I don't know if you have finished your paddle yet, but the Suwannee enters the Gulf a little north of Crystal Springs. If you and Jen want to check out the Manatees that congregate there in winter, this would be a good opportunity to do so, especially if you have the canoe.
Nothing like below freezing temps to intensify the Christmasy feel, plus one of Santa's elves leaving Christmas wine/beer and other river magic stashed for you. Doesn't get much better than that! Happy New Year's Eve eve.🎉

I seem to recall a few years ago in SoCal there was an unusually rough storm and temps were supposed to go below 32 in Malibu. They had to get on the news and warn people that water turns to ice when it gets cold enough…

Still in Suwanne. We’ll spend the night in White Springs tonight and fly back on the 31st. Sadly not enough time to dive this trip but we’ll be back

I was at the NW Florida coast on Christmas and I saw 4 backpackers. It was at the freezing that is more bearable then the northern trails
