- Today we will find out if Hornby's all new Black 5, The Glasgow Highlander will run. The first one of these models I received was damaged and had to be sent back so this video will be interesting. Will the loco be ok or will it be no good? Find out in this unboxing video !
Great review of a lovely model. I'm tempted to get one myself. You are right to be wary of the crank pins. I would check as soon as possible. I have had a model self destruct and those crank pins can be hard to find. Yours is running well. Thanks for showing. Regards Paul.
Glad you enjoyed the video, it is indeed a very well detailed model. So far the rods are all still on and the engine has had quite a bit of running, so far so good. The pins all seem fine, I do agree they can be a pain to track down when they come out. Thanks for commenting.
Great review! Wonderful engi🤩😍
Thanks, glad you liked it.
great video. looks like they fixed everything wrong with the first run "5200".
Glad you enjoyed it. They have made a good job of the tender connection on this version. Also I won't likely be up Palmy for a while as the Britannia is undergoing maintenance.
@@smrtrains that’s. A shame. I’ve just gotten a new model of you would like to review it? I think it’d be a head turner. I’ve taken possession of the new sir nigel gresley.
@@stephendrummond8882 That sounds great, I would be keen to see it.
Nice locomotive and layout glad you got your faulty engine sorted I have this one not yet tested hope it works.???
Glad you enjoyed the video. All the best with testing your locomotive, definitely would pay to give it a visual inspection before running it. Thanks for commenting.
@smrtrains
Will do thanks
Great model but hellish price for a hornby
Glad you liked it and I do agree regarding the price. Hornby's pricing recently has been to high, one reason I have held off buying the Hornby 2mt.
British locos run on the left-hand side of a double track . Looks odd running them on the right.
I like the loco ,apart from the gimmicky over scale lamps that can't easily be changed.
One gimmick too far Hornby
I do agree regarding the difficulty of changing the lamps over. I will certainly be leaving the ones fitted at the factory on the loco to avoid damaging it. It does look interesting with BR locomotives running the opposite way to normal. Every now and again I run them the same way the NZR operates its stock. Thanks for commenting.
