I feel that same way about video editing, there's so many creative decisions to make, and some days I have that in me, and some days I just don't

Wise words. Balance is an important factor in retaining the love of a process or 'craft' as you accurately describe it. My struggle isn't over writing, it's not writing often enough. I go through too many bouts of self-doubt and the internal voices that remind me that I might not be good enough. Which is kind of silly, as I write for my own personal pleasure, not with the goal of publication.

Yeah, I would try to save the self-doubt for the editing stage. Get the first draft down. That way you have something to work with and can always improve it. If your anxiety gets in the way of first draft, you have nothing, alas.

Well said AJ! I remember wanting to write a novel after the series SGU ended abruptly and after thinking about it for almost a month I realised quickly after I started how much hard work it is. Being creative just isn’t enough, at least not for writing books, novels etc., and yes, forcing yourself to write won’t do you any good imo.
