Which is hilarious because this game was specifically designed for an America audience because they believed Final Fantasy would have been too complicated for them.
I loved that about this game. Take the Ice Golem for example, the more you damage it, the more it starts melting until it's just a puddle of water with one arm barely sticking out. Really loved that attention to detail.

This game is an absolute classic, and I only realized that the magic works kinda like it did in the early final fantasy days, with a spell costing one spell use.
It is a great game and the best of all is that it is not difficult to pass it nor does it last so long, so I recommend that you give it a chance when you can. 😉😉😉
Hey Crazy Ghost! Did you know that if you equip the claw weapon in battle (any of them) - You get MAG+5 ? You can select it in battle whenever you're going to cast a spell for additional damage or healing. (Swords grant you SPD+5)

I don’t get why all games nowadays feel like they need to have super complex stories and game mechanics. Sometimes you play a game just to have fun, which is why people still like this game (and also nostalgia, I guess)
I 100% agree with you!!! And not because they have a complex story, a great list of skills to obtain or many Side Quets to lengthen the game unnecessarily, make RPGs good games. Because of the simplicity of this game, I have won it more than 6 times, many more times than any RPG game I have played and I would play it again. 😁😁😁😁
I still don't get why this game gets so much negativity. The music is amazing, the art is good, the magic system is based on old-school D&D mechanics, I never felt like putting it down because I was bored or whatever.

The main reason for the negativity is largely due to the fact that After FF4 came west, people were expecting FF5 to land here, but this is what came west instead. And lovers of 4 didn't appreciate the next game being "baby's first RPG". The game by itself is by no means bad. Its just a very easy rpg. Designed specifically to be "baby's first RPG".

I think this game is kinda impressive in some ways. Yeah its really easy and basic but its interesting to see sprites change as you damage foes and the music is pretty banger.

It's weird to see Behemoth as the first boss, considering for most FF games, Behemoth are endgame mobs and probably one of the most annoying out there, other than Malboro and Vilia(FF6)

*Spoilers ahead, you've been warned* I don't know why this player is using the life spell to heal wounds, as by the time you fight the Flamesaurus Rex, you should have tons of cure potions and the Cure Spell for the player by then. But still a good video. Personally I always speed through the text in battle but that's me. Oh yeah and if you try using a Game Genie for this game, it only gives you ONE D*MN CODE!!! (Ahem sorry didn't mean to yell there😜). The code is for infinite cure potions FYI. *Sigh* 😔 Also another interesting but weird thing about this game is that after you defeat a strong boss-like enemy, it becomes a normal weak one. The exception of course are the bosses protecting the Crystals and the final boss. But every other mini boss in this video do that. As an added bonus, they still keep thier weaknesses and are much weaker than before. An example would be after you beat the water boss, you get the Knight's Sword for the player. Snake like female enemies appear in the battle fields near the temple, and one swipe from said sword kills them instantly, where as prior to getting the sword it took even Phoebe two hits with her Bow of Grace to kill one. Also two things about the last battles before the Dark King, first when fighting the Skullruss Rex use the Dragon Claw on him for a one hit K.O. 2nd, when facing the Dark King himself, use the Cure spell on him to deal MASSIVE damage to him on turn one. Also when you first get Phoebe to join you, she can help clear the battle fields for you but bring ALOT of acorns or put her on manual as she has a lot of spells, and isn't afraid to use them in auto mode. She also starts with the Cats Claw weapon but gives it to the player later FYI. Great video BTW. 😎

I would just like to mention that I don't like to do a trick or any action during the battles that kick the boss in one hit as it would be very boring to watch, that's why I don't use the Cure spell against the Dark King nor the Dragon Claw against Skullruss Rex . Regarding using Game Genie, I only use it in case it is impossible to have an item if you play the normal game and for FFMQ all items are easily achieved. I love this Final Fantasy, it's easy to understand, you don't get lost but it's not easy either. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

I didn’t know that as a 7 year old at the time. I just thought it was cool to make the blue devil appear. Exit does wonders for the battleground stages though

this game gets a lot of shit but this game was one of the 5 games I had growing up when I only had the snes, and it was amazing the music would inspire me, Benjamin throwing his hands up like "WTF?" after certain moments def made me laugh, the translation is still GOOD when you compare it to a bunch of other titles from that time it was made intentionally easy, but they did allow for a lot of menu options like having your AI be manual or auto, so if you wanted to make the fights harder you certainly could, there are def times where I felt like i missed a resist item so whenever I had to deal with petrify I was TERRIFIED cause I knew if I didn't go in the fight fully prepared I would probably be trying over and over and over just to let chance grant me victory but yeah like other people said, the monsters getting visually weak through the fights are SO SICK, like that's the kind of design choice that works in everything, it literally gassed me into beating the last boss (this was before I accidentally casted heal my second playthrough on the dark king), bc he had so many forms lmao it's impossible for me to rate because for so many it doesn't even qualify as a game? and im so nostalgic for it, I still have my cartridge, and it has a hole in the top n still runs like a champ
You have to appreciate the games, not for their graphics but for the good experiences they leave us. And the songs in this game are epic!! I don't think the monsters are weird, since many other RPGs look worse, even the current ones. I never liked using the Cure technique in the Dark King, it didn't seem very fair to me. I think I have won this game more than 7 times and I never get bored. 😁😁😁😁

I always found it interesting that your companion always felt stronger than you. Ben got put into the support role pretty much from Phoebe onward.
I guess it's to balance the main character in case the player is inexperienced.
Need to do another play through of this game. The ost is just that good considering the limited resources the snes had.

Some of the enemies in the game can be killed using heal. I remember doing that when I was a kid

I don't think the monsters are weird, since many other RPGs look worse, even the current ones. I never liked using the Cure technique in the Dark King, it didn't seem very fair to me. I think I have won this game more than 7 times and I never get bored. 😁😁😁😁

O jogo não é muito longo, nem muito complicado. Recomendo que você não pare de lutar com todos os inimigos, isso te dará muita experiência. Principalmente as 10 lutas que aparecem ao avançar pelo mapa, já que te dão objetos se você os vencer. 😉😉😉😉😉

Nem é longo o jogo, é que a fase do dualhead hidra é grande, pôr isso eu achei que era longo,mas quando eu passar,vai ser melhor
