Marriage is a social and business contract. In the grand scheme of things, people have been marrying for love for 5 seconds. Those podcasters are clueless. There's nothing sad about a lavender marriage. I think it could only work with a gay guy and straight woman or 2 gay people. A gay woman and straight man, too many men think lesbianism is just a man's fantasy and not valid. Having sex with my husband is currently a requirement, so I have to nope out, but I think it's a great idea. I've also heard about 2 asexual women who got married so they can have all the spouse benefits like legal decision making. That's also a great idea. If you don't want a romantic or sexual relationship and you want your best friend who you trust more than anyone to make decisions when you can't, great option
This is sad. Women choosing to be single is one thing because realistically those woman would change their mind if they actually met the right guy. This is completely giving up on life.
Here’s the thing…even if the 2 of you are totally down with the lavender marriage thing, you’ll always have to deal with the 3rd and 4th party that will undoubtedly fall in love. Even if you are totally honest with your people outside of your lil arrangement, you cannot possibly predict or mitigate the drama that will inevitably ensue when the 3rd or 4th party wants either one of you to s/himself. It all sounds good-I have to admit it does sound tempting-but once you think it thru, it’s not as simple as you think 🧐
To Robbie: I accept! 🤣 I do come w a fiancé and he cleans and I cook. We do have a toy dog but her dog door is big enough for Lulu. You bring the decorator sense and therapy and let’s pool this money! The vacations would be fabulous. 😌
As I’ve gotten older I look at relationships very differently. With most marriages ending in divorce. And the ones who last are usually two miserable people who can’t stand each other. There’s obviously things that need to change
Lavender marriages are already very present in African/Asian cultures where being LGBTQIA+ is illegal or socially/culturally penalised. However it tends to be between a gay man and a lesbian. Oftentimes to sidestep an arranged marriage (but it can also be a good outcome for someone who ends up in a forced marriage but doesn’t have to consummate it or be anything beyond a friend that helps their now spouse keep their act up). Both families get off their backs, they maintain standing in society while still having their desired love lives outside of the marriage. Lavender marriage for companionship or financial benefit (discounting sugar baby, trophy marriages which already exist) is an interesting concept. It shows the sad reality of the dating market right now (abysmal) but also highlights how instead of chasing the one, a lot of people are prioritising peace and stability. We already see this in the 4b/single by choice/abstinence movements, but it’s also nice seeing the more communal aspect that still allows people to have some relational needs met. Honestly? With the right person, I’d be up for it. It would probably have to be with a gay man well into his 50/60s who’s lived his best, wild life, taken great care of himself, and just wants someone to do life with but is also done with dating. He can be my fairy gayfather that helps me curate my fits and finally keep at least one plant alive. I cook, do the groceries while he cleans and manages the DIY and any spiders etc. We’d try restaurants and bars, travel together, have pets, invest together, be each other’s chosen family and have the confidence to put ourselves out there fully professionally, personally, romantically etc knowing we have the security of our marriage to catch us.
I believe this was the case for the British Asian couple who went to SA for their honeymoon and they got ‘robbed’ and she unalived. The whole situation was so sus. I strongly believe the guy was gay but obviously this is still a huge no no in the Asian community so he needed to keep the secret hidden
Also there were and still are benefits to being married and recognised by the state especially back then. It was also a safety thing so I understand why it happened especially back then.
I am fed up with being in relationships with heterosexual men. To the point where I have taken myself out of the dating pool. Stop playing in God face. People are up here trying to marry to afford a specific lifestyle. How about live within your means and stop looking for lazy ways to have more than what you need. People are so selfish that I dont think people consider the babies that will be born into these toxic watered down relationships. TLC will film this type of alternative lifestyle and showcase how much it does not work.

Hell no I want a man.
Is he a stud or is he DL??
Lavender marriage isn’t that bad
I don't understand how this benefits anyone. Gay marriage is legal so why don't gay men find men to marry. This would completely bankrupt a woman.
Not be with him and him tho.
WAIT! I got facts now…I know’d it…he GAY
Lol what’s a lavender marriage?
What the hell is this nonsense lol!
Lavender marriage? WTF?? Ain’t he or she gay? Transgender?
Whhhhaaatttt
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Marriage for thousands of years was not for love… this is just another form.
