    Non stop this B mode.. Again B mode is for breaking with engine when battery is already full on long descent and to prevent overheating breaks.. Car recuperate energy regardless of B mode.

    Best honest reviews and POV test drives from our Croatian pal. Bought my Yaris solely off this video and could not be happier. It helped me compare my buying interests (e.g. the new i20 with the Yaris) Everything said and showed was completely accurate and precise, loved the video and loving the car, thank you so much!

    Take care with the B Mode. It is in fact only in case you are driving in mountains a lot of downhill. In D Mode the car would always speed up and your brakes could maybe overheat. So the B Mode is only for people actually living in a mountain area or for somebody just driving there like in holidays. Using B Mode on flat ground is not good for the engine seen over a longer time!!

      B mode uses the engine to slow down the car. When the accelerator is released the engine is spun up so its compression force slows down the car, but it makes the fuel efficiency a bit worse, since it relies less on regenerative braking

    This was an interesting video. When you used the power mode for the first time I had to laugh (inwardly) as the little white car on your left was still stationary at the lights whilst the Toyota rocketed away! Looking at the footage on the highway this car is smooth and must have been a joy to trial run🚫🏁

    You misunderstood the drive modes! D recuperates, if you hit the brake not hard. B is of course also recuperating but mainly meant as a motor brake for steeper "downhill".

    Dont you get energy back when u press the breaks? Instead of using the B paddle.

    • @crospotter13
      @crospotter13  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you do, B mode is when you just want small amount of braking, and in front of the traffic lights was the easiest way to demonstrate how it works 😀🔋

    • @joachimbos4027
      @joachimbos4027 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@crospotter13 B mode also brakes using the gasoline engine so should not be used if you want optimal fuel efficiency. This is mentioned in the manual of the car. (It's also the same with all the Toyota Hybrids). It's mainly used for long descents down mountains where your battery is full and you want to save your disk brakes from overheating. So in B-mode it'll brake on both the electric motor as well as the gasoline engine. You're wasting a bit of energy using it. If you want to optimally regenerate it's better to lightly use the brake pedal as this will only use regenerative braking. Of course pushing the brake pedal harder will engage the disk brakes.

    • @tonikallinn
      @tonikallinn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you take good care of it, checking and changing the filters on the battery intake, which should be under the back seat, and drive the car regularly, so the battery doesn't train too much, as draining the battery to very low continuously is bad for the battery, it's said it can last 200-300 thousand km

    • @tonikallinn

      @@piee683 If it's the hybrid, the engine is off for 40-50% of your journey, so basically 40-50% less wear on the 1.5l engine. I wouldn't buy a non hybrid car with 1l-1.5l engine, but in hybrids, it should be more than okay for city driving to around 100km/h. As i've seen, when the car is going 130km+, the engine is revving very high and goes rarely in EV mode. Better to buy a diesel for those faster speeds for good fuel consumption, or even a 6-8 cylinder petrols. They may use loads of gas, but they also stay low revs at higher speeds
