    Do you have any problem lowering you be with the top bunk down? I have my top bunk down, but i have tools and heavy items up there. Lowering my lower bed gets stuck between the ladder and the front edge lip on my bed. I really don't want to trim it. I thought about removing the rubber feet on the ladder?

    Are you able to have a high quality mattress that will fold up or only a thin cheap one? Doesn't look like a lot of room for a thicker mattress.

    • @bigginztrucking4698

      I feel pretty confident you can get a better mattress. I currently use a gel/foam mattress topper, two sheets, and two blankets. It shuts for me without issue so I assume I have room if needed.

      Appreciate the love boss! It is a Galanz microwave and I ordered it from Walmart for around $110 or so. Biggest microwave I could find to put in that spot lol. I have a 26” tv which is the largest “official” size it will hold. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any new 26” tvs so I actually grabbed mine from FB marketplace. I’m kind of jelly. Two thoughts though. I don’t like the yellow grab handles. Of course, I don’t like the orange seatbelts in my 2020 Cascadia. I agree about the carpet. However, I use washable area rugs because I don’t like leaving what I track in on my feet in the truck permanently. That said, your carpet looks much neater. 👍🏻

      Thanks for watching Terry! I vacuum quite a bit so I don’t have a ton of leftover outside debri but washable is nice. I have done that in other trucks. I’ve always loved the trucks spec’d out with carpet from the factory and I was determined to have it when I bought this truck. Thank you for your thoughts.

The load board has things all over but mostly east of i35. But I see enough that if I had to play regional for a short week or something I could stay around the southeast to make a few bucks.

    • @bigginztrucking4698
      @bigginztrucking4698  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Marie! Thank you for the very kind words. I did not measure anything really. I just bought an area rug from Walmart, 6x9 I believe and before I put anything in the truck to be in my way I laid it down as best I could and started cutting away lol. Remember when you’re cutting to leave extra because a good part of it will tuck into the trim along the sides. That will give it the clean “from factory” look. And I just used a pocket knife to cut it and had no real issues. It does not have to be cut perfectly because again, it will be tucked into the trim and will appear flush.

    I hope they had the glass window on the side. I was talking to my account administrator about that. Do we we have choice of that, I don't like when they don't have the glass window. The steering should be leather wrapped instead. As a premium truck, I believe SFI should have built them better.

    • @bigginztrucking4698
      @bigginztrucking4698  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! The best thing is definitely the table, really a game changer on the road. The worst thing is the optimized idle system. It is supposed to conserve fuel by only cycling on the truck when the battery’s get too low while the heat/air is on and the truck is off but it seems to run an awful lot. So either my batteries are piss poor or the system overall is flawed.

      I know this thread is a bit old. Wanted to comment on SFI’s reason for specing these trucks with EPUs: California has basically banned the use of APUs. And while that’s without question imbecilic thinking on Cali’s part, SFI didn’t want to lease trucks to guys who would be restricted from operating in a state that’s banned their ability to use a component on their rig. I think we’d all prefer an APU over an EPU, and SFI use to equip their trucks with APUs. That said, it’s odd that your truck would need to idle so much, hopefully with this thread being more than a year old, you’ve been able to get it addressed.

    So whenever I need to use a writing surface, I need to flip all of my bedding up and deal with that "lounge" contraption ? Wonderful . Turdliners are junk trucks plain and simple... how do I know ? Because my company issued me a brand new Cascadia back in 2020, and I hated it from the moment I got in it. Half of the stuff didn't work correctly, including electrical problems. The fridge door wouldn't even stay closed ! I begged for my 2015 T680 back, but I was stuck with the turdliner. JUNK !!

      @bigginztrucking4698  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mr Poo your thoughtfully articulated insight regarding the new Freightliner is much appreciated. It’s definitely a bummer your overall experience with this unit was a negative one. Perhaps you are correct that it is simply better to not have the option for a table and chairs at all. For many it is best to use the swinging table built into the T680 and sit on the bed and eat unless you’re lucky enough to have the nice swivel seats up front. Unfortunately I had 3 different 2015 T680s and had the same issues you mentioned with your Freightliner. I guess there are “lesser than” units in every fleet. Mr Poo I appreciate what you do for us out here on the road and I pray you can get back your good and trusty money maker. Drive on driver! 😎
