I have listened to this episode about four times now. When I feel very down, I keep returning to it. And invariably, I return with a renewed sense of gratitude, refreshing my skill to feel joy and realizing that I do, in fact, have enough. These teachings have gained a very concrete presence in my life and I am so grateful to all involved!

What a wonderful topic. A wise man has written that happiness is comprised of moving forward along a road towards a desired destination and as well, experiencing pleasure along the way. All Holy Persons such as Buddhas have taught of "The Middle Way". The concept of a path, a road, a way goes way back. Jesus used it in saying he was The Way, The Truth and The Life.

Thay is my greatest hero. There are others like Mr Rogers and some filmmakers, but these 2 really walked the walked.

You two really knocked it out of the park on this one! Very well articulated, very much appreciated. The point about the happiness of realizing you are on the path of happiness is oh so true. Be a happy life! 🙏

Hey guys, thanks for this podcast. I am binging on these so I stay away from the horrible news. I do have a question about your comments at 22:54 when talking about direction and purpose and meaning of life. In an earlier podcast you discussed the benefit of 'aimlessness' and kind of just letting the wind take you where it will (my interpretation). How does that sense of aimlessness square with having a purpose and a direction? Seems to me those concepts are a bit antithetical. Can you help me understand the nuances here? Thanks!

Dear friend, thank you for your comment. We'll add this question to our next q and a episode :) Hope this helps. Thank you for listening! 🙏

What if you’re sort of forced to live with toxic people? I know of some conditions where I could thrive and it would just be a simple live, but there are a few good people and many toxic people in my life.

Dear Annabella maybe you can connect with a sangha ( community) locally or online. If you go to the Plum Village website, you will find plenty of info on how to connect. I hope that helps. I found out about this because I felt the same :) Smiles and warm wishes.

Dear Annabella. The fact you are listening to this Podcast and have chosen to share your precious thoughts means you are already connected.Even this little podcast community is a community of friends. You are on the path Have courage.Take the next step. And perhaps actually go to Plum village if your health is good and if you can take the journey. Dear Annabelle, indeed, as Djinn kindly suggested, you can join a sangha or even start one. Have a look at this short blog post about starting or joining a sangha plumvillage.app/a-short-guide-to-joining-or-starting-a-sangha/ :) Hope this helps. 🙏

Thank you for being vulnerable in sharing this comment. 🙏
I struggle with this as well.
And I find that we are never without friends.
If we look very close at reality we may see that all things have potentiality to be a friend. Such as the tree in my backyard that gives me shade and such as the rock that I sit on that is right beneath the tree.
I also think there is misleading information about what enlightenment truly is.
There is a chance to find the source of awakening within. With this we can feel more fulfilled.
And we are all here for each other on this inward path.

@@jSpirituS7 Beautifully said. I am finding this way of connection and community, my soul’s preferred design. Once I let go of the collective understanding that community and connection require other people in present time & space, I felt an extraordinary wave of new influences and loving presences surrounding me, informing me, exchanging love and wisdom and comfort with me. Including other human energies from across the planet. It’s unfamiliar territory for most, however not new or unique.
      Many Blessings.
