Yes, this too shall pass…my mantra thru thyroid cancer, breast cancer, and several squamous cell skin cancers….sounds awful, huh? But prayer gave me comfort and peace as I went thru treatment. I am very much over all that now. But, aging is not much fun in reality (lol) but as Sandra says try to be optimistic! Yes, this too shall pass. Get well soon🙏😍👍

I used to work with a woman who was the snazziest dresser. I once asked her where she found her amazing clothes and she told me she never buys new. Instead she shops thrift stores! She said it takes some effort to find good clothing but it’s worth it. Very nice video Sandra.

My 16 year old granddaughter and I love Goodwill! And hail to the "linen, cotton" clothing. All that I can wear these days. THANK you...I just went thru a BAD patch. Lost the promising job that turned out to be a huge nothing burger of misrepresentation and couldn't participate in lies and unethical stuff. Got notice the same day of lease not renewing, which I wasn't expecting. It looks bleak and scary as I was just getting over my financial mess from the whole covid stuff. I have NO idea how to FIX this in time, but have to trust that it will ALL workout despite the setbacks.

What’s the old joke; if you want to make God laugh make a plan, lol I just turn my life over to the Lord each day and let him lead. That doesn’t mean that I can’t make any plans, but I what learned this far in life with my husband’s illness and then ultimately death, you only can do a minute at a time sometimes that’s all we can grasp. I'm guilty of rehashing past stuff in my head which then sours or saddens my moods. I'm learning to understand they are just thoughts and old memories (which does play tricks on us as we don't always remember it exactly as it was 😉) You are 💯correct 'life is not static' & 'setbacks are temporary' ♥ and patting ourself on the back is a great thing - think of it as part of our self-care. Hello from Annie thank you for the lovely video it is exciting going to thrift shops I like to go weekly if I can but lately have not been well some sort of flu thing but on the mend. I cheered myself up to be optimistic and went to local op shop where they had a end of season sale they always have you can buy a bag of clothes for $5 yes it is amazing and such a bargain I was on top of the world I got 13 summer tops for that $5 I got them home fast and washed them could not wait to wear them they look fabulous on me and are of many colours and variety of patterns and designs. Last year got great bargains at same store I got winter clothes bag for $5 as well and had lots of Jackets Blazers and Jumpers etc such great buys saved hundreds of dollars for sure. I always put eucalyptus in wash to clean and disinfect those clothes from op shops, and get a kick out of the fact that I am recycling something giving it a new life and it is worth while doing so for the planet too, so this is one thing that always makes me happy when I get a bargain. I wish there were more good things in my life to make me feel more happy and optimistic, well I try to imagine these nice things happening, it gives me some hope.

I enjoy thrift stores too! I don’t always find anything, but when I discover a well made blouse with a flattering color and shape, I buy it. I’ve lost a lot of weight so now am giving back my clothes that are in good shape. My daughter lives nearby so we do things together too. Life is good!
I just found two skirts from Anne Klein and Talbots for $9.00 but the best purchase of all was a round oak table and four oak spindle press back chairs for $70.00 !!! These were at my St. Vincent de Paul’s thrift shop!!! I feel just great about them! I love getting quality items for a lot less!💖💐
I love Goodwill. I had a therapist who never talked about it but I would always see him at Goodwill. He never bought new and he always wore kakis and a polo shirt. If you take your time to look you can find great things that sometimes still have tags on them. This also helps our planet
Sandra, I certainly understand Arthur just wanting to coast and enjoy his life. My Mom is 94 and just wants to have fun. I can relate as I am soon to be 76 and am tiring of volunteering for my ladies Association, etc., etc. It seems I went from working to working. I needed to stay busy when we lost our only child to cancer and I was coping with his loss. I finally learned how to cope with the grief and expect to be with him again one day. Now, I just want to enjoy my Mom, time with my husband and the rest of my lovely extended family. I am so blessed to have my brothers and their families all in our community. We are all close and that is so wonderful. Life kicks us to the curb at times but we can finally get up and dust ourselves off and continue to move forward! I love wearing someone else's clothes! I have saved so much money on beautiful items. Classic is my style with a little drama once in a while. Some of my friends giggle at me when I am so proud of my savings and am twirling around showing off my latest find. I also have found lovely items for my home on Poshmark and at thrift stores. Many of my friends are starting to frequent these stores also. Thank you sweet lady for being here for us and sharing your life with us. I know you are so appreciated.

Hi Sandra I’ve commented a few times and was telling you how very hard the aging thing is on me. However I wanted to let you know that over the last couple weeks I’ve been suffering with sciatica never knew pain could be so bad. All I done was stood up. I had pain in my back and down my right leg it is horrible pain. And after 19 years I finally had to break and go to the doctor. They gave me a shot of steroids and also subscribed me a 6 day supply of methyl predisolone. Well I realized when all this was happening what is important and I’ll never complain about aging again or a little weight gain. I seriously feel like I’ve had a second chance at life because in my anxiety mind I had cancer that was pushing against the nerve but I now know that’s not the case. I’m still in a little pain but I feel so blessed to be rid of the pain and it’s like the world is a different place. That’s exactly what I’m concentrating on now is my beautiful children and grandchildren and everyone else in my life. I love listening to you and I really feel my negativity is gone. And I was seriously probably the most negative person you could ever know . Burgos bless!!

I’m 79 and have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and osteoporosis. I’ve been extremely healthy and this has been a hard realization. I’ve always exercised ( gym 3 times a week for weight lifting machines) and eat a dash diet, mostly plant based going on 3 years. I’m generally very optimistic, but have been obsessed with my BP readings and food intake. Listening to you is helping. Thank you so much. Thanks for sharing how you clean the thrift shop clothes. I need to get more natural fibers clothes.
I'm 70 and just learned I have cardiomyopathy. My Drs say I have to lose a great deal of weight, almost out out salt, eat clean and get my BP down as soon as possible. It's very scary. I know how you feel. I wish you good health! And many good years!

Optimism is top priority to me these days. We have both had some serious health issues, some ongoing. We are both in our mid and late 70s and have been together 54 yrs. Situations have changed over that time, some bad choices and more good choices. I really believe what you say in that everything is temporary. To me, each day is new and it doesn't matter if I'm out and about or home crafting or cleaning there is always something positive somewhere in that day. I have reached the time in my life that negativity has no place, there has been plenty of it over time but now is the time to enjoy each moment I have on this planet. I thought I would never recover from the death of Mum 3 years ago, at age 90, it still hurts deeply but I now try to live every day as she did even when she was riddled with pain she tried to be positive. We only have one life. Thank you for your wisdom and graciousness.

Yes, I agree I’m still caring for my parents at there 🏡, my husband comes on weekends to give me a 🖐 with tasks. I have been married for 40 yrs. The funny thing is that this is helping our marriage no time for disagreements. When my task is done with my parents, I will be following my dreams because life is to short.

Good Afternoon Sandra, Awesome advice. As my husband's full time caregiver for almost four years, there is no end to my stress. It finally caught up with me recently when I was hospitalized with what was suspected to be a stroke. Fortunately, all is well. You are right on about being optimistic. When I think of all the things that Tony and I can no longer do as a couple such as traveling and dining out, I focus on our lovely home environment that we can spend our days in and that I have been blessed with a wonderful aide to help with Tony. Such a timely and delightful video, Sandra! It just happens that my friend and I shopped at our local Goodwill today. My really big find was a beautiful gray jacket from Banana Republic ( tags still attached) that had been $178 for only $12. AND, it was a perfect fit and good color for me. it's actually more for Spring, Fall, Winter instead of for hot humid weather. My friend and I had so much fun shopping, laughing, lunching, and sharing together.

I've been very stressed about what is going on in our country, with this current administration. For me, the best way to beat stress, is to get creative. I sculpt, as a hobby, and it brings me a lot of joy. Currently I am sculpting 2 trees, from paper mache. They will be farely good size, and will stand on each side of my fireplace, in my foyer/sunroom. Thank you for sharing your comforting words today. The clothes you bought are lovely. Love thrift shopping. My mother in law got me started in the 1980’s, so grateful for her wisdom. I have had some great purchases. Now I take my grandchildren. They were really impressed when I was looking for a rash vest for swimming, paid $5 instead of $30. The grandkids couldn’t wait to get home to tell mum who also does thrift shopping unbeknown to the kids😊

I'm going into a new phase in my life after difficult life lessons and one thing that I'm learning is blaming yourself and thinking of the past is like missing the head of the nail with the hammer and hitting your thumb over and over again. I am very conscious about how I say things because your words are energy that you're putting out into the world whether it be positive or negative, you can draw those things right back to you. I know you have been through hell and back, but you did come back. As you said, it was temporary. I love your outlook! I also love Goodwill stores! Any thrift store or flea market. As a matter of fact, I have found some of my most treasured items there. Most of my clothes are from yard sales and thrifting. Of course, I shop online, but I have the most fun while thrifting. Yes, this too shall pass…my mantra thru thyroid cancer, breast cancer, and several squamous cell skin cancers….sounds awful, huh? But prayer gave me comfort and peace as I went thru treatment. I am very much over all that now. But, aging is not much fun in reality (lol) but as Sandra says try to be optimistic! Yes, this too shall pass. Get well soon🙏😍👍

I used to work with a woman who was the snazziest dresser. I once asked her where she found her amazing clothes and she told me she never buys new. Instead she shops thrift stores! She said it takes some effort to find good clothing but it’s worth it. Very nice video Sandra.

My 16 year old granddaughter and I love Goodwill! And hail to the "linen, cotton" clothing. All that I can wear these days. THANK you...I just went thru a BAD patch. Lost the promising job that turned out to be a huge nothing burger of misrepresentation and couldn't participate in lies and unethical stuff. Got notice the same day of lease not renewing, which I wasn't expecting. It looks bleak and scary as I was just getting over my financial mess from the whole covid stuff. I have NO idea how to FIX this in time, but have to trust that it will ALL workout despite the setbacks.
I hope things are better for you now, often events like yours push us into something better.

Good morning another thought provoking video.. I still haven’t figured out who I am at 71. What’s the old joke; if you want to make God laugh make a plan, lol I just turn my life over to the Lord each day and let him lead. That doesn’t mean that I can’t make any plans, but I what learned this far in life with my husband’s illness and then ultimately death, you only can do a minute at a time sometimes that’s all we can grasp. Hello from Annie thank you for the lovely video it is exciting going to thrift shops I like to go weekly if I can but lately have not been well some sort of flu thing but on the mend. I cheered myself up to be optimistic and went to local op shop where they had a end of season sale they always have you can buy a bag of clothes for $5 yes it is amazing and such a bargain I was on top of the world I got 13 summer tops for that $5 I got them home fast and washed them could not wait to wear them they look fabulous on me and are of many colours and variety of patterns and designs. Last year got great bargains at same store I got winter clothes bag for $5 as well and had lots of Jackets Blazers and Jumpers etc such great buys saved hundreds of dollars for sure. I always put eucalyptus in wash to clean and disinfect those clothes from op shops, and get a kick out of the fact that I am recycling something giving it a new life and it is worth while doing so for the planet too, so this is one thing that always makes me happy when I get a bargain. I wish there were more good things in my life to make me feel more happy and optimistic, well I try to imagine these nice things happening, it gives me some hope.

I enjoy thrift stores too! I don’t always find anything, but when I discover a well made blouse with a flattering color and shape, I buy it. I’ve lost a lot of weight so now am giving back my clothes that are in good shape. My daughter lives nearby so we do things together too. Life is good!

I just found two skirts from Anne Klein and Talbots for $9.00 but the best purchase of all was a round oak table and four oak spindle press back chairs for $70.00 !!! These were at my St. Vincent de Paul’s thrift shop!!! I feel just great about them! I love getting quality items for a lot less!💖💐
I love Goodwill. I had a therapist who never talked about it but I would always see him at Goodwill. He never bought new and he always wore kakis and a polo shirt. If you take your time to look you can find great things that sometimes still have tags on them. This also helps our planet

I certainly understand Arthur just wanting to coast and enjoy his life. My Mom is 94 and just wants to have fun. I can relate as I am soon to be 76 and am tiring of volunteering for my ladies Association, etc., etc. It seems I went from working to working. I needed to stay busy when we lost our only child to cancer and I was coping with his loss. I finally learned how to cope with the grief and expect to be with him again one day. Now, I just want to enjoy my Mom, time with my husband and the rest of my lovely extended family. I am so blessed to have my brothers and their families all in our community. We are all close and that is so wonderful. Life kicks us to the curb at times but we can finally get up and dust ourselves off and continue to move forward!
I love wearing someone else's clothes! I have saved so much money on beautiful items. Classic is my style with a little drama once in a while. Some of my friends giggle at me when I am so proud of my savings and am twirling around showing off my latest find. I also have found lovely items for my home on Poshmark and at thrift stores. Many of my friends are starting to frequent these stores also.

Hi Sandra I’ve commented a few times and was telling you how very hard the aging thing is on me. However I wanted to let you know that over the last couple weeks I’ve been suffering with sciatica never knew pain could be so bad. All I done was stood up. I had pain in my back and down my right leg it is horrible pain. And after 19 years I finally had to break and go to the doctor. They gave me a shot of steroids and also subscribed me a 6 day supply of methyl predisolone. Well I realized when all this was happening what is important and I’ll never complain about aging again or a little weight gain. I seriously feel like I’ve had a second chance at life because in my anxiety mind I had cancer that was pushing against the nerve but I now know that’s not the case. I’m still in a little pain but I feel so blessed to be rid of the pain and it’s like the world is a different place. That’s exactly what I’m concentrating on now is my beautiful children and grandchildren and everyone else in my life. I love listening to you and I really feel my negativity is gone. And I was seriously probably the most negative person you could ever know . Burgos bless!!

I’m 79 and have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and osteoporosis. I’ve been extremely healthy and this has been a hard realization. I’ve always exercised ( gym 3 times a week for weight lifting machines) and eat a dash diet, mostly plant based going on 3 years. I’m generally very optimistic, but have been obsessed with my BP readings and food intake. Listening to you is helping. Thank you so much. Thanks for sharing how you clean the thrift shop clothes. I need to get more natural fibers clothes.
I'm 70 and just learned I have cardiomyopathy. My Drs say I have to lose a great deal of weight, almost out out salt, eat clean and get my BP down as soon as possible. It's very scary. I know how you feel. I wish you good health! And many good years!

Optimism is top priority to me these days. We have both had some serious health issues, some ongoing. We are both in our mid and late 70s and have been together 54 yrs. Situations have changed over that time, some bad choices and more good choices. I really believe what you say in that everything is temporary. To me, each day is new and it doesn't matter if I'm out and about or home crafting or cleaning there is always something positive somewhere in that day. I have reached the time in my life that negativity has no place, there has been plenty of it over time but now is the time to enjoy each moment I have on this planet. I thought I would never recover from the death of Mum 3 years ago, at age 90, it still hurts deeply but I now try to live every day as she did even when she was riddled with pain she tried to be positive. We only have one life. Thank you for your wisdom and graciousness.

It finally caught up with me recently when I was hospitalized with what was suspected to be a stroke. Fortunately, all is well. You are right on about being optimistic. When I think of all the things that Tony and I can no longer do as a couple such as traveling and dining out, I focus on our lovely home environment that we can spend our days in and that I have been blessed with a wonderful aide to help with Tony. Such a timely and delightful video, Sandra! It just happens that my friend and I shopped at our local Goodwill today. My really big find was a beautiful gray jacket from Banana Republic ( tags still attached) that had been $178 for only $12. AND, it was a perfect fit and good color for me. it's actually more for Spring, Fall, Winter instead of for hot humid weather. I've been very stressed about what is going on in our country, with this current administration. For me, the best way to beat stress, is to get creative. I sculpt, as a hobby, and it brings me a lot of joy. Currently I am sculpting 2 trees, from paper mache. They will be farely good size, and will stand on each side of my fireplace, in my foyer/sunroom. Thank you for sharing your comforting words today. The clothes you bought are lovely. I hope you and your daughter are enjoying your time together. xxx

Love thrift shopping. My mother in law got me started in the 1980’s, so grateful for her wisdom. I have had some great purchases. Now I take my grandchildren. They were really impressed when I was looking for a rash vest for swimming, paid $5 instead of $30. The grandkids couldn’t wait to get home to tell mum who also does thrift shopping unbeknown to the kids😊

New subscriber🤗 I'm turning 50 this year, never been married or had kids, I guess God has some special plans for me. I'm going into a new phase in my life after difficult life lessons and one thing that I'm learning is blaming yourself and thinking of the past is like missing the head of the nail with the hammer and hitting your thumb over and over again. I'm quite late for this one, but I agree with what you're saying wholeheartedly. I am very conscious about how I say things because your words are energy that you're putting out into the world whether it be positive or negative, you can draw those things right back to you. I know you have been through hell and back, but you did come back. As you said, it was temporary. I love your outlook! I also love Goodwill stores! Any thrift store or flea market. As a matter of fact, I have found some of my most treasured items there. Most of my clothes are from yard sales and thrifting. Of course, I shop online, but I have the most fun while thrifting. I'm so glad you had a great day thrifting! You make me smile! Take good care! By the way, you look absolutely amazing in your new outfits! That's the way to shop! As for questions, I have 2. The first is what products do you use on your hair to keep your beautiful waves from being a frizzy mess in the Fla. humidity?
