days after shaving) you are in a growth period.
Club One Casino Shows you do not understand the hair cycle. The reason the hair on our bodies are not as long as the hair on our head is because our hair in those areas have shorter life spans- meaning they shed out faster then the hair on our head. However, your hair growth is the same in all areas of your body. If the hair on your legs grow quickly. It means you have fast hair growth. If you don’t see that growth on your head, it simply means you are NOT retaining length. Try taking better care of your hair and you will see improvement.
Denise Morris but he hair is usually straight these days. I guess she means for the period she was growing her hair she was using limited heat but now that it's long she straightens as she wants
Nikki Chanel I definitely think avoiding heat makes my hair grow, I just hit waist length. But my hair is always straight. I straighten my hair every 2 weeks and I do not flatiron it again until I wash it again after the 2 weeks and flatiron again
Omg a Natural & Relaxed Hair video. Not in a negative way, but in terms of what you have noticed between the two like moisture retention, growth, manageability and other things since you had beautiful relaxed hair and now beautiful natural 😊😘
I do all of this stuff. I need to step up my nutrients but everything else you mentioned I pretty much do. I also exercise very frequently. Maybe thats why my hair grows so rapidly.
i massage my scalp with olive oil and tea tree oil and my hair is growing so much we have about the same length i have been experiencing a little shedding lately. i do flat iron my hair maybe once a month and i wear rollers the sponge rollers lol they are like foam im thinking about getting the silk ones though good video i have a NutriBullet so i make drinks that are good for hair skin and nails 😊💜 ps. i love your style so kool and comfy👍
So glad you made this video. I definitely noticed your hair growing and happy to see what you were doing!!! Would love to see a healthy lifestyle video, you inspire me to be more healthy!!
After using argan life anti hair loss shampoo for 2 months I have noticed a thickening on my pony tail. It has also grown longer faster although as fast as I would like to.
Great video!!!! and these are definitely great practices to adopt. I do all of these and always do protective styles. I avoid heat completely until my relax day which is every three months. I too have low porosity hair and this information is so accurate. Using these methods, I was able to grow 6 inches I'm 9 months. TFS
I know a sign of iron deficiency is hair loss, so you taking iron actually might have more of an impact than you think! I know I don't eat as many meats and greens as I should so I might look into iron myself. Thanks for sharing!
Would you consider yourself a heat trained natural? I'm considering doing this option as my hair is now getting longer and I would love to see my length. I'm also wary of damage.
sophiademure Heat trained = Heat damaged! So if you're wary of damage, this option isn't the best for you. Maybe try out wigs or stretched natural hair.
sophiademure heat trained doesn't always mean damage but it can lead to damage. The more heat you use the harder it is to get your curls back to popping. I was heat trained like her for school and it took a month to get my curls back frizz free but no damage :)
Dulceamorati eh it depends on what you define as damage. When I was natural a lot of my curls got looser from heat, but they felt SUPER soft and healthy. They weren't dry or brittle or anything. This only happened to parts of my hair. So my stupid self wanted my entire head to be like that so I purposefully turned my flat iron up and literally FRIED my hair by swiping the plates super slowly and THAT made my hair damaged for sure. It was dry, stringy and matting up. It recovered maybe a year later with a ton of protein treatments and TLC.
You're a life saver 🙌🏾 I love your video and I just discovered your channel. Also my name is Charisse too I'm so happy to have found another Charisse. You're amazing!
At first I threw a little shade, because you haven't uploaded in a month or so, but I'm excited since im trying transition && every wash day is making me want to go buy a ORS No-Lye Relaxer but I'm excited to watch the video 😁
Hello gorgeous this video came right on time because recently i cut all of my hair off and I'm ready to start fresh 😊 oh and i threw away my flat iron and blow dryer no more heat for me 🙁 lol thanks for the tips.
Co-sign on eating healthy. Fruits and vegetables make my hair & nails grow quickly too. When I go on my vegetarian spurts, my students always ask if I have on "fake nails". They also make my skin look more radiant.
Shea moisture products are for low porosity hair I know I use the raw shea butter deep treatment Masque and also the conditioner shampoo and I use the bao bab conditioner and it works really good for low porosity hair also the Jamaican black clarifying shampoo I use that and they're deep treatment Masque as well you can google and find out what other products are good for low porosity hair also the oils this would help you take better care of your hair if you know what products to use. Hope and pray that this helps God bless you❤🙏
I've been transitioning for 16 months & I've gained so much knowledge from you pertaining to working with my low porosity transitioning hair. My question is: I know you use the Shea Moisture jbco strengthen, grow & restore deep conditioner & shampoo, but why not the same conditioner & leave in? I see you use the Shea Moisture low porosity conditioner & leave in instead & im just wondering why because I'm looking for new products since I've just realized I'm low porosity & I would love to know how to be able to determine which ones are best for me
I've had spirulina for like 3 months but I stopped taking it after 2 weeks as I would have it with water. How much do you put in your smoothie? I'm willing to try that
when you have relaxed hair and you transition aren't you supposed to cut your hair like to the roots? how come she has long and healthy hair like this ? (i watched the video😂)
When you cut your hair to the roots, that's called a BIG CHOP, not a transition. Also, a person can transition from relaxed to natural however (and however long) they want to. There's no "wrong" or "right" way, it just depends on the person. Some people transition for years, trimming relaxed ends along the way, and never do a big chop. Charisse has said in prior videos that she only has 1-2 inches of relaxed ends remaining.
I'm glad you went natural, I'm just wondering why you are still using heat? I mean it's a personal choice but even if it's a small amount of heat your hair will still get damaged through heat
I've just passed shoulder length!!
Winnie Pooh 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
congrats
Winnie Pooh hip hip! Hurray!!!
I can't wait until I do. I'm just reaching my shoulders. barely. :(
Winnie Pooh yay congrats !!
Tips:
1. Minimal Heat (NO flat ironing/blow drying)
2. Deep conditioning
3. Nutrient Dense Foods
Thank you
Yes to the healthy eating and lifestyle videos!!
I'm so excited! I love talking about food 😂
that dimple is deeper than my feelings for my boyfriend.... it's beautiful, love dimples.
My hair has been retaining length and thickness like crazy since I cut out heat
Tyiece I never really use heat an still my hair the same length

Tanya Brown OMG that may be true. I will put it to the test and see what the results are.
Jerzeegurl524 me too
Tanya Brown that's so true! I haven't had harley any under my arms. My natual hair has been the same length for 3 years!
Tanya Brown that’s not true.. if it were true our hair under our armpits and on top of our legs would be as long as our hair.

Yass nutrient dense foods!🙌🏼 Eat your leafy green vegetables.
YES! Makes your skin glow too! ✨
Tiffany I'm working on this cause I don't use heat an my hair still won't grow past this length
Can you do a video on your hair routine when working out and how to maintain your straight hair when working out
Your healthy eating and lifestyle videos are coming right on time!
Great tips and information but it's ironic that everyone always says "avoid heat" or "no heat" yet in the videos I see blow dried, flat ironed hair.
Rarely do I assume things about people I don't know. I am guessing she wants to show everyone the length of her hair. That is what the video is about.
Not assuming anything about anyone. Just making an observation of hair care videos. But thanks for the reply.
Denise Morris but he hair is usually straight these days. I guess she means for the period she was growing her hair she was using limited heat but now that it's long she straightens as she wants
Nikki Chanel there are heatless blow dryers.
Nikki Chanel I definitely think avoiding heat makes my hair grow, I just hit waist length. But my hair is always straight. I straighten my hair every 2 weeks and I do not flatiron it again until I wash it again after the 2 weeks and flatiron again
You don't understand how much I enjoy watching your videos Charisse! Glad you're back, I missed you in my subscription feed 💕
Omg a Natural & Relaxed Hair video. Not in a negative way, but in terms of what you have noticed between the two like moisture retention, growth, manageability and other things since you had beautiful relaxed hair and now beautiful natural 😊😘
You're beautiful, your hair is beautiful, your makeup is beautiful. 😍
I'm literally like SHES BACK! Gahhh ❤️❤️
I do all of this stuff. I need to step up my nutrients but everything else you mentioned I pretty much do. I also exercise very frequently. Maybe thats why my hair grows so rapidly.
It's so hard to not use heat but I'm fasting from the flat iron and shopping for this entire month. Doing better with not use heat than shopping🙃.
I started using your deep conditioner and it’s really good. I’ve experienced less breakage.
I'm taking prenatals (pregnant) also using the greens powder from itworks, you can mix it into your water. I haven't straightened in a while.
Please do a closet essentials video and more lookbooks! I love your style so much!

Co-sign on eating healthy. Fruits and vegetables make my hair & nails grow quickly too. When I go on my vegetarian spurts, my students always ask if I have on "fake nails". They also make my skin look more radiant.

Can you recommend products for low porosity hair

Omg i love brussel sprouts too!
Can you please vlog more? I love them.
Do you just air dry your hair since you don't use a blow dryer? If so could you do a video on how you air dry your hair?
Markeshia Newby she do use heat now, but she didn't for the period when she was growing her hair.

How often do you cut your hair?
i think if u were to meet Karruche it would be weird because u look so much like her lol
Missed you sis😍😍💕❤!!!!
What rinse out/detangling conditioner do you use?
Hiii. How to you get your hair "straight" in this video without heat?
Tabara M it's using heat. She posted a flat iron routine recently.
braiding my hair underneath and wearing wigs helped grow my hair long
I am natural and my hair is very short it seem to be forever to grow
I was about to subscribe but then I noticed that I'm already a subscriber lol 😂 😂 😂
Super helpful, as usual! 😀
So glad it was helpful! 😄💕
Is Spirulina sold at the grocery store?
C Ali No,sold at GMC or health food stores.
when you have relaxed hair and you transition aren't you supposed to cut your hair like to the roots? how come she has long and healthy hair like this ? (i watched the video😂)
When you cut your hair to the roots, that's called a BIG CHOP, not a transition. Also, a person can transition from relaxed to natural however (and however long) they want to. There's no "wrong" or "right" way, it just depends on the person. Some people transition for years, trimming relaxed ends along the way, and never do a big chop. Charisse has said in prior videos that she only has 1-2 inches of relaxed ends remaining.
Yannick Dikot her transition is done. This is all her natural hair, it's just straightened.
Are you back in school?
Which camera do you use
Subscribed!!
I'm glad you went natural, I'm just wondering why you are still using heat? I mean it's a personal choice but even if it's a small amount of heat your hair will still get damaged through heat
Charisse, what hair type do you have?
Hey! I have both 3b/3c and 4a 😊➰
