The game was made to be a tutorial, an introduction to RPG's for which it does a fine job. It's a fun/relaxing game and gets you prepped for more complex titles such as FFIV, FFVI, and Chrono Trigger.
Youngsters would probably qualify this gem as "shit", even if they never played it :P One of the first RPG to be released on the SNES. Yeah i know the graphics look bad but we can't expect amazing graphics from a game that old. Of course there is the "new HD remastered" version that is a fan made but even if the graphics of that one are amazing it's not worth your time because of the ridiculously weak hero and the overpowered enemies that can practically kill the hero with 1-2 hits. To make a long story short, he scammed everyone, ran away with the money and released one last release that is unplayable - like a big f-you to those who supported him - even those who contributed for musics and sprites.
This one almost uses a system similar to early Dragon Quest games, but still remains FF with its characters showing in battle. Another battle system a little parted ways with traditional FF games, but still good.

I love how damaged monsters change their looks, I know it's easier said than done but all RPGs should do this.
I use to play this game so much when I was in 2nd grade, it's crazy to look back at it now and realize how much time has actually passed.

I played this game when I was 12 and loved it.
