The first lady's brother marrying the other woman in 7 months. He needed a maid and was not trying to die alone. I kind of went through something like that. Sometimes when they marry you quickly it could be genuine but a lot of the time it's sinister.
@@omphilemoerane2569 he didn’t propose officially but he was telling me he wants to marry me very early. We had been friends for a few yrs before dating. He proposed almost 2 yrs later
The only words that truly matter to me are the words of the young man! Boom! Are you willing to be with this man as he is rn?! No, then why marry him?!
Goes to show…the more things change, the more they stay the same. Mothers continue to fail their Daughters by their own conduct. That’s why Young Ladies start this vicious “love” cycle. Back in my day, we called them Pacifiers AND Shut Up Rings (over 30 years ago).
My dad left his first wife for my mom who was the baby sitter. My parents never told me this, I heard it from my older half sister. My dad was an abusive alcoholic. My mom later cheated on my dad with another alcoholic.
Why would you want to be with a person under those terms? Be with me or else… The self esteem is terrible amongst women and unfortunately this is what we are teaching our young girls. Chase men instead of investing in yourself, stay in unhealthy relationships too long, get pregnant out of wedlock and then manipulate and try to hold a man hostage that clearly doesn’t want to be with you and bring a child into a terrible situation. Smh 🤦♀️
If a woman has to ask for a ring then she needs to end the relationship. Women need to stop putting the cart before the horse by shacking up with these guys and providing financially, physically and emotionally for a boyfriend who doesn’t see their value outside of using them. Stop volunteering to be a wifey for a man who doesn’t want you as an actual wife. They want the women who don’t want to be tied down and are loving their freedom. That’s the beautiful bird that they want to chain to them by marrying her up and knocking her up asap. You’re already broken. She’s next on his list to break, tear down and use. You’re going back up on the shelf. Please start wanting more out of your life than to be a placeholder because you need him more than he wants you.
There’s also another thing adding to shut up rings firstly now I have a name for it and secondly there is lots of women out there who just want to get married just to be married and they don’t care what men they’re with. They just want the wedding and the engagement ring to brag to their friends.
My friend is in a situation where her and her bf are long distance but they choose times to meet up with one another. They are together for like almost 6 years but my friends dream is that both of her parents attend their wedding(she doesn’t care when he proposes) she just wants both parents alive. He hasn’t yet and his issue is that she hasn’t met his family yet or been around them long enough for him to want to pop the question.now this is a good excuse but it’s shaky because my friend can’t travel due her health issues.shes so in love with this guy but recently her father health hasn’t been the best and she keeps telling him like hey things not looking good but he can’t really give her an answer,he said he’s stuck because he doesn’t want to leave his mother because she’s older and he’s afraid to leave and something happens or his older siblings won’t care for her…thoughts?
Wow! I don't think it looks good for her. She needs to talk to him and state her hopes and dreams clearly, if he doesn't still want to commit then she might have to take a hard decision to leave and find someone else. Their issue is complicated but I know that if a guy wants it, he would do it.
I used to entertain friends like that but I can’t deal with that fantasy world nonsense anymore. Her fantasy gives her hope so she won’t have to deal with reality of her health and aging parents with no true story of her own. Sounds like 16 year olds talking about their dreams after watching Lifetime.
@@Ilikefrogs.. sorry for the mix up I’ve counted their”talking phase” technically they’ve been together going on 4 years after this year. But if he were to cheat then it would be a very small window because they talk all of the time so that’s what I’m trying to figure out myself if he had someone else then how would he cheat and when? It’s a very complicated situation

10 years? That is so heartbreaking.

100% of the time, when a man gives a shut up ring, he's cheating or will cheat when the opportunity presents itself.
That is so true.
Or abuse and discard. Smdh.
Not mine, he’s too scared to cross me like that.

My husband was asking me to marry him around 2 months in. I dont know how people stay so long waiting. I wouldnt wait more than 2 yrs.
They say men know who they want almost immediately.
Me neither
Men typically know earlier if they want to marry a woman or not.
But not because he proposed early, Doesn't mean he's a good partner.
Proposing after 2 months is also a red flag. He could be a love bomber.

Your mom clearly has a type.
That just shows that it’s mostly about the man being shit, not about the women not being good enough
@YurinanAcquiline not holding the man accountable at all I see

Six years, long distance, she hasn’t even met his family? He’s seeing someone else and she’s his side-piece.
