    Thank you so much for this great video, now I can try to replicate that beautiful box you made. Take care, all the best from Melbourne Australia.

    Great video. I am going to have a go at this when I get a cnc. Still saving so just learning all I can before it gets here.

    Thank You Mandell!!!! I was finally able to figure out how you did the dado cuts by watching the video. I struggled a little bit on lining up the boxes until I created the two separate boxes and then centered them, then moved them out and they lined up perfectly. I only have a 24 inch cutting surface so I have to replicate this cut twice unless I make smaller boxes. Great video, and thank you again for posting this.

      Jeff Ruffing I glad I was able to help you. I hope it didn’t frustrate you much. I’ve made plenty of firewood in my time. lol thank you very much!

    I know I’m late to the party but this is kind of what I was looking for but not quite! Excellent information though. I had seen a video a fellow did similar but was able to cut the 45’s in multiple passes using a smaller bit. He created the model using Carveico and I use Vectric same as you. So far I haven’t been able to accomplish this task. I know it can be done just haven’t figured it out.

    Hello, I just discovered your Channel and find your content very helpful. I'm about to make some boxes as Christmas gifts for my family and need all the help/advice I can get. I do have a few years of CNC and Vectric Desktop experience but have not as yet made any boxes that are worthy enough for gift giving.
    I need to get some simple box design concepts before I start making what I would call "fancy family/gift boxes"...
    Again thank you for making these videos..
    Peter

    Another great video. Excellent point made about lining up the boxes so two sides are one line. When working in 1000's of an inch, it makes a difference. Have you considered providing or selling your files?Keep 'em coming.

    Instead of creating boxes for the V corner cuts it would have been faster to just draw a straight vector where you want the cut. This way you wouldn't have to cut over an area already cut and air wouldn't have to be sacrificed. 😀 Thanks for the ideas and video!

    Mann this box is outstanding ....I was just wondering about the 90 degree but you were using I'm from South Africa and it's difficult to get those bits ...I attempted it but my 90 angle bit way to small to cut such thick wood...keep Up the good work

    Hello Mandell: Thanks for this video and the CNC box video. You should be able to replace those rectangles for the mitres with 5 vertical lines instead (perhaps you alluded to the that with your “I learned things while doing this video” coment?)
    Next up I’ll be watching the “Apple Pencil Box” video.

    why did you leave 0.01'', why not go all the way through? i saw other people doing this too, then they would cut it off with a knife, if cut all the way through, dont u save the step to cut it off?

  • @birdog9999
    @birdog9999 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I watched your video 5 times and followed step by step only my wood is .802 thick using the same tools you used my 3D doesn't give me a 40 degree cut it's 45 at the bottom with a straight edge above the 45. Don't know what I am doing wrong.

    • @WoodDoormann
      @WoodDoormann  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      joseph Lordi u have to make sure your v carve bit is the proper size for your board thickness. Why are you trying to get a 40 degree cut?

    • @jonathanmcmillen3093
      @jonathanmcmillen3093 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be 45 degrees if your using a 45 degree bit?
