another day of smoke and sand flies but not too hot temperature wise. consulted with Jack Daniels and did the math on buying new steel for the 1937 Dodge Tribute Truck. since the money tree died and we burnt it in the wood stove, buying new steel to build a hot rod frame was out of the question. the next plan was to use scrap metal and call it recycled steel which seems to be about all we do in the Kingdom. we had the right tools for the job and all the frame rail pieces were cut with the Pro-Point 30A Plus from princess auto today. that plasma cutter has done a lot of cutting and helped us on a lot of projects in the last year. once the light rains came at 4pm, it was in the shop to see how the flat recycled steel will be come the enclosed boxed frame. we did a test on the last 14.5 inches of frame rails using the Hobart Handler 100. the gasless wire had no problems with the 11 gauge green door material we were using. by 7pm we had the end frame rails welded up and smoothed out when the rains stopped. thansk
