Tony! Loving your vlogs mate, I’ve watched a load of them recently. I admire the way you go about things and your bravery selling up and going for a retirement that makes you happy. Great vlog. FYI yes China hopes to extend that line all the way to Singapore. But it will take time and new tracks will have to be built because Thailand and Malaysia have different track widths. Also Singapore no longer as its rail line to the Malaysian border ... the Singaporeans lifted the track and closed its single rail terminus.

We went on a hot air balloon in Luang Prabang. Amazing experience. We also have trouble with train tickets and make sure you buy loo roll if you need to use the loos as they don't supply any 😁

Nice guesthouse yes well worth a little more,OTT the security for the train I thought Hope you enjoyed Luang Prabang sights it’s on the tourist trail and I found those places can be less friendly there’s two sides to the coin,your a polite guy but not everyone is,on the flip side always someone trying to earn a few bob extra 😀
Indeed. It's Chinese built and funded. OTT security is just as you would find in China. New Jakarta-Bandung high-speed line, also built and funded by China, has the same security arrangements.

Hi Tony. Maybe when you want to relate to local people, you remove your shades. Some people don't feel good trying to engage/communicate with people who don't show their eyes. Just a thought mate.
