    Another GREAT Yeti video my friend! Love how you always do the amount of beer cans and ice it fits because that’s what we REALLY all want to know! How do you think that telescope handle does compared to other coolers that have the same thing? You think it’s more sturdy? Better metal/aluminum? Can’t wait for the comparison to your Yeti Haul. Absolutely LOVE seeing Jake on the Yeti cooler videos crunching on his ice. Give him a good scratch behind his ear and wish him a happy birthday from us! Now I’m off to watch the video again . Stay safe out there my friend.

      Thank you for that great feedback. The telescoping handle when extended does move around a bit so it feels a little more flimsy compared to the Tundra Haul to be honest. That said, even when loaded, when you are wheeling it around it feels solid so no complaints. Jake had a great birthday, I cooked him a ribeye steak on the grill. He loved it. I have been on the fence with getting the roadie 48 or 60 for upcoming festivals/camping trips, so you've really helped me with making a decision. @@JDOffline Thanks for all the info. Looking to buy a wheeled Yeti but also waiting on the comparison. The Haul handle looks stronger. The Roadie 48 handle looks flimsy to me. @@heberdavila3518 True, but I trust Yeti's warranty more than any other company. Yeti will pay for the shipping cost if you need to send it back. Many companies with lifetime or 5 year warranties, etc will have you ship it at your dime. I am lucky I live in a city with a flagship store and I was told you can bring the item to them and swap out.

    Great video. Much more detailed than any other review I’ve seen. I for one think this is a no-brained simply for the wheels and the new latches. My wife and kids would never be able to open the old tension ones. These feel and function great. What’s your thoughts on the Roadie 60? Is the extra 4” width (11 beers) width worth the extra $50?

    • @JDOffline
      @JDOffline  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for that feedback. I love this cooler and I'm sure the 60 would also be great. One thing I will say about the 48 is it is a large cooler. I recently took it down to Florida and I have a 2021 2500 Chevy truck with a bed cover on it. It wouldn't fit in the bed standing up with the bed cover on it, it protrudes over the bed rails a bit, not big deal, I threw it in the backseat with the seats up and it was still a tight fit. Not really a huge issue but the 60 is even larger! The 48 has a huge capacity as well and keeps ice better than even any of my other Yeti coolers. It's probably the best cooler they have come out with recently with the updated latches and the ability to put something else on top of it when wheeling it around. Anyway, hope this helps! JD

  • @paulcarlin5181
    @paulcarlin5181 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What sells me on this is the latches. Much more family friendly. My lady hates the latches and zippers of the Yeti's and other brands. This really simplifies that. Kids can even easily open and close this.

    Great video JD, I am curious what your thoughts are on that handle while hauling the yeti fully loaded? I've seen a few coolers not hold up real well when it comes to the telescoping metal handle. I was debating between the roadie 24 vs 48. I think you sold me on the product after this review.

    • @JDOffline
      @JDOffline  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Donnie, the handle does have some play when it is fully extended but it's so well built I can't imagine it being an issue. I've only wheeled it around loaded up a couple of times at this point with zero issues so time will tell. Keep in mind the 5 year warranty as well should it not hold up. I can tell you the Tundra haul's handle feels a lot more solid compared to this one but again, I'm highly confident this one will hold up even when loaded down. JD

    • @JDOffline
      @JDOffline  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've used the cooler more now since the video and it rolls around like a dream even when loaded. Not sure how it will do in sugar sand like at the beach but grass, gravel, pavement, curbs no problems. I have the same issue with the 24 when it is loaded. My go to Yeti is the flip 18 which is still manageable to carry around when loaded. When I need a larger capacity I go to the roadie 48 or tundra haul. I still use my roadie 24 but I'm with you, once it is loaded it is heavy to carry around. Hope this helps. JD

    I'd forgotten to note that this is an injection-molded cooler and not a rotomolded cooler. This allows for significant weight savings and probably improved consistency in insulation fill. It actually annoys me that there is a tiny gap in the lid gasket on each side to allow air to leak to avoid suction seals and allow for leakage of CO2 with dry ice. It does affect super-cold (dry ice or Arctic Ice Tundra) retention times if you're trying to go for days. Overall a fantastic design.

    • @JDOffline

    Nice review. Thanks! How do the wheels work on sand?

    • @JDOffline
      @JDOffline  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends. If the cooler is full and you’re in sugar sand like at the beach it rolls but kind of drags on it’s belly. It handles all other kinds of dirt gravel etc w no problems. Its a great cooler we love ours for sure. The wheels are too narrow and the cooler is too big and heavy to perform really well in the soft sand. We only see the beach a couple times a year so not an issue for us in Georgia! JD

      I hope to have that video out within a week or two at the most. I can tell you both coolers have about the same capacity and both hold ice really well. I don't think I would say one is better than the other in terms of ice retention. It's all going to boil down to what shape/style/handle you like better and price as the new roadie 48 is $50 more. I'll point out a few other things in my upcoming video. Stay tuned and I'll get the video out as soon as I can. JD

      Hey Jimbo, thanks for the feedback. Man they are both great coolers and I'm not sure I can recommend one over the other. I'm working on a video of the differences between the two and its really just size, shape and the handles. Of course price. The Roadie 60 wasn't in stock when I bought this one and I can't see a need for that one when the 48 is so roomy. Tough call and I know I'm not helping much, haha. Never had it in beach sand or fine sand. I can't imagine it would do well and it would probably sink down. The tires are too narrow for the sugary type sand. Once you got it closer to the water in the harder packed sand I think it would be fine.
