Yes they would, if you have a nice room, big enough and maybe acoustically treated. Otherwise, the small hs5 can do the job pretty fine. If you want something in the middle, kali Lp6 are a great choice, I’m using them right now
Can't we get good sound unless we turn the HS8 volume up too much? I don't have any neighbors, but my parents at home can only handle me playing loudly during the day :D Of course, it's not enough to make the house loud. At night low volume or use headphone. I think the presets we do at low volume at home may sound different on stage.
Hey man, I am looking to buy these because I feel like when I plug a backing track into my guitar amp it doesnt sound good mixed with my guitar because the amp is not FRFR, do you think if I bought these it would be a much better experience in terms of a more natural sound and a better balance between the backing track and guitar.
I meant that usually you should pass through an audio interface. My signal chain is Guitar - Amp - reactive load - audio interface - speaker If you just have the guitar and the speakers it's not enough
I am thinking of ditching my amp and replacing it with a studio monitor since I have a multieffects that has amp & cab sims is this a good idea or should I stick with my amp?
Are the HS5 monitors a good choice for playing guitar through amp sim software? I have no interest in recording, I just want a good sound when playing in a small room at quite low volume. Does anyone have any experience of other monitors for said purpose?
I play with a multi effect Boss core 1000GT and I have a rhytm player Boss RC-10R. It is very good with phones but on my amp it is so bad. Can I replace my amp by HS8 ?

Just a heads up none of the Yamaha HS monitor line should be placed on their sides. They're meant, and designed, to be placed upright. It doesn't ruin the sound but you will diminish the quality to some degree. Definitely wouldn't record with them like that. There are monitors that can be placed on there sides like this but Yamaha doesn't make any.
I went this route recently, neural dsp plugins gave me the guitar sound i wanted at home. Bought myself Presonus Eris E5 really happy with the sound im getting.
Well, I'm no professional by any stretch of imagination. But studio monitors are not supposed to sound good? They're supposed to give you a true reflection of the music you play, so what you record and mix sounds good in other systems aswell? In the car, with headphones, on your cell phone and on a big stereo system. I'd really like a pair of small monitors, like 4-5" but I'm afraid my mixes will be to bass heavy when playing them outside of the studio?
They don't have to sound good, but to sound "true" in order to make any adjustment you need on your mix. Regarding your concern yes, that's a bit risky and you can fix it double checking with a pair of headphones
By "organic" what do you mean? Please stop using that word for music production and art stuff. Big brands such as native instruments use "organic" as an adjective for their plugins... 😂 sorry but you're not using the word properly. Cheers.

I’m new to the modeling world. Would the HS8 be a good choice for home use with a Neural DSP Quad Cortex , for example?
Yes they would, if you have a nice room, big enough and maybe acoustically treated. Otherwise, the small hs5 can do the job pretty fine. If you want something in the middle, kali Lp6 are a great choice, I’m using them right now
Did you experience a difference in delay between the studiomonitors with a subwoofer and wihtout subwoofer?
can my guitar multiefx output straight into hs8 monitor? or need to use audio interface?
You can
@@TheGuitalian how about the sound? is it better than using normal amp like boss katana?
Did you actually play through the hs8’s?
Yes, i answered this question many times, read out the comments
Can't we get good sound unless we turn the HS8 volume up too much? I don't have any neighbors, but my parents at home can only handle me playing loudly during the day :D Of course, it's not enough to make the house loud. At night low volume or use headphone. I think the presets we do at low volume at home may sound different on stage.
You can but I’d rather choose another speaker. Hs8 move a lot of air
Are these good for playing at home. Some amp simp with Yamaha HS5 as the output sound?
Yes
Ma gli hs8 sono buoni da utilizzare anche in situazioni live? Perchè ho visto che hanno una potenza di 120w
No
Подскажите,пожалуйста,какими кабелями подключаете мониторы?Какой они длины?
Hey man, I am looking to buy these because I feel like when I plug a backing track into my guitar amp it doesnt sound good mixed with my guitar because the amp is not FRFR, do you think if I bought these it would be a much better experience in terms of a more natural sound and a better balance between the backing track and guitar.
way better indeed, but how will you manage to play your guitar and hearing it through the speakers?
@@TheGuitalian what do you mean by this?
I meant that usually you should pass through an audio interface.
My signal chain is Guitar - Amp - reactive load - audio interface - speaker
If you just have the guitar and the speakers it's not enough
@@TheGuitalian I was hoping to just go guitar to audio interface, monitors connected to interface, and use Guitar Rig 5 software to create my tones?
Yeah, that will work :)
Thank you for the video! How are you recording the audio from the monitors? :D
With the condenser mic, I think I explained it in the video
@@TheGuitalian thank you! I’ll look for it 💯 , I have adhd so sometimes my mind just trails off 😅
Don’t worry about that, the video is made to be viewed as many times as you want.
Cheers!
I am thinking of ditching my amp and replacing it with a studio monitor since I have a multieffects that has amp & cab sims is this a good idea or should I stick with my amp?
I my depends, I actually use an hybrid setup with the torpedo captor to use my amps. However the real cabinet is always the real deal
Are the HS5 monitors a good choice for playing guitar through amp sim software? I have no interest in recording, I just want a good sound when playing in a small room at quite low volume. Does anyone have any experience of other monitors for said purpose?
I Think they do a nice job for that
I play with a multi effect Boss core 1000GT and I have a rhytm player Boss RC-10R. It is very good with phones but on my amp it is so bad. Can I replace my amp by HS8 ?
Why not
Hello all, need to find this cause of excessive random noise coming out from my speaker hs8..connection guitar, hotone stage 2 ampero , line out using xlr to hs8 speakers..it happens randomly so I bit confused what's Goin on .. from hotone ampero it's on instrument output which is lower output compare to line out put..any advice will ve great guys..
Which daw and audio interface are you using?? I need some for neural dsp.
@@pramesh.gurung From neural dsp to focusrite scarlett from there to the monitor speakers.
@@nikverschuren4291 is it good??? I am also planning have same monitors. I also have solo.
Regarding your concern yes, that's a bit risky and you can fix it double checking with a pair of headphones

romance languages have no h sound if you wonder

Thought you were going to play guitar
I did
By "organic" what do you mean? Please stop using that word for music production and art stuff. Big brands such as native instruments use "organic" as an adjective for their plugins... 😂 sorry but you're not using the word properly. Cheers.
I like your comment. It's so organic
@@TheGuitalian like cofee...
And Yamaha modx players 😂
bad
The moment you discuss the HS8 you will see the HS8 in the background on the left and right of your desk. The moment you play your guitar to test that HS8, the HS8 is not on the desk, but the HS5! This video Yamaha test is FAKE!!!!
Ahaha it's not fake dude, the VIDEO is always the same for all the 3 speakers, because I wanted to use the SAME performance. THEN I mic'd up the different speakers PLAYING BACK what I recorded in the VIDEO. You are watching me playing all the time because I thought that watching a video of a mic standing still would have been boring.
I don't understand why should I spend hours and hours of my time making a fake video that would have no point at all :)
@@TheGuitalian perhaps he listens with his eyes 😉
Long ass video for something that could have been 3 minutes. Damn.
You could watch it at 4x
