- Triumph launched a brand new Speed Triple and the 675 Daytona based Street Triple this year so we got both the motorcycles together with the 2007 Speed Triple to see just how good they are.

I've always had sports bikes, for the last ten years, just sold an 08 R1 and bought a Triumph, so glad i did!!! its re-ignited my passion for bikes, i was bored of pointless 170 bhp missiles on the road,
I bought the Tiger 1050, put some sticky tyres on it and a nice Arrow can...beautiful!!! and so much fun..
Was loaned one of these whilst my 675 was being serviced. I didnt want to give it
back. One of the best bikes Ive ridded. Stability/Power/comfort. My trade my 675 for one of these soon. Riding position reminds me of my old Buell X.
Those are my two favorite bikes I have ever had the pleasure of riding. Can't wait to get the Street Triple as my next bike.
My Street Triple R rides like a dream. I enjoy every minute of it, and definitely my favorite bike yet, BY FAR.
definitely one of the best looking bikes out there.I like its round lights( in my opinion naked bike must have old traditional round lamp(or two in case of speed triple :D)), and overall shape.To bad, that they are so expensive in my country :(.

why the background music?
ride both of them coz they really different. I have a 2010S3 and an frind of mine has a 2010st3. The larger S3 pulls all the time any gear any rpm like a bloody rottweiler. Its gets to fast speeds very fast but can be a bit wild when cornering at high speeds. But once u figure it out its a great and exciting ride, the Street will pull a bit then hit higher rmp and take off like a bat out of hell. Doesnt have the same bruttish pull constant pull of the S3 but is easier and more fun to ride.
I completely agree. I really want the sound, but I just can't get use to the 3-1 exhaust.

Had the 2010 speed triple and have to say it wasn't the softest bike to ride. Seats are like planks.
Very tiring to ride over a distance as the engine was so manic. You have to be in the mood to go nuts or don't ride it.
The 675 is just the same.
Had a Daytona 955i 2002 and that was a different experience. Fueling was spot on, throttle was smooth as silk.
I love the street triple. It screams and looks bad ass.
I'm 6' 4" and I'm riding a street triple (with really long legs). I had the same concerns as you but went for it. I feel completely comfortable on the bike. My brother has the Speed triple, but I like the Street better. It's more agile and lighter.
do you still own it or did you get the Speed?
Would you recommand one for a beginner or coming back to biking after years non practising? I have in mind a Yamaha xj6 but.... I want something with more character than the usual Japanese stuff.

God Damn it, I love the Street Triple
I agree! Fitting the 3-1 exhaust ruins the motorcycles looks. It's a gorgeous bike. Esthetically its very well balanced. Change the exhaust, if you want, but not change its positioning and configuration. Personally, I really dont like the piece, painted in the same color as the tank, covering the lower part of the crankcase (dont know if it is the right name for it).

Street Triple, evidently! Practically the same power-to-weight ratio of the Speed and, because it weights 25kg less, it handles a lot better. Because of the smaller engine, it's more economical and it costs a lot less. I don't even know why Triumph still makes the Speed.
@Hoooang Speed triple is a 1050, the STREET triple is a 675.
People, I'd appreciate some opinions about possible reliability problems with the Street Triple. Mainly timing chain tensioner problems, oil leakage in the head gasket, coolant leakage in the radiator hoses and faulty electronics. Thanks a lot.

Whats the average wage in britian? in aus it's about 40k and the speed triple cost 14k -I just want a comparison
For the low end grunt, it's a much lazier power delivery than the Street and I personally like the single sided swingarm. There's talk the new Street Triple will have a sssa, so that makes the choice between the two even more difficult though

You can have this Daytona for US$ 30,000.00. Thats the reason I love to live in Brazil.

I really wish MCN would learn to not set the music so damn high. I can hardly hear him. I have been playing around with my audio settings but nothing seems to be of much effect.
I have a CBR 1000rr and a 1050 speed triple and the 1050 is much more fun around town.
@saviouroftheuniverse it isn't supposed to be chrome, that's the point.
I will never give my Sv650 up, ever. but I want one so bad Ill con my GF into getting one!
@arsenal741 Oh I don't disagree that the S3 is a far better bike, I just love my sv is all. My woman hardly rides, ill con her into buying herself(me) one. cheers!

odacirsaraoseaia1999 I wouldn't worry about the reliability. If you cruise the 675 .net website you'll find very few issues with the street triple.
My 06 speed triple is bullet proof. I would buy a used speed triple.

I was going to buy one of these but for the life of me i cant get a go on a demo bike ? wtf is wrong with dealers these days
