As a Celtics fan my knock on Tatum's game is that he plays down to the level of competition or he used to. He doesn't do that as much now. When it counts he comes up with clutch performances. 46 points in Milwaukee in a do or die game 6 which broke Milwaukee who had nothing in game 7. 51 points against Philadelphia in a game 7. If not for a shoulder issue in the finals against GSW I think Boston wins that series. If not for an ankle sprain in the first minute against Miami in a game 7 they probably come back from 3 to 0 and get another finals appearance. Tatum averaged 28.5 on 50% shooting 10 rebounds and 7.5 assists in games 4, 5, and 6 to get to game 7. Then he gets criticized for his shooting percentage last year in the playoffs. He was the conductor of the Celtics offence last postseason. He did everything and had to go against double teams every time he got the ball and the Celtics breezed through the playoffs without their second best player Porzingis in the lineup most of the time. He should have gotten the ECF and definitely the Finals MVP but didn't sulk when Brown won. This is Tatum against three superstars in the playoffs series. Two to one against Giannis, three to zero against Embiid, one to zero against Luka. That's 6 to 1 for those who are bad at math. If you add Jimmy Butler to the equation he's still at 8 to 3 in playoff series against superstars. The Celtics are at the beginning of a run right now that should be similar to the 80's Lakers or the Duncan Spurs when it is over. Pooh to anybody stupid enough to put Anthony Edwards above Tatum as a player or a competitor or a man. The statistical gap is wide. Edwards is an exciting player, but in the end Tatum has a son and Edwards has text messages from a ho asking her to abort his kid.
To be all honest. All the stars underperformed in the finals. Kyrie, Brown, Tatum and Luka didn’t look dominant or played that good during their matchups which led to a boring and disappointing final series. Celtics fan from Boston here. I have been wondering why Tatum often gets disrespected. That clutch versus double clutch helped some. I cringe when they give the ball to him with a tie score and ten seconds left. Yet he is great when down by one and a minute left. I give him credit for constantly improving. He has a great chance to win the MVP in the Finals this year!
I've been a Celtic fan since the 1969 snd seen great clutch players like Sam Jones, John Havlicek, and, of course Larry Bird. Tatum is not as good in the clutch as these 3 Celtic greats. He goes too much 1:1 in the last 2 minutes and the other team mates are often watching him. Although he sometimes hit the clutch shot, he also fails with turnover or misses the game wining shot a bit too often for my taste. I too cringe when he gets the ball with atied score or 10 seconds left. The great ones I mention made the clutch shot when the Celts WERE TRAILING at the end. Other than that, he is an excellent player and among the best 5-6 players in teh NBA.
Honestly, talk of Tatum's greatness is disrespectful to Jaylen Brown at this point. The Celtics have to support Tatum and put him in position to succeed, whereas Brown lives and dies by how well he plays and has to put up with coaches, fans and media that insisst Tatum's better because his jumper is "pretty" That's the biggest difference between the Celtics stars.
Talk of Tatum’s greatness is not disrespectful to Jaylen Brown. The way the media consistently frames the team as “Jaylen vs Jayson” is what’s disrespectful. They are both great players, good men, and as a Celtics fan I’m blessed to cheer for two high character, hall of fame wings at the same time!
JAYSON IS THE KINDEST,NICEST PERSON EVER,HES HUMBLE AND LOOKS SO GOOD. THE REASON WHY PEOPLE HATE HIM IS BECAUSE THEY ARE MEAN ,JELOUSE ,ENVYOUS PEOPLE.THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN HATE THAT MEN.HE IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECTION AS IT POSIBLE GETS IN EVERY SENSE.THE FACT THAT PEOPLE HATE SOMEBODY AS KIND AND GOOD AS HE IS TELLS YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE WORLD AND HOW MANY EVIL,MEAN PEOPLE ARE THERE, BUT KARMA WILL GET THEM HOPEFULLY.
Reasons I see. 1. He plays for the Celtics. Celtics have a huge fanbase, but if you're not a part of the fanbase, you probably hate the team. 2. Early successes gave him some unrealistic standards. 3. Despite having way more success than failure, selective memory goes for failures normally. 4. His personality. He strikes people as dull, but he just balls out and hangs with his family. He doesn't give big quoteables.
Very few people hate Jason Tatum. Very likable guy. Some people don't believe he is truly an elite player because he has lacked an ability to deliver in clutch situations and makes a lot of poor decisions in clutch situations. He's getting better though and his potential is sky high.
Tatum has been more clutch than anyone anywhere near his age in the NBA and has several post season records including most points ever in a game 7 lol It's funny that you actually thought you had a point though lol
Here is my take on it. Celtics was the team to beat for the past 3 years. Tatum was the ace on that team so the spot light was really on him and the inability to delivery a championship despite being the best team will always fuel critics to say "Told you so, they ain't special". I believe the last 3 years have really matured the team and winning the championship will "Hopefully" give them the character and mindset to tackle these kind of scrutiny.
There is a difference between hate and thinking he should not be the MVP of the NBA. It’s pretty lame hating on someone because you think he’s overrated. If he wins the MVP this year, which he has a decent shot at doing, the hate will only increase. If you think proving his skeptics wrong will get him less hate, then you’re delusional.
its crazy that you have to discuss something like this while the player is still active in the league with an age of 26 years... this dude did amazing so far and we can talk about him in 7-10 years. THEN, and only THEN, we will have a final picture of his carrer....
Why can't anyone just come out with. He's hated because he's not likable; he can't speak, he's weak, he's doesn't come off as genuine...he's basically just a loser and not in the basketball sense. The fact that people think one should be liked because they perform or hated because they don't is ridiculous. There are different levels of talent in sports and that ok. But when your personality and or character sucks, it just does. He has a weak personality and is not likable. Simple.
JT debe echarse siempre al equipo al hombro, reclamar menos, tomar liderazgo con sus compañeros, poner los pies en la duela siendo el mismo. Vamos Celtics!
How bout keeping hate out of Celtics reporting - JT and the Celtics ARE. MY SANITY- these guys are the best all around people … STOP the hate rhetoric!!!
he is great, it comes with greatness, ask all the great players they will tell you, there is a alot of hate when you are at the top, its the price of being great, you will get alot of hate @jasontatum... continue to shine bro!!!
i wouldn't say he's hated. he's just not appreciated and that's 2 different things. imo, he's under appreciated coz for a star, he doesn't have an identity. tried hard to be a Kobe. when they won, copied the celebrations and comments of other players which doesn't feel organic, doesn't feel natural. example, saying "what are they gonna say now?" to everyone when he's not even the best player of the finals? curry said that same thing when he finally won FMVP. with that accomplishment, on top of the title, Curry is making a statement. for Tatum, it looks very much like a trying hard copycat.
I thought this was going to be a video of why he doesn’t deserve the hate, instead, they specified why everyone hates him, and basically justified it 😂😂😂😂 🗑️ One of the best players in the league, and definitely one of the most accomplished
THIS IS WHY I CALL HIM AND JAYLEN.... THE GREEN HORNET AND KATO!!! THEY WILL NEVER GET THAT BATMAN AND ROBIN LOVE BECAUSE JUST LIKE THE T.V. SHOWS ONE WHERE THE HEROES AND THE OTHER WHERE THE OUTLAWS... AND GUESS WHAT??? IT'S KOOLER TO BE THE OUTLAW'S!!! SO FOR ME JAYSON JUST KEEP SITING IN THE BACK OF THE BLACK BEAUTY PUSHING ALL THE BUTTONS AND LEADING THE DEFENSE JUSTICE LEAGUE WITH JAYLEN... SHOUT OUT TO CELTIC NATION!!!😊😊😊
He’s a good player, but isn’t even the best on his team. He was overrated for a while and he doesn’t try to be himself he thinks he’s Kobe reincarnated.
Cause they picked the Mavs to win the finals and they need something to help themselves cope when they realized they were dead wrong. Not even close to being right about it. They coping.
Tatum hated because he idolize Kobe worked out with Kobe and doesn’t play anything like Kobe doesn’t have the heart of Kobe and Kobe would be discussed with the way he plays basketball..
Man relax… Kobe had Shaq , then he had 2 monster 7 footers in Gasol and Bynum. Not to mention the world class coach. Shaq gave Kobe his 1st ring with 38 ppg 16rpg Rip Kobe . Forgive me but these guys need to learn
Kobe idolized MJ. I don't think Kobe would be discussed, he's say take what the defense is giving you and how the league is a three point league because of the rule changes. It's entirely an offensive league. Kobe would adapt and JT is simply taking what is being given to him. Kobe would hate today's league to be fair, all older players and fans dislike today's league.
@ you can’t touch player as there going to the basket the league is giving you a free ride to the rim the reason people shoot 3s is because it’s the lazy thing to do…
I think for me it’s mostly because whenever I watch him he bricks everything. But I don’t watch Celtics that much so small sample size. He just always looks so mid out there. Feels like a fake superstar.
This video is so bad… people who cape for Tatum is so annoying. The whole argue for Tatum is based around his team. When you just watch him play hes vastly overrated. It’s very simple. Tatum haters - watch Tatum play Tatum fan boys - watch a stat sheet
He has a bunch of haters because 1. He is corny 2. Overrated 3. Disappears when the team needs him the most 4. Team roster is too deep to make him what he deserves 5. He gets away with off arm push off consistently 6. He brings his SON every darn home game 7. He argues with refs every time he misses the layups 8. Lack of consistency like last night's game 0-10 from 3 points. If the shot is not falling, why keep shooting it? 9. Lack of fundamentals, can't dribble. He turns over at least once or twice from dribbling off his foot. 10. He thinks he is the alpha of the team.
Between them 2, I believe Jayson is more suited for it. It's not just skill but market as well. Although I'm not taking anything out of Brown, (Leadership, IQ and how he approach everyone off an on the court) but in the end Tatum is still the Ace in the team and the Ace will always be the face of the franchise. Just my 2 cents brother.

The Celtics have to support Tatum and put him in position to succeed, whereas Brown lives and dies by how well he plays and has to put up with coaches, fans and media that insisst Tatum's better because his jumper is "pretty"
That's the biggest difference between the Celtics stars.
Are you this dumb in real life?
Talk of Tatum’s greatness is not disrespectful to Jaylen Brown. The way the media consistently frames the team as “Jaylen vs Jayson” is what’s disrespectful. They are both great players, good men, and as a Celtics fan I’m blessed to cheer for two high character, hall of fame wings at the same time!
I don’t hate him I love him. The ultimate Celtic ☘️
Holy glaze I love the Celtics and Jayson Tatum is my favorite player but dang
@@Platonoeditznaa, thats just someone’s moms take lol
Notice there’s wasn’t a single mention of anything basketball related 😂
@@dragonslayerthegod9284 Yeah but the fact that he or probably a she wrote a whole essay is wild
@@Platonoeditzyou might be retarded if thats an essay to you.
Most of the hate started when the C’s couldn’t beat the Warriors in 2022.
But still the hate don’t even make sense at all
He’s on the Celtics and people are convinced they hate the Celtics.
Very few people hate Jason Tatum. Very likable guy. Some people don't believe he is truly an elite player because he has lacked an ability to deliver in clutch situations and makes a lot of poor decisions in clutch situations. He's getting better though and his potential is sky high.
Tatum has been more clutch than anyone anywhere near his age in the NBA and has several post season records including most points ever in a game 7 lol
It's funny that you actually thought you had a point though lol
Go Boston Celtics there victory will be remembered forever 🎉💯
Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones - said by a great one
I love jayspn tatum ❤
Its cause he is a whiney pre madonna ! Doesnt have the dog in him to be a Face!
He’s hated because he texted Kobe “I got you” a couple years back..
At least that’s where it started.
Simple.
the Warriors was one of the most hated franchise too so if you are good people hate you that's just how things work
He was drafted to a good team and they stayed good.
I forgot about that poster by JT on Lebron.. Probably why he got benched in the olympics.
Awesome video!!
The answer to that hate is winning Mvp and another chip this year
I'm a fan of Tatum. He just has to be a little bit better in big games and series that's all. He is good, but he has to be great to silence the haters
It’s better to be the most hated champion than most liked ring less player. He’s just 27 and has a potential to surpass the greats.
26
This is so well done. Kudos.
I loved Tatum I do not understand the hate he is my idol he needs to average 8382.1 pt 388.8 rebounds 234 assists per game to impress haters like bro
Lol gets so much hate for being good
JT debe echarse siempre al equipo al hombro, reclamar menos, tomar liderazgo con sus compañeros, poner los pies en la duela siendo el mismo. Vamos Celtics!
How bout keeping hate out of Celtics reporting - JT and the Celtics ARE. MY SANITY- these guys are the best all around people … STOP the hate rhetoric!!!
People hate Tatum and they do not have a good reason why.
If I were re-drafted the league tomorrow, he might be my first pick.
...and I'm not even a Boston fan.
This guy is going to be famous one day!!
he is great, it comes with greatness, ask all the great players they will tell you, there is a alot of hate when you are at the top,
its the price of being great, you will get alot of hate
@jasontatum... continue to shine bro!!!
Gotta be a combination of being a champion, dunking on bron, being a celtic, or his looks Pause
i wouldn't say he's hated. he's just not appreciated and that's 2 different things. imo, he's under appreciated coz for a star, he doesn't have an identity. tried hard to be a Kobe. when they won, copied the celebrations and comments of other players which doesn't feel organic, doesn't feel natural. example, saying "what are they gonna say now?" to everyone when he's not even the best player of the finals? curry said that same thing when he finally won FMVP. with that accomplishment, on top of the title, Curry is making a statement. for Tatum, it looks very much like a trying hard copycat.
They hate and he keeps proving them wrong. It's funny to watch 😂
I thought this was going to be a video of why he doesn’t deserve the hate, instead, they specified why everyone hates him, and basically justified it 😂😂😂😂
🗑️
One of the best players in the league, and definitely one of the most accomplished
They both batman
As a celtic fan, i love the hate, it feels nice😂. Cos we are playing great basketball. Watching other ppl hate just makes me happy lmao
I think people hate him because his personality is a little odd especially all that Kobe thing.
Who hates Taytum? Who cares who hates Taytum? That's Jay Smooth!
I used to call him Jayson tradem but now I love him while y'all hate him
I feel like a pioneer in this field.
Jayson tatums defense won the championship. The problem with you analysts are you are to creamed about the offense.
Tatum was injured against the warriors
hate fuels jt, everybody was hating on the celtics in the playoffs, and they won the finals
He's hated because he looks like Drake.
Nah I'm good.!!..JT..is certified ..let's run it back.!!
0:11 pause???
Not give a shit and keep playing his game.
Shaq gave Kobe his 1st ring with 38 ppg 16rpg
Rip Kobe .
@ you can’t touch player as there going to the basket the league is giving you a free ride to the rim the reason people shoot 3s is because it’s the lazy thing to do…
is this channel shadow banned or something? 650k subs but a ton of videos with under 1k views even though the videos are entertaining?
Yea I was thinking the same. I think they may have bought subscribers, is that still a thing ?
Clutchsports is a horrible sports outlet. Like an NBA tabloid. Doesnt even bother proof reading their trash articles
I think for me it’s mostly because whenever I watch him he bricks everything. But I don’t watch Celtics that much so small sample size. He just always looks so mid out there. Feels like a fake superstar.
Tatum is not in 6 in mvp this year his 2
This video is so bad… people who cape for Tatum is so annoying. The whole argue for Tatum is based around his team.
When you just watch him play hes vastly overrated. It’s very simple.
Tatum haters - watch Tatum play
Tatum fan boys - watch a stat sheet
Who said everybody? I don’t hate him, i love tatum❤
Because he is extremely inconsistent, and tends to not show up in big games
He has a bunch of haters because
1. He is corny
2. Overrated
3. Disappears when the team needs him the most
4. Team roster is too deep to make him what he deserves
5. He gets away with off arm push off consistently
6. He brings his SON every darn home game
7. He argues with refs every time he misses the layups
8. Lack of consistency like last night's game 0-10 from 3 points. If the shot is not falling, why keep shooting it?
9. Lack of fundamentals, can't dribble. He turns over at least once or twice from dribbling off his foot.
10. He thinks he is the alpha of the team.
You are corny for hating on him. Tatum averaged almost a triple double in are road to finals wake up.
Your mad because he's a good dad. Says alot about you.
You can't accept that he is one of the top five players in the league. If he was on a different team, you most likely feel different about him.
Tell the truth. You hate because he's owned your team too many times.
But I love Jason Tatum
Success!
Well even if his team was good he was still the best player on the team LeBron recruits players and still cant win
Its basketball the biggest cry baby sport out there and baseball
Keep hating
BIG TIME
Jalen Brown is better suited to be the face of that organization
Between them 2, I believe Jayson is more suited for it. It's not just skill but market as well. Although I'm not taking anything out of Brown, (Leadership, IQ and how he approach everyone off an on the court) but in the end Tatum is still the Ace in the team and the Ace will always be the face of the franchise. Just my 2 cents brother.
He's hated coz envy
