  • The answer is yes i seek attention, but maybe I'm not a terrible person.
Attention seeking is natural and common (especially with mental illness).
It can be harmful to the person or others (lying, misinformation, discriminatory remarks, doxxing yourself)... but more often than not is just a person expressing themselves. Faking or manipulating is not ok but some people are genuine, and it is only harmful if they force someone into giving their attention and energy.

I enjoy your videos and look forward to them when you post them. I find them interesting and engaging. I am a counselor/psychotherapist, and I am also an INFP and I find a lot of commonalities in some of your experiences to one's that I have experienced. The negative comments are not about you as much as they are about what the commenter is experiencing. Everyone is different and everyone has a unique experience. Try not to take the negative comments too seriously. ~Rocky

    Hi Ingrid,
I guess you know what I think of you.
I can be quite sensitive to comments from videos about things I care about.
Well if you didn't post some of these videos I wouldn't have known you. Same applies for other people I met through the internet.
As a regular commenter on your videos if I do so that often is because I appreciate you and in many videos I felt heard and seen despite we come from different backgrounds. Also when I chose to share some details of my life on the internet is because I somehow found out it's the way it works for me to find people who resemble me in some struggles. I was really hesitant to do so, I remember my first comment was on one of bufo's video which resonated with me so much it made me cry several times. At that moment I felt some sort of connexion and felt comfortable commenting then it somehow clicked.
Some people didn't have the chance to find people in real life that's why we seek connexion through the internet, I don't know if I can call it attention seeking it's just we are human beings looking for people who respect us and appreciate us as we are with our struggles no matter how strange they can be.
I've said it already but I'm here for the person who became my friend and I'm willing to stick around through thin and thick.
    See you next time friend

Since the posts were removed, I can't match the names to the couple bad actors I'm familiar with out there. And there are a few bad actors that exploit people through the MBTI community. The sorts of people who will throw out this sort of accusation because they know it'll force an INFP to give it headspace, processing the accusation.
I'm sorry to say, I have experience with this sort of bad actor who's doing it merely for their lulz. Getting some sort of kick out of putting one over on an INFP. 😟

@@dulles1969 yes i had to remove the bad comments, i got 2 on here and one on my shorts right after posting the video. I try not to get in a loop but it gets to me anyway. Someone yesterday found it appropriate to tell me my teeth are gross and yellow 😒 so yeah people can be very rude, quite often...

I remember this very topic sending me into a spiral ten years ago where I was called an attention-seeker for having a TH-cam channel, for my comic, blah blah. Because it's like, true and completely unfair lol. The person in question was saying they don't have a TH-cam channel because they aren't self-centred like me (it was an ISFJ) and it was very draining and made me so upset, actually. Because like you say - what are we supposed to do? Never express ourselves? It goes around in circles. Of course in these situations I'd always retreat and cut myself from the world and in my head I'd be thinking 'okay so I need to vanish and never be seen in case someone thinks I'm attention-seeking' and then I wondered where it's ethical to apply for jobs, to show up to parties lol.
So yeah it's ridiculous and I guess now maybe I'd be able to argue back a bit better, but I guess the big irony is that the people accusing are also attention-seeking, and in a toxic way.

@@vondelpete aw no I'm sorry that happened to you too 😔 I'm thinking if we go further with self expression being attention seeking, like in that case all art is bad lol 😂 but yes it can lead to a lot of guilt and shame, especially when we're young infps 😔

Please stop thinking it's your fault. Others will have their opinion, and treat it as. "that's nice". You have a life. Your decisions are yours. Don't let society put demands on you. Don't compare yourself or circumstances to others. Impress yourself. Perhaps you give good advice. Maybe one day you can look at these beautiful videos you made and solve this puzzle that is happening to you. Wish you well..

Well, you ARE on TH-cam, with a channel of your own. That's NOT hiding in your room, and IS inviting and seeking a response from others in the world. So to a certain extent , yes. You are seeking (very specific) attention. And we are giving it. Now, are you out there deliberately, maliciously, doing manipulation of others - pretending to have incidents, while you flail about like a wounded animal, begging for money or worse? No. You went into several of those negative TH-camr descriptions yourself. Those ARE "attention seeking". You kind of use us to hash out things, a collective group of odd fellows to use as a sounding board. Beats shouting into the darkness alone. I've done that. It's not fun and very lonely. What you do is probably closest to a non-Catholic version of a confessional, or therapy without a therapist. Maybe a weird therapy session group you run with yourself as moderator. Putting yourself out there. Why not? Who is to say what's right? Solving yourself is the biggest and hardest mystery you will ever undertake. We're listening, so as the great sage Bugs Bunny has said, "What's up Doc?"
