    Just a purely random thought, but imagine if the pillars throughout Hyrule are actually drawing constellations at big scales... Would that hint to anything, knowing that the "Creating a champion" book gave them the name of "Zonai Pillars" and stated they may have been used for magical purposes ? _It was just a random thought, I have no idea if the pillars draw constellations or not, but that would be cool actually_

    The way the shrines are on the map seem to be all connected like constellations. I wonder if the theory is right that the hyrule castle underground is the source of the sheika shrine power. This was used to seal ganon but not temporary since his malice broke free for a length of Time. I think once again Zelda has to regain the power of the goddess and the triforce to defeat ganon and demise’s curse once and for all.

    I have a quick question: what is up with the tingle islands? They're named after an iconic group of characters, and they're surrounded by sky stalkers, extremely late-game enemies, but why are they so heavily guarded? There's barely anything there, besides one shrine, so why does Ganon hate the islands so much that he sends an army of sky stalkers to guard
    Also, unrelated thought, Do you think that the temple we see in the BOTW2 trailer could be what's hidden behind the 8th heroine? Think about, an ancient pilgrim place of reflection watched over by a reflected heroine, but when something awful happens, the 8th heroine is dragged from her place to cover it up so quickly that her sword is left behind, and erased from history to keep what is behind her sealed
    but hey, that's just a theory, A Nintendo Theory!

    Gate of time in the astral observatory makes me think of the legend of the divine beasts.
    They were made by an ancient civilisation, and hidden away in the depths of Hyrule, as were numerous guardians.
    What if the gate of time WAS used, but in the way to connect the current time, with the time of the original calamity? They say that the demon king was defeated, but no mention of his remains. In twilight princess, Ganon remains standing atop the hell he was slain. In Ocarina, he is imprisoned in the sacred realm, later to be executed in the Arbiters grounds, in twilight princess.
    What if the gate of time did exist in the distant past, and the calamity was pushed through it, to the future, in an attempt to try and rally against it when it came up in the future?
    But they miscalculated, and the time in which they expected the beast to return, never came. So centuries passed and the royal family and most races of Hyrule grew complacent, eventually forgetting the existence of the time gate, perhaps even breaking it, as a means to prevent the doorway from existing in the future, thus sealing Ganon in a set time stream.
    Which is why the appearance of the beast in the prologue of the events of Breath of the wild sound so frantic: "The beast came from underneath Hyrule castle, seemingly from nowhere."

    What if the Shiekah used the constellations to learn how to harness spirit energy and convert it into Ancient energy? In a collab video with Zeltik, you guys came to the conclusion that Ganondorf's seal drains him of his spirit energy and it converts it into Ancient energy which is distributed to all the Shiekah tech on the surface. What if this was how? They used the constellations to design a seal for Ganondorf that would not only keep him at bay, but to harness the power of his soul to create a powerful army to defend Hyrule.
    Also Alchemy could work here to. Alchemy and Astrology share a lot of symbols but use them in different ways. For example, the alchemical symbol for iron is the astrological symbol for Mars. One of the goals of Alchemy was the preservation of life and that seems to fit the Shiekah monks.

    I did some research about the divine beasts and it turns out every single one represents each season, but since the game was obviously made in Japan we would have to look at the constellations that would be seen from Japan’s point of view. Vah Naboris which is the resemblance of a giant Camel can be the representation of the constellation Camelopardilas which is most visible in February, Feburary in Japan is Winter. Vah Medoh, the resemblance of a giant Eagle is the representation of the constellation Aquila which is visible at Summertime in Japan. Vah Ruta, The resemblance of a giant Elephant is the representation of the constellation Cepheus, Cephues is visible in Autumn in Japan. Finally Vah Rudania takes the form of a giant lizard, the problem here is that the lizard constellation is most visible in November. I got stuck her since we can not have two Autumn constellation, so instead I chose not to think of Vah Rudania as a lizard but a Chameleon, this would still have some sort of sense since chameleon’s change there appearance due to there habitat they are living in or there temperature. When I tried to see what Season the Chameleon constellation is in it turned out to be in April, this would make it visible at Spring in Japan. Now we have all four seasons that each divine beast represents.

    Maybe in a box in Zelda's Study. Terrako does play a tune and open a Gate of his own.

    I’m an astrologer and the circular pattern on the gate of time and the tri force symbol both actually look a lot like something we call the ecliptic, which is the way we actually map the location of the planets and stars in order to read them. Astrology as far as divination actually goes, is never done through a telescope, the location and trajectory of the planets are mapped by astronomers and then drawn into the ecliptic by astrologers using a representative chart, which is just a circle divided into 12 sections or “houses” with 12 glyphs on the outside section representing the constellations and then (usually) 7 glyphs in the centre mapping the planets and their location through the constellations. In astrology we also use the 4 elements to divide up the constellations into groups of 3, my opinion is the gate of time is an astrological chart and the observatories are used to log the degrees of the planets, using mathematical formulas you can gauge where they will all be on certain dates and this is how the divination is done, locations of certain planets represent good or bad mundane events. In ancient times on earth this is how people would attempt to predict political assassinations, natural disasters, etc. it definitely feels like a reference to astrology to me!

    It may be worth noting that the placement of stars in the sky changes over time. This could explain what Shekah recorded constellations that we can't see 10,000 years later. They could have just shifted until they were gone.

  • @chrisredline1697
    @chrisredline1697 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well done, you guys obviously know your material/did your homework, so thanks.
    I think what really got my brain gears turning three years ago with the constellations was when I first did the Keo Ruug shrine puzzle. There appear to be three distinct constellations (four if you count the one that's just three stars, but there's another constellation that appears to be two separate constellations, a four-star and a three-star, which makes me wonder if that's another sub-theory to explore). I started researching constellations in other Zelda titles, recalling they appeared clearly in Wind Waker, and (corroborated by the Zelda Wikis) there's Cassiopeia, Orion (or especially the "Three Stars," more on that later) and Big Dipper (these are already pointed out in your video, thanks). Note that none of these constellations seem to match these three/four unidentified constellations in BotW. And the sky in BotW doesn't seem to have any discernible or noteworthy constellations or stars (again, pointed out in video). Makes me wonder if any of this is intentional - the night sky in BotW being indiscernible, and the constellations in BotW seemingly not matching any "known" constellations in other Zelda games, let alone real life. Could the mismatch be because the "merged timeline" caused the stars to shift? Or, perhaps, the patterns we recognize as Orion, Cassiopeia and Big Dipper are still present (the stars haven't shifted), but the new patters overlaying the stars obfuscate the old patterns?
    I partially hypothesized to myself that the three constellations recurring in previous Zelda games (Orion/Cassiopeia/Big Dipper) could represent Din, Farore and Nayru, but I could be off. If you dig a little bit into Chinese astrology, you will immediately notice the four symbols (which the divine beasts in Zelda lore were inspired from) are heavily prominent (again, corroborated/discussed in this video). The "three stars" (Orion's Belt, or Shen Xiu) are part of Byakko (White Tiger); Cassiopeia is part of both Byakko and Gen-Bu (Black Tortoise), and the Big Dipper is... part of the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, which is one of the three Enclosures and encompasses all the stars around the north pole. The Big Dipper doesn't appear to be part of any of the four symbols/divine beasts, but here's something interesting. In Shinto, the seven stars that make up the big dipper are called the "Amenominakanushi", where in most interpretations the seven stars represent the spirit of a kami (other interpretations say each star is a separate kami), but more often than not Amenominakanushi (whether one kami or seven combined), along with Takamimusubi and Kamimusubi, are genderless deities known as the Zoka sanshin, or the three creator gods.
    Anyway, I haven't even begun with Yin/Yang, I Ching etc. (which are critical components of Chinese astrology) but perhaps that's less to do with the stars and thus appropriate for another discussion.

  • @suyci
    @suyci 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, that was all quite a stretch, but at least it was fun to see that Nintendo has so much consistency throughout the games. Considering the developers are trying to tie everything together with BOTW I'd sooner say that each constellation in tied to one of the gods or another realm and each is needed for circuitry since not all patterns are in a constellation shapes, or they are just parts of seals. I really don't hope we get Link in space.
    If you are interested: I have two things I thought you would have figured by now but there are still no videos about it so I'll bring it up:
    1. Have you ever noticed the blue lines/patterns that show up if you open a Sheikah tower before the map gets filled in? I am too lazy to put all the different pieces together but it almost seems like it shows the ''power lines'' that would run below Hyrule if Ganon is actually used as an energy source. There are swirls are holes around points of interest, might be worth looking into.
    2. I can't be sure if no one has noticed or if it's old news by now, but I've never heard anyone talk about the fact that the Twilight Realm in Twilight Princess is basically covered in Sheikah marks. As well that Midna and most of the Twili have the exact same colors on them as the green seal that is attached to Ganon in the BOTW2 trailer. Meaning the timeline is set in the TP timeline maybe? I wouldn't be surprised if they end up putting BOTW before ocarina of time in the timeline.

      Ganon is Ganondorf, a Gerudo man that achieved great powers throught his knowledge of evil magic and the Triforce of Power, his hatred and greed turned into Grudge/malice which gave birth to the Demon we know as the Great Demon King Ganon.
      It accumulated more and more hatred and grudge after being defeated time and time again until it became what we know as Calamity Ganon.
      The Guardians and Divine Beasts were constructed by the Sheikah of old to assist the Hero and the maiden in their fight against the Calamity.
      10 000 years later, Calamity Ganon will take over the guardians and Divine Beasts and merge with the Sheikah Tech.

    Just an idea - the blue color is time itself, when you remove a block in OOT with the song of time, the blue energy takes it away, I think through time. The sheikah are looking through time directly, and blue stuff is a fun way for Nintendo to show us their creative changes using time as a direct visual tool to engage us. Maybe invisible blocks aren't even in our time, but when you see them through the lens of truth, they are partly in our dimension. It becomes a headache when 3D is our world, and 4D is time. Keep it up

    At one point you mention that the night sky in BotW doesn't seem to have anything of note in terms of constellations, but it might be worth considering that constellations aren't static arrangements - they too change over time as stars and galaxies move through space at different rates relative to each other, at least in the real world (which, considering the presence of Orion and the Big Dipper in other games, should be a good assumption for Hyrule). Since all of this Sheikah tech comes from 10,000 years ago or more, it's probably fair to think that the Hyrule night sky at construction of the shrines is quite different than the night sky as currently seen in BotW
