    The only thing better than seeing an authentic old Irish home like this is listening to you get all excited about them

    The fireplace is typical of houses in England and Wales and possibly Scotland too. And the fireplace ornaments are found all over UK too. The dressing table is lovely.

    The metal cupboard is a food safe , the old equivalent of a fridge. I think 99,000 is a lot for that when you think it needs practically rebuilding !

      Agree but the price is more for the land/location. Sounds like a lot of traffic so any business would do well.

    What a gorgeous wee house. I hope it's restored rather than modernised. I hate it when people rip the soul out of a place. Small rooms are perfect for keeping warm and ( apart from books!) we amass far too much stuff anyhow. I would love it .

    This place is so wonderful, it’s my dream to buy an old cottage like this and restore its former beauty. I have to say the distance from the road is a deal breaker for me but maybe I’m just trying not to be upset that its wayyy out of my price range😂
    It make so sad to think that the new owner might ignorantly throw the history of this house into the skip, or knock it entirely! Such a gorgeous little place, I’d love to uncover all its secrets❤️

    I would leave that house in tears. I would need to be forty years younger to clean it up, have four times the money to buy it, and be married to a builder to make it habitable. When my land sells in Australia, I dream of moving to Ireland, but not to somewhere like this.Its a museum installation not a home. €99,000 is not a steal, its robbery.

    • @dogsbodygrooming
      @dogsbodygrooming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Welcome to the Irish property market - it's absolutely insane. Stay where you are if you have a house of your own, it's gold. Half of Ireland can't even afford to buy derelict properties right now😒

    • @kalayne6713

      @@dogsbodygrooming Sadly, I don't own a house, only bushland that I don't have the money to build on. I don't care if I rent for the rest of my life, I am 70 and would like to make just one dream come true. And that dream is moving to Ireland where even if there is a housing shortage too, I won't have to live in fear of bushfires or snakes.Lose loved pets and nearly yourself, to fires and snakes and you may understand.

      That’s totally true. It had also never been extended and with the huge amount of land to the back you could easily put up a small extension. Under 40sq meters is even exempted from requiring planning permission as far as I’m aware 😱

    The upstairs area could easily be made more livable by adding dormer windows facing the backyard. Heck, I'd put a dormer across the entire backside of the roof, that way the front elevation would still look authentic.

      That road is literally lined with cottages. It’s full to the brim of family homes. I think this one seemed so noisy because it had the front door wide open to let in light so I could film. And the glass was broken in some of the windows. A bit of double glazing and you’d be sorted 👍🏻
