Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) was the one who started Kate´s career. He supported her financially and productive on her first record! A Pink Floyd magic condition planted that mysterious seed
I'm not at all surprised Pink Floyd liked her, she's very artistic and unique but at the same time very musically talanted. Honestly would have fit in Pink Floyd even if her music is different.
@@teijaflink2226 The flip side of this album is a 7 song prog suite called "The Ninth Wave" Similar in concept to "Dark side Of The Moon" except maybe for instrumentation.
i always dreamed about her when i fished where she used to live, she was my hero when i was 8 yrs old, still is now, cloud busting.......changed me forever
Wow, what an amazing performance. Rock legend (Dave Gilmour) gives his own special treatment to what was then one of the most popular contemporary tracks. Shows the vocal verstatility of Kate Bush who was equally at ease with thundering rock riffs. No crazy antics, no suggestive dance moves, no revealing clothes...just pure TALENT!!! What a lovely combo
Dale Malcolm He plays on "Rocket's Tail" and "Love And Anger" from her following album "The Sensual World". Also backing vocals on "Pull Out The Pin" 1982.
Brilliant. Great artists like Kate usually have a range of albums that you can go back and keep listening to, discovering new things each time. 'Hounds of Love' is an absolute masterpiece. Very mysterious and experimental in parts, yet very commercial too. It's now 37 years old and yet still sounds as fresh as ever.
You know you're a baller when David Gilmour is the guitarist in your backing band... wow. What a great gift to history that this performance was captured live and engineered and recorded so well.
@@generalyellor8188 I entirely disagree with your assessment. In the 80s when this song came on the radio, I'd change the f'ing station. It was just whiny synth-pop. But this version with Tony Franklin and David Gilmour rocks! I'd have bought this version. I was never a Kate Bush fan, but this is exceptional. The video quality is better here (still not great) but the cleaned up audio on the HDPinkFloyd TH-cam channel really showcases Tony's driving, growling bass and David's sizzling guitar tone. She seems to be enjoying it too.
This version ROCKS. The original and other bands covering are great. This is my favorite version so far. Band is feeling and easy song to play, but that beat is driving them. Gilmour just does Gilmour.
Four Gods on stage - Bush, Gilmour, Franklin, and Elliot! Tony Franklin played bass for The Firm, and I was lucky enough to see and hear him play when they came round on tour to support their two “albums” and was also very fortunate to have school mates that loved playing The Firm’s music in our band’s live shows

They slept together clearly.

Tony franklin’s playing on this is perfect.
So is David Gilmours
Bass and Mullet. Perfect combo.
No autotune, oh thank god. when she gives "Hurt me" slightly sharp, it drives the passion into the stratosphere... love love love.
Real talented singers don't use auto tune when singing live.
There was a slightly flat "smaller" as well.
Just a little over the top there.
Auto tune wasn't invented till the late 90s and doing it live wasn't a thing till quite recently
@@williamcarver5127 yup was only a post-process effect at first, but sadly it has become sort of a default default now and is available live
