It's the stock antenna. It seems to do a good job, I never have any problems talking. The Galaxy radio I have has an internal circuit to automatically adjust SWR.
It is mounted. The panel is replaceable and can be swapped out. It takes a little work but is worth the effort. Industrial strength velcro is used to secure the iPad (the white hard type of velcro).
How is the one you listen to your music mounted? I’ve got a RM tablet with the extra bump out on the back that you have to use and I have yet to find a good way to mount the darn thing because it’s so heavy.
It's mounted using a RAM mount. There are a lot of different options for whatever tablet you are using. The link below is for the base mount and adjustable arm. Then you select the correct holder for your device. It all bolts together, which holds it securely. You will need to screw the base to the dash wherever you want it.
