  • In this INFP video episode I talk about my alcohol problem, which for me is a way to not feel anything. I really believe that INFP are prone to addiction and have an self destructive personality.

I heard this thing the other day that INFPs are the one type that really cannot live in and be a part of the sensory world - although a drunk infp CAN! >_< Made perfect sense to me and why we are prone to go bananas when we go down that lane as it wakes some hidden sensory craving in us that we didn’t know we had and makes it super easy to be natural and normal around other people and we just keep wanting more of it and not wanting it to end. At the same time I think we’re using a massive portion of our Fi in this sensory experience which makes it even deeper and stronger and more volatile.
Once it ends and we wake up the next day there is so much shit going on - the chemical imbalance, the emotional imbalance, the worries, anxiety and embarrassment, just being completely drained end empty...
It’s hard. It’s hard when you feel you don’t belong and then you find a door that leads you to a sense of belonging. I’m not sure if moderation is possible, as we get so lost in our drunken Fi it feels like nothing else matters than just following this amazing in-the-moment-experience that is usually very hard for us to get to.
    How has it been going?

wow this is extremely accurate! that's why I socialize and talk to strangers, want to experience the sensory world to an absurd extent, cannot stay quiet for a single second, easily become intimate with people I find attractive and so on... I can't relate to the hangover part though since I occasionally drink and I'm not addicted, but I send my deepest support to everyone going through this.

That you for commenting! This sounds so true for me. It sometimes feel like I want to me too real and just go to hard into some things, and when drinking then comes in the picture - it’s like it never stops. Not the physical aspect of “needing a fix”, but the fact of drifting off and “shutting off the sensory”. I appreciate you and if you are interested, I made a update about this topic last night in my live stream.
      Keep real and stay positive!

Thats exactly 💯 🤣. Live live alcohol but I've had enough for the rest of my lifetime. My recovery time was like if I started drinking on Friday night and stop Sunday midday and I would be so in confusion for the next three days and only really sober Thursday and the cycle started over. Went like this from 11 yrs until 35 yrs. Finally started to accept and forgive myself just for myself. Guess I was procrastinating all this time 🙃 😕. Keep feeling feelers

INFP drunk and understand - to block out the anxiety and it helps numb it, but i start with too many emotions. I hate to say but the ENTJs help us. I need someone to help me feel i belong. I hate that - relying on someone or something.

For some years I have been reframing my life. Serious changes had to happen in my consideration of how valuable I was made to be. I talk to God every day and open up a Bible to hear back from Him. This has made the difference.

I Feel you man. I also loved Being drunk, and thought I was so smooth with everything and lost all responsibility when drunk like all my filters in my brain disappeared, so I was more social but in the end It doesn’t matter, it’s fun, you can drink sometimes but also not crave the feeling to much and just use it sometimes if you have enough discipline. I will pray for you to become better in any way you want to!

I started drinking in my early 20s as well as a social lubricant partying a lot embarrassing myself a a lot the. It turned a lot darker I lost my boyfriend to suicide and started drinking every day I isolated myself entered a terrible relationship it’s hell the anxiety the day after causes you to want to drink again and it drive me completely mad. I became narcissistic depressed mean more isolated and suicidal. I’m 2 weeks sober and I just started researching my Type INFP I am Learning so much about myself and it gives me hope I can figure out to navigate the world again without alcohol. You have to make a decision. Do you want to continue live in this hell you out yourself in, it’s not too late. Get sober and see what changes for you, you will never want to go back. Alcohol is a demon it pretends be your friends and hind your hand and it drags you down the pits. Take care everyone

Drunk infp here as well, I still drink but I really don’t like to as much any more . I used to be drunk in jail all the time. But now I’m tryna figure this out I recently learned about the mbti from TH-cam. Just by watching recommended videos about empaths which later led to personality types. I’m really interested in this so i will progress farther . I’ll be around in the infp zone for awhile now. Thank you.

Please know that drinking depletes vitamin B from your body. Your not just having anxiety from alcohol but are becoming chemically imbalanced from it stealing the vitamin b from your body. My uncle was an alcoholic and just committed suicide due to his chemical imbalance. Please take vitamin b and stay healthy! Thanks being open about your addiction I hope you get all the support and help you need to overcome it.

Yep I quit too for thr same reasons. I'm infp. Didn't know when to stop. Sometimes I would keep drinking for days til my body and mind was so tired I would blackout anywhere.
