    Such simple and efficient design. I have a Logitech shifter, and about one year later, it started going into the wrong gear. Because it internally works like a joystick, the possibility of error is much higher. I disassembled it but see nothing that could be wrong... I will try to repair it though, and then I will sell it because I had enough of Logitech, and I will then buy this shifter. Logi developed this internal shifter design 20 years ago, and did not even improve it or swap it out for a more efficient design.

      @@AlexTurbo Update: I haven’t messed around with sound deadening yet but I did buy a Mishimoto shift knob (MMSK-KB) since the shape is good for both sequential and h-pattern shifting. And no mods are necessary since the shift knob comes with thread adapters that perfectly fit the threads of the shifter

    @the_sausage 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I got in contact with a seller on Taobao ( A Chinese ecommerce site) and they're going for 225CNY there (around US$35!). The seller says, it is interchangeable and you can get the full version with both the sequential movement limiter, and the range selector. You can pull out the wire for the range selector and disconnect the switch, and use it as a regular 6 speed h-shifter or sequential gearbox. Many of the feedback on the seller's site are commenting that it is very tight, but I guess the springs can be changed with some sourcing around. Apparently these are of a generic design in China because there are many sellers but all have the same housing... the only difference is the shift knob.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't come across any version of this shifter that comes with a sequential mode. I'm very curious to see how that functions based on the confines of the design.

    • @the_sausage
      @the_sausage 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimRacingCorner it's not really sequential mode but rather a physical tab that prevents left and right movement and locking in place,then I guess you have to map it to shift up and down controls

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@the_sausage Is there a piece to that, which presses the switches too and reduces the forward/back throw, as just locking the lateral movement isn't enough. As the gear stick will get captured and not recenter otherwise.

Maybe the 8 gear version can be converted to 7+switch too because the 8th gear is wired as a switch and if You put 1st gear while having 8th engaged externally by a switch it gives You higher range of gears? Seeing the internals now has me excited to mod the shifter. I am going to reduce the tension between switches by replacing the spring to something a little more loose. I just find it annoying to have to really force the shifter so hard. Wish me luck lol

    • @tocaamerillo431
      @tocaamerillo431 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah it seems really moddable and adjustable. It'd probably be a good idea to add something you can put on top to block the 7th gear gate for 6 gear cars as it'd be annoying to hit it by accident. Also perhaps making the reverse gate give a little more resistance than the other gates, maybe a tiny leaf spring or something. Another thing is that I've seen people complain about too much side-to-side tension, but from this teardown, it seems like it should be adjustable simply by unscrewing the nuts holding the springs just a tiny bit.
