I'm glad you mentioned the Second V. That's my favorite version as well. Similar armaments to this one, but with a better weapon platform and armor like the normal Victory.
The MG is problematic due to its transformable frame, and I've heard that transformable MG Ver Ka kits of its time are quite the handful. The HG does a good job of representing the MS except the gold, so it's an alright pick for a kit to go for
Oh they didn’t forget. Just like how they made the Minovsky output “wings” connect to the buster parts differently than the regular backpack, it’s part of their evil scheme to make you buy TWO V2s just to get all the necessary parts
hell yeah. But I fear the gold parts will be bad. It would be nice, if Bandai swaps gold for the white. I saw custom with that color scheme and it looks amazing.
I got this long time ago... Gave it to a friend after house moving as the kit is scattered into pieces. but I still got the MG :D My Gundam game main, love the V2AB and that's why I am good with every V2AB in every Gundam game
Alternatively, you can buy Assault Buster and standalone V2, then build V2 Assault and V2 Buster as two separate units and you also get to use beam parts from the standalone version.
hey, I asked this under another video, but I wonder where can you find waterslides for these kinda old and not so popular HGs? V2 Assault Buster has a G-Rework decals, so it's cool. But what about let's say Gundam X or Double XX? There aren't even bundles, like for UC, Seed or 00. I just want some iconic decals like model number and other stuff.
You might have to get those custom printed if you can't find any that are pre-made. Might be worth joining my server and asking a broader pool of people
The manual confused me as i was bulding it😂 Took me halfway through the kit for me to realise what VA..VB ....VAB stands for.I have never come across a box that let you have more than one ways to build a kit. With everything throwned in together,you get a huge ,imposing and armed to the teeth with massive guns and thick armors.The build is solid through and through no loose parts that keeps falling off. It was so close to perfection!If only Bandai gave us extra parts for us to swap between modes without disassembling the back pack.A few more pieces for better colour separation for the shield and to cover up the hollower section of the waist guard.The useless corefighter included in the set could have gone to those. I painted my mine with gold paint built it without the cannon/launcher so i can get chest and bagpack together form a massive V.
Sounds like a fresh experience for you building a kit with multiple configurations. Though I admit the V2AB doesn't have the most user friendly manual nor is it the tamest build in thr world, it still a good kit to pick up
That was my second kit and I didn't really like the 'gold' elements that really are yellow, so I painted them with Gundam Marker EX White Gold and it looks so much better now! I would advise it to anyone that has or going to buy this kit :)
I got this kit after built the V2 Gundam. Im going to build as the Assault Buster. And maybe when I get two plus two V Dash I can do a Hexa Assault and Hexa Buster
I'm not the biggest fan of gundam victory either as I find it to be a complete Mess of a story and I'm not Really that interested in any of the character's but at least this model kit is a recommendation. That said how can you have a gundam model kit and not let it have beam sabers. It's almost disgusting but at least this has a pretty interesting silhouette. Good review!
The omission of the beams is a dirty strategy by Bandai to get you to have the normal HGUC V2 first, which has the beams, instead of including everything in this kit and making the standard one obsolete
The 90s designs are all similar in size. The HG FA Gundam from Thunderbolt might be better for if you want a standard sized unit with just as many weapons
this was my very first gunpla kit and seeing this review really bring back those memories. i've lost it for some reason but i will buy it again
That's a shame that you lost it, but it's quite decent of a kit if you don't decide to switch back and forth

The Second V is a mix of both Victory Gundams and their upgrades, so it would be a bit sinful to leave it out
HG Victory kits are one of the very best high grades out there. Nice details, good articulation, and fixed problems that plagued the MG.

Maybe I just got used to huge decal sheets but the sticker sheet in this kit definitely didn't seem "massive" to me
In hindsight, no, as we've had worse nowadays. But before SEED Freedom, it is a large sticker sheet for an HG
Fun fact : Some madlad in Gunsta website kitbashed HG Second V and Phantom Gundam into Phantom Gundam Assault Buster 🤯🤯🤯

The yellow really bugs me because some has that glossy coating while the others is just flat.
They yellow on the Assault armor is meant to be gold, that's why

Cause the V-shape from torso to BP not attached , not like mg version or second V hg
Yeah.. It's not as cohesive of a V on this kit after the Buster equipment is on

The original backpack with full armor v2 is better.
