I've noticed you guys seem to love the 'making a beat from scratch' videos, they are some of my most watched and one of them is my most popular video of all time!
In this one I dig into the vinyl collection and pull a sample from a jazz record. I then use my SP404SX to create some chops and lay down a drum beat underneath. I hope you enjoy the lofi beat I end up creating!

i am thinking about buying a sp 404 and a turntable for digging, what cables/equipment do I need to set everything up?

a phono cable to run from the turntable to the SP, some headphones, batteries for the SP (or power if you can use a socket is fine) and a 32gb SD Card 👍

My sp is coming up and I am really hyped to start making beats on it. But I am kinda confused on one aspect of it. Idk if this is a stupid question but is it possible to get full beats from the SP404 to the PC without having anything more than the SP and SD Card? Or do I need to buy a recording device or get RCA cables and an adapter?
If you use the resampling method to make beats and everything ends up on one pad, yes you can put the SD card in your computer and take that one file off and your full beat will be there. Other than that you will probably have to take each individual sound/sample off the SD card and then arrange them in a DAW

@@spvidz yo what's up! My sp404 has come today and I am just having a litte trouble in resampling everything to one pad. Because when I do so usually the resample recording just stops immediatly out of nowhere after ~4 bars. Is it possible to fix this issue?
weebo car it’s not an issue, it’s what the sp does unfortunately. You can only resample a certain amount of pads at one time. A good start is making your drums mono which will help but that’s the battle with resampling!
Yo men, how i can reselect a pad for play effects, because i have the beat in one pad, and play vox in other pad, and them i cant play with effects in my beat pad performance? thanks bro, dope videos always!
Yo man you’ll either need to resample a pad with the mfx on or if you want to use the same mfx on both pads hold ‘remain’ and hit them both

Yeah, or take all the bits of the SD card and arrange them again in a DAW

Its pretty decent for the price yeah. I've not tried scratching on it but just as a player its perfect along side the SP

Yup exactly that. Just one phono cable from the record player to the sp

@@danny5699 only thing I would say is that my turntable has a built in amp. If you have one without the signal will be too weak to sample from - you will need a DJ mixer or amp to boost the signal
@@spvidz ahhh I see what turntable do you have cuz I have a Sony it only has a usb output
No phono output? That’s odd. I’ve got a numark PT-01 which doesn’t need an amp and has phono out, I’ve also got a technics deck as well but I have to use an amp with that one. Could you run your signal into your laptop and then use a connection from your laptop to your SP maybe?
