As a UK enthusiast, we have a large quantity of good coasters but very few standout ones. I’m very excited for Exodus cause that definitely looks like it will be the country’s best coaster.

Agreed we have a lot of good but not great coasters. Honestly its a shame about the treeline rules at Alton Towers. I do honestly think that they would at least do a hyper of some sort there if they could but alas. Exodus looks fun but its a shame that there still isnt that airtime machine we are all after.

    Japan’s coaster collection includes
    - A hypercoaster that passes over and through buildings within a city block
    - The world’s fastest accelerating coaster
    - A 4th-dimension monstrosity
    - Ultra Twisters
    - A giga coaster with nearly 2.5 km of track
    - An absolutely gorgeous RMC hybrid
    - An inverting spinning coaster with a built-in video game
    - An unassuming 1980s looping coaster with possibly the most insane first drop in the world
    - A ride along the back of a massive steel stegosaurus
    - A family coaster with a launch powered by riders’ screams
It’s the mixture of depth, quality and unmistakable uniqueness that makes Japan my top pick

Japan is pretty amazing. They're in a weird situation in that they have so many parks that seem to be in decline--probably a victim of the country's demographics. But there are several big parks that still seem to be going strong: Fuji-Q, Nagashima Spa Land, the Disney and Universal parks. I'd love to go. Though it's not for the coasters, which are nothing special, many theme-park fans regard Tokyo DisneySea as the single greatest theme park in the world.

As a German enthusiast I actually do think that it’s the best country to live for coaster enthusiasts in Europe also because we’re pretty close to the other European countries that are good for coasters like Denmark the Netherlands Poland, France and Belgium.
Best coaster in Germany is easily Kärnan, but probably only until Voltron opens at Europapark

Great video! Looking forward for your trip report from Europe. I’m sure you gonna love Wildfire and Helix, as well as Piraten and Fønix. Wildfire in the backrow is incredible. And you can ride it with the maximum amount of room if you want to, you just have to tell the ops when they check your restraints. I'd put Germany at #1, I take a trip there every year from the UK. The quality of theming they put into their parks is unmatched outside of Disney & Universal. Also worth saying that if anybody is taking a trip to Italy, do not miss out on Movieland Park which is just down the road from Gardaland and waaay better. It doesn't have much of a coaster lineup but has some unique and crazy experiences you won't find anywhere else, and it's great value for money.

Honestly for the UK pretty much right-currently nothing top-top tier but a lot of solid fun rides. I seriously need to get to Germany as I somehow havent been. I am going to Japan this year but because I'm on a tour and a disney fan as well as a coaster fan I dont have time to get to Fuji Q as I have to prioritise DisneySea and time in Tokyo although I will definately be heading to Thunder Dolphin as its really close to the hotel. I agree on the US having the best coasters. Even for an easily get too off the plane in major desinations you can hit some of the best. I probably wouldnt have fallen in love with Ghost Rider or appreciated Knotts like I do without your vlog so thanks, really solid park. Ive already done Velocicoaster but am hoping to drag friends to Iron Gwazi and Mako this year.
Hopefully I will get to Cedar Point next year for a bucket list coaster trip down the parks on a drive down the East Coast but its going to take some planning as it is not easy to get to there from the UK as a starting point.

I live in Italy and I've been on all of the main coasters of the country.
ISpeed and Katun are definetly the best ones, but the third in my opinion is one you didn't mention: Shock at Magicland. I find it pretty underrated, it's short, but quite intense and has some really nice airtime. Gardaland is the best park in Italy, and it also happens to be my home park, I live about 2 and a half hours away. I've been visiting it every year since I was 2 years old. Raptor and Oblivion are fun and well themed, but the park definetly needs a standout coaster. Next to Gardaland is Movieland, which is in my opinion the second best park of the country. The Storm at Etnaland is also quite fun, the first drop and hills have some nice ejector. Altair at Cinecittà has some really nice and snappy corkscrews along with the insane final five consecutive heartline rolls that try to toss you out of the seat, but the first half is pretty dull in my opinion, and it gets very rattly the further back in the train you go.
Also, I live about 4 hours away from Europa Park, and in two weeks I'm visiting it for the first time ever, along with Tripsdrill!

I would rate Sweden above Belgium just for the overall quality and originality of their coasters and parks. Grona Lund is incredible, if only for the sheer number of rides they packed into the available space. You will love it! I'm heading to Denmark for the first time myself this year and they have some great looking creds there. As a UK resident it is impressive how many coasters we have really, but the quantity is sadly not matched by quality, with only Nemesis being world class.

I studied abroad in Spain last year and Port Aventura resort and Monte Igualdo in the Basque Country are the only major parks I'm missing there. I did hit up a lot of smaller parks like Parque de Atraciones de Zaragoza (imagine Knoebles but without everything that makes it good but add random fun houses, a Zyclon-probably best of 3 coasters, a standard Zamperla kids coaster like Little Devil or Woodstock Express at Dorney Park, and then a random shuttle coaster with 2 tracks and sarcophagus heads on the cars with a pyramid facade-but only one side operates because the park is usually dead and struggles to get enough people to dispatch half the time), and Isla Magica (which I guess is more about the show and they only have an SLC and a knock-off wacky worm with mine cart cars, the dark ride is just okay since I'm a leftie and the ride's guns are only accommodating to right-handed players). Beyond the parks and San Isidro Fair in Madrid, I did Tibidabo, Europa Park, the Forie du Nancy and Walibi Rhone-Alps and both Mystic and Timber failed to meet my expectations (its impossible not to get stapled on Timber and I expected Mystic to have more force-then again it was like 70F/20C so maybe you get more Hang Time during Halloween and cooler days. Their Zamperla Mouse sucks, The boomerang has lap bars and is by far the best ride in the park, I'd put the tower rides and flume [didn't ride] and Rapids in the top 5. A Large Tivoli is a large tivoli, but their old Jungle Cruise-esque ride, Tam-Tam Adventure, was overgrown and lost its drum playing gimmick-I also think some effects were down and reflects the post-2008 direction of the Walibi IP)

Smiler is just crazy you get off thinking what the hell just happened. Then at Thorpe. Saw the eurofighter. Again great theme you come off feeling like you just been in a dog fight. as an australian resident i have ridden most permanent main coasters (besides green lantern ((ton of maintenance)) steel taipan, gold coaster ((haven’t been to dreamworld)) wild mouse ((closed for maintenance)) or any roller coasters in victoria ((didn’t go to any theme parks while there )) or abyss in perth ((never been to perth))) and they are all pretty solid rides, dc rivals is real fun, superman escapes lauch is pretty quick and well themed, big dipper is a pretty good time and leviathan is pretty rickety and leaves you injuries for a bit but it has a ton of forces.

‘It Doesn’t Seem Like the UK has many great rides’ from around 1995 to 2016 the UK was the place for innovation, Nemesis is still the best bnm ride, as you Americans would say ‘period’ 😅. I think Merlin (they own Legoland Alton Towers Thorpe Park and Chessington woa) and previous companies that owned those parks were about innovation and were not done yet! Can’t wait for mandrill, exodus and SW9 because I think we’re going back to innovation and making that great

You're right about all the innovative rides there from the late 90s and early 2000s. Im just looking at the lineup and trying to find anything top 50 worthy. Maybe smiler, maybe nemesis. But until that Mack opens at Thorpe i cant point to anything as something that will for sure be at the top of my list

I'm planning a trip to Abu Dhabi next year, and I will be sure to stop at Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World Dubai, and possibly IMG World of Adventure! I'm also going to France for a wedding, Israel for a Bar Mitzvah, Turkey, and the Netherlands, which is like my second home.

Let me tell you those Jinma (Golden Horse) coasters do NOT run well. Most of them ran like old Vekomas (at least when I rode them) but very few of them were decent. A couple friends and families I have living in China also told me that some of those "decent" ones did not hold up well...
I'll be back this summer to visit families and I'll hopefully grab a few rerides. Excited to ride Dinoconda and Wood Coaster again. (kinda surprised that you didn't mention those crazy Chinese GCI's haha).

Japan is my pick. Germany's great too, as is China, but Japan has the most depth to their line-up in my opinion. The stand-outs for me are everything at Fuji-Q Highland, Steel Dragon 2000, Hakugei, Surf Coaster Leviathan, Music Coaster, Bandit, Jupiter, Kawasemi, and Flying Dinosaur. Eejanaika is a top three coaster in the world. It could a little smoother, but it's like a fully realized X2, with even more intensity. A terrifying -beast- kaiju of a coaster. Takabisha is a cool ride with throws so many elements at you, and is smoother than it's newer clone, Do-Dodonpa is a one trick pony, but that trick is world class, and Fujiyama is glass smooth with very underrated airtime. Bandit is basically the same, but with a nicer setting, Surf Coaster Leviathan is like a mini version of both but arguably has even better airtime and some great positives too, making for one of the most complete ride experiences out there, and Music Coaster, just check it out. This thing's got like the El Toro drop going on, then a camelback, and a double helix finale followed by an abrupt hop into the brakes, providing a great mix of ejector and float air, and even some positives on this helixes. This thing needs more love. It looks so fun, almost like a prototype B&M hyper, that somehow manages to be better than the country's only B&M hyper. Steel Dragon 2000 is so underrated too. Worst giga coaster, my arse. It's smooth as glass, has awesome airtime and mixes thing up on the turn-around with some speed and laterals, and you really feel that speed, plus the finale isn't trimmed. This is not just big Mamba, this is a world class coaster. Hakugei has a bit of an odd layout for an RMC, but that's what makes it more special. It feels distinct and every element really packs a punch. Kawasemi is a small, yet punchy airtime machine and Jupiter is a monster of a wooden coaster. It's so long and airtime packed, again this ride needs more love, and finally the dinosaur. What can I say? Great views, intensity, and the theming you'd expect from Universal, so yeah Japan has top tier coasters in the world, but really elevates it over other countries for me is it's second tier line-up which goes so deep. Venus GP, Dialvo, Pyrenees, Reigna II, Ultra Twisters, Acrobat, Schwarzkopf's and so much more, plus I'm forgetting about Thunder Dolphion and Disney's coasters. truly one of the greatest countries on Earth for roller coasters. Sorry for making a wall of text proving how much of a weeb I am, but Japan, man, they know how to do coasters.

I think you're sleeping on Finland. Between Taiga, Junker and Tornado, plus the vintage Vuoristorata and a solid support line-up, I think their line-up is up there with the rest of Scandinavia. But it's hard to look past Germany as the top pick here. China is let down by operational malaise.

Well, I just rode my first non-US coasters ever, they were in Spain, and I can say that PortAventura's B&M hyper Shambhala immediately rocketed to my all-time #3 spot, and you could make a case for it being higher. The B&M looper that intertwines with it, Dragon Khan, is one of the most intense coasters I've ever ridden and a 25-year-old version of me would probably have loved it more than I did, but it's well worth riding if you are hardcore.
I really wanted to check out Abismo when I was in Madrid a while ago, but there was a historic heat wave on at the time and it was kind of unbearable to be outside.
I think for roller coasters and amusement rides in general, Germany is my bucket-list country right now. Would love just to visit Phantasialand and Europa Park.

I want to warn you based on my coaster trip to Spain a few years back: you will almost certainly miss at least one credit you really wanted because of bad luck. And it will be 100x more painful than missing one in the US. So just mentally prepare yourself for that, because I was crushed with Shambhala.

@@Timo-qk9qz I wanted to go to Parque de Atracciones de Madrid and check out Abismo but there was a killer triple-digit heat wave going on and it just did not seem wise or worth it.
I probably would have ridden more coasters at Port Aventura if I hadn't wasted the whole morning trying to get coins for the lockers, and if I had put off riding Dragon Khan (which is so intense that it had me not wanting to ride for a while after). Ended up not doing Furius Baco or Red Force. But Shambhala is worth the price of admission by itself.
