    Oh my god this is genius. I've been blown away by your stuff on Instagram, and you have done some great straightforward freehand stuff, but this is such clever outside of the box thinking. I have to try it!

    Impressed with your no nonsense solutions to the result you want. I still tend to overthink stuff like that.

    Fantastic first video! Other tip on a spray effect - instead of a toothbrush, use a brush loaded with white and then slap it against a toothpick. Same result - no toothbrush sacrificed!

    In a future video I think it would be cool to do a review of your first 6 months in the hobby. What were the best tips you got, what resources did you find useful, how did you learn to get paint consistency right - that sort of thing! Keep up the good work.

      Spot on, as someone who has been out of the hobby-space a while and still only dipping my toe in it would help as I feel like I'm right back at the start again

    Welcome to TH-cam! Excited to see what you have planned. I myself have only been in the hobby about a year and think it would be great to see like a recap of what was most helpful to get you here and maybe some next plans/goals you want to achieve in the hobby. Best of luck with the new channel!

    I very rarely use Instagram, and really only to store pictures of my mini's. Today was the first time seeing one of your videos. Welcome to TH-cam!

    Another similar trick is once basecoated, do a solid coat of bright silver then use a scrunched up ball of cling film to texture. once dry do the usual candy coat of a transparent gloss coat and you have this really intense marbled candy coat. Alternatively if you use a shifter paint in place of the silver, you can get a pearlesent effect depending on the coat or even just go clear.

  • @HTFYamagata
    @HTFYamagata 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really interesting and fresh. And I immediately start thinking how to adapt this. For instance: If you had a gradient as base...could clear paint medium without any pigment work as your base layer and you add the dots on that? So the gradient would still be visible underneath?
    I guess I need to try this as soon as I have a chance!
    Thanks for sharing!

    I'd love to see you tackle painting an army and playing some.games with them....thats basically the journey most of us are on....that would also allow you tondo whatever random side line videos that come to mind while you're doing that. Also you have the same mannerisms as Villainelle from the tv series killing Eve, which is very cool👍

    Cool technique and a great result! Good job! One quick thing, the audio is very quiet, especially the talking head parts. Try to have the audio hitting between -6 and -3dbs for a better volume level.

    • @chaoticpainting1507
      @chaoticpainting1507 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i agree 100% the volume needs to be cranked up a bit to hear what you're saying... it would be nice if I didn't have to adjust my volume to hear what you're saying.. other than that though, great effect! I love it! Cheers
