- Went through my process of making a lofi beat with the SP 404 og.
Love this tool and all it's quirks. Saved some deep diving into the sequencing capabilities, and all of its effects for a couple of other videos.

og 404 was my first sampler. just copped the mk2 and I'm loving it. coming up with that og404 makes you so grateful for like every little detail on the mk2.
some might not love the simplicity or being able to love the wave forms, but I think you can still use it for simplicity / that classic 404 feel (resampling oc is still there). i'm honestly loving it, and I don't mind a little bit of menu diving for the love of the game.
peeped your earlier comment about tone / running samples through a 202... dont tempt me lmao. They sound soooo smooth.
Yeah it’s all for that love of the game 👏🏻 and the 202 tone is a fun one to get tangled in 😂 it’s really hard to justify the money unless you find a good deal though since it does have quite a few things holding it back

What is “summing”?
summing is mostly talked of in a more like old analog studio console type of context, but it’s like referring to the process of running all of your channels into a single master output 👍🏻

Is it still worth it to purchase OG SP404 in 2023?
This is my very humble opinion that should be taken with a LARGE grain of salt lol…
If you want something for the analog tone I would go for a 202 or 303 to run samples through.
If you want flexibility as a sampler and a bunch of effects get a mk2
If you don’t have $500< get a sx or og,
they still hold it down decent enough and people will be running them with their mk2’s for live sets for awhile👍🏻

lol so that I can sequence it all, I don’t have the new new so it doesn’t do different sequencing or bussing well. Putting it in the computer lines everything up and make the mix cleaner
