me too here are my reviews: ive been using it for months now and its has a very good quality and i definitely recommend you to buy one of those considering the prices 🤩🤩🥰🥰
Ive ordered mine now, i think it will make great diffrence but i have one concern. When i go from 3rd to 4th its really unsmooth and makes a rattling noise. Its when it travels between 3rd and 4th the noise comes. I also se alot of wear on the metal stick itself. Any ideas how to fix this or will it become better over time because i have only used it a few hours
Hi there! Thanks for the order. Could you please send an email directly through our website? That way, I can assist you with your question and potentially send you images if necessary.
@@oldboysimracing ive mailed you, but the noise comes from the mechanism and would be the same without a plate, when i push the shifter down kinda hard the sound and feeling just disappears and it feels normal. The shifter is new and all gears feel satisfying even shifting into 3 its just when going over neutral (3-4, 4-3)
Hi. Where did you order from? Without Hall sensor is totally fine. Just means it uses physical switches instead of magnetic sensors. The housing on the ones with switches are actually higher quality i find. Both are compatible with this mod. Have you ordered the mod yet?
@@oldboysimracing Thanks for the response, I ordered through the ali express link in the description. I haven't purchased the mod yet im waiting for it to arrive and make sure everything works before ordering it. But if it really is as loud as everyone says it is I'm definitely going to be getting the sound dampening mod
Wouldn't it be more effiecient to just put a rubber collar around the stick in order to silence the "clack" instead of a TPU layer around the gates? Or maybe even a combination of the two would deaden the sound even further.
@@Squad44ICOhappened I also just got some small rubber cable grommets, cut them in half and glued them to the ends of the gates and it's working really well. I also put two cut-in-half grommets down below where the stick hits off the mechanism. The only noise coming from the shifter now that isn't deadened is the small roller bearings in the mechanism that hit off eachother anytime the stick moves forward or back. I'm thinking of lining the inside of the box with sound deadening material might help with that.
Hi. Wrapping the stick does help a bit but I've found that it's super temporary as the top plate will chew away at whatever you wrap it with pretty quickly. I've run my mod for 9 months now with daily use with no ware. Also, it is much quieter than wrapping.
I just received this shifter and it's noticeably getting hung up from the top gears and not so much on the bottom. Is there a way to change the tension or this behavior or did I just get a dud? Nice video I'm considering your mod but I am using tape right now temporarily.
Hi. Just to clarify, your shifter without any mods sticks at top gears (1st, 3rd, 5th)? That sounds like some screws are too tight internally. If you watch part 2 of this series, it walks you through which screws should not be overtightened. Hope that helps.
@@oldboysimracing Awesome thanks! I see the spring contacts the plate whereas the bottom does not and is much smoother. I will check out your video, I was also suspecting too tight a screw. Also when I go into reverse it contacts the USB port so I am going to shave some of the top off so it doesn't cause more wear. Cheers
@@oldboysimracing So I took it apart and all the springs were different lengths and really loose so I managed to even it out and cut a little of the spring, so I think those were my 2 problems. I am looking at your kit I am considering purchasing it. Thanks for your help and your other video too, exactly what I was looking for!
Hi. I'm actually in the process of setting up a second ship location that would potentially be cheaper to ship to the UK. If you sub to the channel, I will be making a post as soon as that's live! I hope that helps.
@@oldboysimracing awesome news!! i want to buy also but also in the UK. as soon as you have your supplier sorted i''ll be buying! How long do you think until its setup? also, what is the diameter of the gear knob screw plz?
At least they provide steel screws. IDK how many cheap Chinese electronics I've ordered where the screws were also aluminum - so awful that even a wooden screwdriver (if such existed) would probably strip them. 😆
@@lightfantastik yes, that's one application. Also, sometimes you don't want steel screws going into raw aluminum parts as that could cause galvanic corrosion. Another application might be if you need to save weight but that's rare as the compromise in strength with aluminum screws is not worth the trade-off.
Great video! i've been meaning to buy the R+6
Thanks! It's a game-changer. Ask my wife, she now tolerates me driving manual cars in Assetto. 😅

Waiting for my 7 speed plate to show up. Can't wait.

Hey I just ordered this shifter, I chose the 6 R option without the hall sensor because I’m not really sure what that is, is the option I chose fine?

Awesome. I'm excited for you to see an proper before and after.
from where did you bought the "HALL effect sensor" for this shifter?
The full shifter assembly we sell on our side come with the hall effect sensor.

I wrapped some tape around mine and it helped, good idea

It's a shame that I'm in the UK, shipping adds another 50% to the cost of getting a couple of plates and a knob :(

True. Aluminum screws should be illegal when not absolutely necessary.
@@oldboysimracing so like, only in the manufacture of MRI machines (that's the only application I can think of for a non-ferrous screw, lol)?
