Great work bro! Really crisp and clean paint work on this guy. Excellent job on the water-slides as well! I find classic Gundam paint schemes (white, blue, yellow, and red) can look monotonous but you really nailed it here. Look forward to see what you build next.

@@DCG909 did you get the ver. ka assault buster set? My understanding is the in the base ver. ka set, the core fighter has the yellow wheres the ver. Ka assault buster core fighter has the gold
@@kelvinmok10 Have had it sitting on my shelf for almost a year now(?) (Big backlog of kits I kinda rank lower). That's correct. Base V2 Ver.Ka has yellow, Assault Buster (p-bandai) has gold. Do note that the addon (the separate expansion you can buy, like PG Perfect Strike) also seems to feature yellow parts. Save for the shield all the gates on the golden parts are either out of sight.
Ive said it before, But this V2 looks awesome. Regarding gloss coats, I use future but I know when i use gloss over metallic finishes it does tend to dull the metallic finish a lil especially if you bomb it. I've had great results with doing light coats over like 2 days. so light coat then let it cure a bit etc. But judging from what i've seen in the vid I think your V2 has come out looking really great and the paintjob is spot on.
I feel you on the paint not quite being what you envisioned, in that gold never seems take clear coat as well as I plan either. The best results I have had lately have been from switching to an Alclad brand automotive style black primer designed for lacquer, two coats of a gold lacquer and 3 coats of high gloss clear lacquer, all with a lot of dry time in between so everything can not just dry, but cure before the next coat. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but feel free to try it. You might love the results. Keep up the good work with the channel and the Gundam kits.
I've actually gotten really nice gold colors using a variant of this method. Model Master Gloss Black base coat, Alclad Chrome on top of that, and then just a few light layers of tamiya clear orange actually makes it slowly go from a brass to bronze to brilliant shiny metallic gold with a few light layers. If you go too heavy you do end up eventually at a candy orange finish.
did you have any trouble with the legs? Mine actually split at the back when putting them together the connection was super tight, it wasnt actually a problem, it just made it look like a seam line and the part stayed together, but still, i would think after painting it would be even tighter fit there.

Still lacking some gray on the VSBRs and yellow inside the wing binders
yes. I decided not to paint those areas as they aren't really visible when looking at the kit from the front (as you mostly would).
