We,ve got the V500 driver and 3 wood in the shed, I bought them for my son who at the time was studying so not playing so often they workedOK to be honest. I think they are out there for people starting out on their golfing journey and don't want to get seduce or put off by bigger priced items.
What a great video!!!! Most of your fellow YTuber club tests don’t even discuss shafts on high dollar clubs their reviewing. You did a good job on driver us seasoned golfers could recommend to folks who want to get into the game. You do a great job on your channel. Hope it continues to grow!
The Slazenger V300 set were my first clubs and added a few extras to it. Not bad starter set. Putter is too light but now my eldest uses them. Around £190 for the package set when first bought so not bad for the price and you can add/ replace with more of the same series. The balls aren't great though.
Seems like a decent option for someone like myself who's not really into playing golf, lives in a city with no courses nearby, but has driving range a couple minutes away. For the sake of some exercise and competing against myself it doesn't look that bad.
Ping / Titleist / Callaway / TaylorMade calling in the lawyers to get this video removed. They've convinced the world that, not only do you need a 700-dollar driver you need to preferably have it fitted and replace it every season.
Should do a slazenger Vs Fazer play off round of golf to see which budget golf clubs are better for people wanting to dip their toes into golf rather than committing £100s before hand.
When I was a teen in the 90's, I loved Slazenger balls. Would always be excited to find one on the course. Good to see the brand is still around, at least.
My hat is off to Slazenger for offering a decent entry level driver that's easy on the budget. Since COVID. which apparently chased everyone out onto the golf courses, prices have shot upwards. I'm hoping for rational pricing thoughts to once again return to the manufacturers. I'm old now, but my first car cost less than some of these new drivers.
How much do you think top brand driver's actually cost to manufacture? Ex R&D costs, Ex Marketing, just cost per unit direct labour, materials only. £75?
When I was starting golf I could not get out of bunkers so brought a slazenger 64 degree wedge for £4.99 still have to this day best value club I have ever brought
Surely titanium is only present as an alloy except maybe when used for added weight . Seems a fair driver and does sound ok. It would be good to see in the comments if anyone has experience of one.
I can't speak to golf products, but high percentage titanium alloys have been getting cheaper over the years and are showing up in a lot more less expensive products such as ultralight camping and hiking gear.
I’m actually shocked that you got the driver to go more than 250 yards in total! An excellent starter driver for someone just wanting to put out their feelers for the game. I’m surprised that the head didn’t fly off or that the face didn’t crack hitting it that hard. But anyway for the price it certainly exceeds expectations and would only be a very early beginner that would want it. Other than that the secondhand market is definitely best choice even going 10 years older
even if it breaks once a year and you buy another one thats £50 a year for a driver you can't fault against a £500 one. golf really is getting out of hand on price.
🚨Terrible Joke from the US Alert Wow, who knew a 25 pound driver would be so easy to swing. Fryer must be putting that extra work in at the gym. Fun video Matt!
I wonder how it would compare to say a Ping G2 driver, which is a driver I recommend to beginners. Over here in the US can usually find a G2 for $40 and under.
I bought a 3wood Slazenger for £15 about 10 years ago, just for a laugh as I never used a 3w usually. You do get what you pay for, also came in regular shaft and was incredibly whippy. It sort vibrated up your arms when it made contact with the ball😂
@@bensolo2000 you just need to do your homework. I picked up a secondhand bargain recently for the same price as this and it’s in excellent condition. Golf does not need to be expensive
I wouldn’t even mention the grip chances are most people are gonna change the grip even on a expensive club. I use jumbo grips so I end up changing the grips on all of my clubs..
So if you don't have alot of money you'll be shit....Great advertisement to not play golf. I'd love to play golf but don't have a grand a week to do it. 500 quid for a driver....bought cars for less
@nicholasingle6845 just a exaggerated fact on how much it cost's. 500 hundred for a half decent set of sticks then 25 a day to play 18 holes, 1🤢🤢🤢 rather play darts
Sorry Matt I really used to enjoy your videos more than this, I was really hoping for the best here. Actually it was how many times you said Actually in which I actually turned this video off. actually.
I love this type of video. Great way to show good technique will always trump equipment.

Pretty sure the model number has nothing to do with yardage…otherwise the guy who bought a V500 would be winning long drive contest all the time…🤪🤪🤪
Growing up slazenger was always my balls of choice.

Loving the comments from the "all the gear,no idea" golf snobs.

Exactly
£12.87
Good video with surprisingly good results
Incredible effort to flesh out this 3 minute short to a 13 minute video 😂
Why you got to be a hater, mate? This is in-depth
2lb shaft. 2lb50 head. 25P grip. 25P glue. 5lb club for 25lb.
When I was starting golf I could not get out of bunkers so brought a slazenger 64 degree wedge for £4.99 still have to this day best value club I have ever brought
Slazenger were a premium brand when I was a kid. Seve was a staff player. This driver is fine for beginners! It’s a start for people.
Love the v300 balls
You should cut it in half to see if there’s actually weighting done or if it’s completely hallow
Great swing
Nice will buy one to practice with

Didn't sound bad at all. Good for a beginner. Cheers
Law of Diminishing Returns applies here. Is the $500 driver ten or fifteen times better than the $25 or $50 better?

You should start cutting the face of the clubs off so we can see what’s inside
Its not actually cheap. The popular brands are just too expensive.
Was waiting for it to break with your driving ability 😂
I love that the driver didn't come with a cover. would have cost another 25! lol
The V 300/and driver is 40 years old.❤
That's why it costs 25 pounds.
I don’t think Slazenger would have a puma on their gear. It’s a black panther

Thanks for the “like” Fryer!

its about £45 second hand if "ok" condition here (there are a couple of websites that stock second hand)

the best ive seen you play is with a 25 pound driver and 45-year old dunlop golf balls.
I think you need to add it to your bag and play it to destruction...then we'll see what the value for money really is..😁👌
Why the censored sticker...? Gob open, big surprise thumbnails dont do it for me ..
But they do for folk who just stumble across it
Interesting vlog but not sure we'd see the finish on the Slazenger last very long. From what I've seen of the brand the looks don't last
Cheers Matt
Who's bothered what it looks like. I'd it works use it 😂
You can also pick up some amazing secondhand bargains for about the same money 👍
@ £25 youre in the bargain bin for second hand with no idea what has happened to the driver before you get it!
Even buying last years latest driver you can buy it for a third of the price of this years.

Why are the thumbnail photos so immature
Because people will click on them.
Seems like you need to pull a daft face in your thumbprint the algorithm these days….. painful isn’t it !
@@BUMHEAD1100 it is so pathetic. PGA teaching pros acting sophomoric.
The plural of 'pound' is 'pounds'!
How far could you hit it if the driver weighed 25 pounds?
Peter would blitz 300 yards with this one handed…

Grand a week? Drama much?
@seanpeacock5595 add it up...clubs..balls...equipment...club fee's...green fee's....its not a accessible sport.
I don't know any regular golfer spending £1000 a month on golf, let alone a week.

Just No No No No No. Maybe try out their new 64 degree wedge.
🥱😴

This guy is comparing a basic car to a ferrari. Whats the point
Because people learning to drive do so in basic cars!
