    I just used the guidlines here to build a pc. I went with the i7 13700K, 128gb ram, a 1tb drive and two 2tb drives, the 3060ti gpu, a Noctua NH-U12A cooler, and a Phantek 500 case. the only issue I ran into was the motherboard which would not work with a 13th gen cpu without a bios reflash. This thing is an absolute beast, I can't beleive how much faster it is than my old pc. It's saving me a substantial amount of time processing raw files from my Canon R5. With 8% sales tax the total was $2400. Thanks

    Yippeee!! I was waiting for this video. I have a couple questions for you Tech Notice regarding the MB in one of your earlier videos you mentioned the ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi 6 D4. I'm curious what you feel the difference would be between it or the GIGABYTE Z690 AERO G DDR4. Which would you choose, and why?
    Also in one of your past videos you mentioned the Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black. Would this be a good upgrade cooler for this system with either CPU you mentioned?

    Great information and presentation as usual. This is exactly the price range I'm looking at for a new productivity build, that may also be used for a little light gauge PCVR . Great timing. I've been narrowing down and this is pretty close to where I've been landing, but always love new perspectives.
    I wish he'd offered a bit more specifics regarding what we'd experience as benefits from upgrading from a 3060 ti to the 4070 ti. Would it be mostly reduced render times? Or smoothness during editing? Or able to handle 6k - 8k video editing? I'm not likely to ever being working with video above 4k, so it would be helpful to know what specific areas would benefit from the upgrade to determine if it would justify the expense for my relative light video editing.

    • @theTechNotice
      @theTechNotice  ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be faster GPU effects so if your 3060ti can't handle certain effects or colour grade and also faster export/rendering times for video editing. For 3d extremely quicker rendering performance. :)

  • @TheBedroomRocker1
    @TheBedroomRocker1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks for the great video! The two most expensive upgrades are the CPU (i5-13600K to i7-13700K) and GPU (3060Ti to 3070Ti). If you had to chose only one of these upgrades, which one would you recommend? I'm editing 1080p 60FPS footage (max. 3 parallel scenes without many effects) and I also want to game (very) non-competitively at 1440p @60FPS. I'm also looking into the 3070 as an option. Thanks a lot for the tips!

    I need some advice. My buddy is looking to upgrade his system but doesn't want to build a while new system. His budget is around $1800 USD and his current specs are Not yet. At the office today.
    Graphics card - Radeon RX 5700 8GB
    GPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6C12T
    Motherboard - Gigabyte B450 Gaming X
    SSD - 1TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe
    RAM - G Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4 3000 MHz (64gb)
    Cooler - an AIO but not sure which one
    He started using more animation softwares and heavier after effects, so he'd like to just be able to handle more intense 4-5K editing and animation. So it doesn't stall or take forever to render.

Then to run De Vinci I need the speed too, no more rendering for a week to upload. I almost got the same configuration in my last month build for my self, I follow your advice using the i7 13700k, great cpu with a Msi mpg edge wifi ddr4, Nvidia 3060 ti( I was blessed getting it at Best Buy for $399.00) 128 gb FURY beast 3200mhz, Noctua Nh-D15, bunch of noctua fans, a Corsair rmx series rm1000x 1000w and a Phanteks ph-es614ptg just because I am from the old era and I love to have my dvd player ... ahhh also some Phanteks Rgb frames to light up the Noctuas... lol.... I love it but it is better build it your self, now days a rig like that cost a lot more if you pay for it, I think the only advantage between DIY pc builders and big companies is the Gpu are more cheap, like the 4090's besides that may be a smaller thing, thanks for your help, awesome videos.

    Just a heads up for everyone considering a Samsung NVME drive. I would hold off on them for now. Both the 980 Pro and the 990 Pro have been having issues. The 980 Pro was being set to read only mode and could potentially brick your PC if it was the OS drive. The 990 Pro has being reporting massive health degradation in the amount of TBW despite not having the drives being used that much.

      This is an issue on 980 with the 3B2QGXA7 firmware which was reporting drive integrity incorrectly. Anyone who gets a Samsung drive should install the Magician software and update the firmware to 4B2QGXA7 or 5B2QGXA7. These are not affected by the error and stop the problems from happening. yo,, and so i buy n built it,, but left out the video card until i felt a bit richer. BUT maybe this is why i can't get even a Bios screen,,, ahhhhhh ...switching it on for the first time using the mother board hdmi output (there's no vga) the CPU and RAM leds go on for a second or two intermittently but thats it,,, the other two leds stay off.... and no BIOS screen... in fact no signal getting through to the monitor even... I've been hunting around to see if this mother board NEEDS a video card, if that's a thing...? (i'm not a PC build virgin but I'm better with paint than puters!) THANKS FOR ANY HELF RESPONSE.... (& your output is smashin!) ...

    • @JonathanSeni
      @JonathanSeni ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Two things, first DaVinci generally is more optimized to use GPU than CPU, try your best to go with the best GPU you can buy.
      Second, if you are going to spend 1000USD + on building a PC, don't you think it's reasonable enough to spend additional 300USD once into Blackmagic Design to get Studio version and at the same time to support their effort on making the best NLE and Color grading software available to small creators?

    MOBO: MSI B450 Gaming Max Plus
    GPU: MSI GTX 1070

    Now I'm planning to upgrade my GPU on what you recommended on this video as the 3060Ti since my GTX 1070 is almost retiring and have some minor glitches but still bearable, would the 3060Ti GPU be a good match on to my system? Or is it just to over kill? Or should I just go above like the 3070?

    every PC I build seems to cost over $3K (that's even without the additional 10% sales tax). The i9-12900 system I built last year was more like $4K. Component prices have reduced a lot since then (except GPUs of course), which is kind of annoying: everything else is going up so I bought early only to regret pulling the trigger too soon. The DDR5 RAM is less than half the price now ($600 for 64GB DDR5-5200 in March 2022!) New machine is a 7950X In a Fractal Torrent case (compact)

      I assume you are comparing 13600K to 13500 as the i7 and i9 chips don't have non-K versions. 13600K has a higher base clock, more cache, and allows undervolting. In the US, there isn't much price difference between the two chips and compatible motherboards. I went with the 13600K for it's better performance for content creation. For gaming, it probably won't matter unless you're spending $1000+ on a graphics card.
