  • Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" and because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally said goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
    And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.
    Please make sure to stick with me so we can explore new exotic places together.
    Let the adventure begins!
    Thanks so much for your support.

    Two more things to add
    Before the opening time of Vientiane station, you can wait at the second floor of shopping area. You can also use toilet there
    The c84 only stop in Vang vieng and past thru phong Hong and kasi without calling
    The price hike in minivan of luang prabang is because of devaluation of laos kip. Laos import petrol with hard currency and it unable to balance the sheet

    Hello great video. Thanks for sharing the conversation with the local people at the stall. Can't wait to make our third trip to Luang Prabang. Actually, do you have leads to get Train tickets from Vientiane? We (x8) will be around Udon Thani for few days before with the family so we don't plan on statying at Vientiane just to get tickets... :). The hotel in LP does not provide Train tickets service... Sabaidee!

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly don't know anyone or any agent that can assist train tickets.
      If you arrive in Vientiane early you still can do the way I did by going straight to the station and book it from there.

    I just got a reply from the hotel and replied that they cant get ticket for us because its difficult for them. We will stay overnight to Vientiane then will try to go to Luang Prabang thru China Railways. Can we get the ticket at the train station directly on the day that we will depart or it has to be purchase the day before? I know I asked you from your previous post.. where is thebticketing office again at Vientiane? I hope you can help, we will be arriving Thailand tomorrow and Laos on the 16th.

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's always better to book the ticket at least a day before, but in your situation you can try to show up as early as possible to the station and just go straight to the ticket counter and tell them you are leaving today. I booked my last minute ticket at the same day, I was luckily that there was seat available. The ticket counter is in Vientiane center near the morning market bus terminal. Good luck

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The rule has changed and for safety reason you have to provide your passport in order to buy a ticket. And it has to have your name on the ticket now.

      @@natnomad That is good, so no more black-market tickets! By the way, how much commission is charged by the Hotel for buying passengers tickets?

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends between 50,000-80,000 Kip. Also not every hotel would do it though.
      It's better to check it on: Laos-China Railway Facebook Page to see the availability. They always keep updated from there.

    Can you do a video about a week/10 days itinerary about Laos ? Do you recommend south of the country ?

    • @natnomad

      The ticket is 242,000 Kip/$14.

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  ปีที่แล้ว +1
