Took The Day Off After "Almost" Getting Hit By Lightning July 13 2024

- yesterday which was friday, at 6:29pm, i was coming out of the house to walk the dogs when i heard the all too familiar "snap" sound which is associated with a lightning strike. i seen the long sideways bolt of lightning and figured the shop got hit again like it did in 2003. i then ran around checking for fire because that is what usually happens when something is hit by lightning. it was not until after not finding any fire with numerous double checking, i decided to check the cameras. camera 2 was not working and it ended when the lightning had struck. my head was about 40" away so i think i got a bit of a shock. after finishing the daily TH-cam video on friday night, that was when my ears started to ring plus a very bad headache too. by 9pm i was laying flat out in the bed for the rest of the night. i woke up to find my neck very sore and hard to move plus my jaw hurting big time. i had troubles doing the saturday morning intro but got it done then spent the rest of the day wandering around to keep exercised or i would seize up. by the end of the day, i was feeling a little better but we hope for a full day of fun tomorrow. thansk

An associate was about eight feet from a crane deck when the crane got hit by a stout bolt of lightning. He had to spend overnight in the hospital. He was severely dehydrated. So you should probably forego most alcohol and drink something to rehydrate yourself. Google it. My second cousin lost his house to a lightning fire. I guess he was at work, not sure, I was either a little fellow or not born yet. Total loss. Burned up his hunting dogs. Never had another dog after that, and nobody took a dog to his farm. A prominent feature of the replacement house was the very tall lightning rods with large ground cables. My late wife had problems in her neighborhood with lightning strikes in the power lines. This caused power outages, and she lost several TV sets. It’s flat there, and the little trees have shallow roots, so the power lines and all your metal buildings are good targets. Take care.
yes we stopped drinking the beverage and focused on being sober incase any other medical problems came up other then the head problems. thansk

Dear KoO, glad to see you've avoided the Grim Reaper yet again. My wife and I were on board our sailboat sleeping when we were struck by lightning. Both the AC and DC electrical systems were fried as well as the radar, depth finder and radio antenna. The boat had to be pulled from the water to make sure there was no hull damage. That cost us the last two months of the boating season. But we learned a few things about lightning! Thanks for fighting through!😊

Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ Holy Crap! I'm very glad that you're able to talk about it Joey, please just rest up and don't worry about videos dude. Coincidentally a transformer was taken out near my house yesterday and I had no power for half the day. Yeah I know poor me 😂 years ago it was thundering and lightning like a mother, I don't know what it's called but I saw electricity snake its way through my parlor right by me. That was interesting. @@kingofobsolete4789 You have been making an important point, we can be standing under a verandah/covered-deck and assume we are safe, but you have had an encounter that disproves that false comfort. When I was an infant, my Mum, during a thunderstorm, was standing in her bedroom and saw a ball of fire about the size of a basketball appear to float through the wall horizontally and into the room about 2 metres and she had enough time to see it happen and get a fright before it just disappeared. She and the wall experienced no discernible damage. Hope you’re feeling better than earlier.

Also, fair chance your welder has some electronic control parts, electronics don't stand a chance in a lightning strike, they're too delicate. Fair chances the major components (generator and engine) were unfazed. Worth lookin into your Highness, we know welders are expensive.
