Hey mate take a look at the async compute on the config files, it makes AMD and turing frametimes, under Vulkan API, much better!

Brilliant video just one thing You state to use the sharpening Nvidia or AMD overlay to counter the blurriness of TAA on high but The nvida overlay isn’t supported in RDR2 when I tried it.

@mo no lol what does a PC has to do with dlss implementation? Rdr2 is broken on PC, you HAVE to use TAA otherwise the graphics just break and you don't have right reflections and transparency. Dlss is just useless in this title, the most disappointing implementation I've seen. Even in Cyberpunk it is amazing, better than native resolution. Are you just defending your little game? I think it's important to point out shadow quality below medium disables certain assets from self shadowing or even casting shadows when near dynamic lights. This is best illustrated by holding a lantern on horseback at night in 3rd person. Low shadows will cause the lantern to illuminate the ground that should have shadows as the horse is between the lantern and ground. Bump it up to medium, and now the horse will cast a shadow with the lantern out.

I see some comments here complaining about the length of the video.. Come on people, it's a guide, you watch it to educate yourself so you learn what every setting does and how it affects performance.. Might come in handy if you play a game where you cannot find a guide for and you need to figure it out yourself to get better performance if you need it.. But some people lack the patience and/or are simply not interested in educating themselves, they can fast forward to 18:53 to find all the settings in a overview.. I really do not see the problem at all, just be very grateful sources like Hardware Unboxed that do these guides (that take a long time to make) still exist.. Thank you!

To be honest. I LOVE the crazy Graphix games. Just like back in the days with Crysis 1 and Farcry 1. having such a high quality we cant even run on top PC give users a few things they never get with
1 u can play it a few years later on modern better performance card which didnt exist before. for a 2nd run on the game with max quality (did that with many games in the past)
2 it pushes the companies like Nvidia and AMD to up there game to keep up with games instead of the attitude of "we dont need better cards our card can max everything u want to run" which have been the recent attitude in the past few years. or at least feel that way. at least from nvidia.

PC gamers: Consoles hold PC game quality back.
Also PC gamers: My vidya game wont run faster than 50 fps on crazy high graphics settings = unoptimised POS.
Whatever a developer does pc gamers are never happy. I swear most gamers spend more time complaining on reddit than actually playing games.

For those with newer RTX cards (3070 over here) it appears you can afford to copy his settings AND use MSAA X4 to see fps around 70 (in Valentine). Great combination of settings and powerful, clear Anti-Aliasing... hopefully this balance of graphical fidelity and performance lasts through other parts of the game

Having a rtx, it's much better to use DLDSR 2160p + DLSS on quality as antialiasing method. Much crispier image and little performance impact.

DANK Only reason GPUs got so overpriced is thanks to the fucking jobless bitcoin miner scuffle of 2015-2017.
It should get better, and now that AMD is finally shaping up to beat NVIDIA, we should be able to afford RTX 2070 Super (yes, 2070s, a 1080p gamer does not need RTX 2080Ti Supers) in 1-2 years.
