    Brilliant Modeling, and my favourite BR-era as well

    A fantastic layout. Spent many a happy hour or so at exhibitions watching and train spotting. So realistic of North London .

    All credit to your track and point work. Propelling a long bogied train on a curve is a real test. It'd end in tears on my layout!! 😉

    Hello Kier! Not only is Hornsey Broadway one of the best BR layouts I've seen, your videos are of an equally high standard. I like the natural flow of locos and trains (no stalling too!) without any fuss and bother that you see on so many other layouts.

      Motive power shortage in the storage yard after I started filling the depot full of locos! The Hymek was near to hand and is a sweet runner.

    I’ve been looking for an EM gauge layout for ages and this is superb. So realistic and captures that North London feel so well. Congratulations on all your hard work. Just spotted a Class 20, my favourite!

    Thanks Kier. I love Hornsey Broadway layout, I’ve followed it for a while. I completely get where you’re coming from as a boy trainspotting in London during this era and you’ve captured that beautifully. This really has to be my favourite layout on the circuit. All the best.

    Another great video Kier. Thoroughly enjoying the layout tour series. Must have been a Sunday with 3 Deltics on shed. Looking forward to seeing the station area develop further. Was the Hymek for Mike W’s benefit??
    Take care and stay safe.
    Cheers, Bill.

    I completely get the mini slider switches for the T.O.s.. I've done the very same ..But I don't get why you didn't sink them vertically in drilled holes so only the handles are above ground. The hole doesn't need to go all the way through; just make a well for the mini's body..Then just need a smaller hole at bottom of IT for prongs and wires. But I'm guessing you know all this yet don't know why you don't do it.. Because the mini-sliders look bad above ground and on their sides..
    Otherwise, your MRWy work is A1 excellent !!

    A Truely great layout. You say you were a train spotter. Like myself then you probably used the Spotters viewing platform in the Finsbury Park. Any chance of incorporating it ? Maybe on a banking ?

    Kier,
    I see your 'heart' reply.. Thanks.. Hope you didn't mind my little critique. Curious as to what you think, and/or reason for your set up (Poss having to do with it being a fiddle yard, and yada yada.......... ? )

    • @kierhardy2789
      @kierhardy2789  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all :) They're on their sides purely because it's easy to do it that way (lazy?) but also there's a large stretcher beam directly underneath making it difficult to fit them the way you describe, which I must admit would look better.

    The Hazchem placards for road and rail transport were not introduced until 1981. .... The tank wagon at 7:24 is not correct as your layout is probably set a good few years before TOPS - which started in 1975 !!

    How did you make the coaches for the Breakdown Crane, where can I get them

    • @kierhardy2789
      @kierhardy2789  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The vans are featured on this page www.emgauge70s.co.uk/project_cranes.html utilising a Mainline coach and a Maj kit - so some modification required.

  • @RoamingAdhocrat

    they're blatantly exceeding the depot's 5mph speed limit ;)

      That's so evident in the video, not helped by multi-tasking - (cameraman, shunter, driver, points operator all rolled into one).
