My stylo is one of my favorite corals. I bought a skinny $20 stick that ballooned into a huge colony growing up to the surface of the water.
My stunner stings the hell out of anything 6" or less away from it. Almost killed an entire pocilopora, started to sting my red/orange monti cap so bad I had to rearrange the cap. I regret putting it where it is now. It kept getting knocked off the rocks by crabs and whatnot so I found this little crevice on a rock that sits dead center and high up in my tank. Fast forward a couple of months and it's 3x the size and encrusted all over the top of the rock. I'm pretty much planning on keeping it, trimming it when needed, and using it as a shelf to place frags on. A couple of strategically placed pieces of rubble and dome reef glue have saved the lives of the coral around it now so I figure I could continue that and just have a cool-looking shelf.

I love how your chromis hide in the pink hystrix. It reminds me of how these fish behave in the wild with acropora colony’s, but you never see that behavior in the aquarium. Great video Evan, thanks for sharing!

I like this video because it is similar to the Tank Spotlight videos which are my favorite. It's been awhile since the last videos, I know it's hard with Covid. I love seeing people's personal tanks that they put all of themselves into. It's very interesting to see them walk through every coral, piece of equipment, and fish, and hear them explain all of their decisions and methods. I just started May 2020 so those videos are very inspiring.

I love those types of corals, my aquarium is dominated by them, much easier to grow from frags to big colonies and make your aquarium look great. I try multiple times the imported from Indonesia or Australia sps’s but without success, they drive for 6 months until year and they are gone. I stopped wasting money and time on them and now only such great old timers or aquaculture. Awesome aquarium!

This is one of the best reef scapes to me I've seen by far. Much better than most of the high end reefs showcased on this and other youtube reefer channels. Why, because it doesn't have dozens and dozens of different corals growing in a patchwork of relatively small sizes. Reefs don't look like that in nature. They look more like this! As a diver who has seen some of the greatest reefs in the world in person, this is they kind of layout I want to build when I start keeping tanks again. Even in the largest of tanks, I think they look best when dominated by no more than half a dozen different corals that are grown out large. I wish more people would follow this philosophy.

Purple stylos are under rated. I know we all have a soft spot for caps, but orange caps have filled up my local reef stores and they cant give them away. Idaho grapes though are uncommon. Just my opinion, but maybe pull one of the front caps and start a couple different common milliporas.

Awesome video and tank I have a 94 gallon aquarium that's 5 months old and one day I will start adding corals but right now I'm waiting for my tank to grow up lol so far since August 23 when I did a water changes my parameters are ph 8.0, ammonia is always at 0PPM, n02 0ppm, n03 0ppm, MG 1290, CA 380, kh 10.5, phosphates 0.00ppm. And I 7 fish in the tank so I don't know if my tank parameters are low because I started fishless cycle with dry rocks

That’s a question that I have for years , why and where this High End corals came from ? That’s a beautiful tank with no HE whatsoever, in mho I don’t think is necessary to spend money in corals that are very easy to die or so call high end, great tank bud

Keeping the classics will help anyone have an awesome reef and avoid a lot of heartache and unnecessary expense.... setting up a tank with only fancy acro micro frags and wild LPS imports like euphillia... ui ui ui... might loose a few here and there and unfairly feel like a bad reefer or quit

My favorite corals are the ones that become classics of a particular area. For example, in my area there's not much of a coral scene but there's a particular RBTA clone that-and this is not an exaggeration-splits about once a week. You literally cannot get people to take them off your hands, because they've got 20 already! While I'm here, shameless plug for r/AffordableReefTank, a respite from the hype-dominated social media world and a place to discuss old school reefing methods that are accessible to anyone.
