Thanks for watching bud! Yes, some incredible stories of how this tank became. I just hope the Mrs keeps up with her promise for me to do something on this scale 😂
I’ve watched lots of videos on David Saxbys incredible home tank, and I’ve not seen him in such a jovial, relaxed and joking mood. A fantastic video on a true pioneer and legend of the hobby and not forgetting the tank itself and the tour around the incredible and astonishing setup backing every aspect of what’s been planned, developed and installed to maintain a true piece of nature in the home. It certainly gives you an appreciation of nature and all its glory for sure.✔️
@@johnbrand1893 thanks for watching buddy! Appreciate the feedback. I know this has been done many times but, I felt it needed to be done differently to capture the experience of seeing this and also David’s personality. The tank is just something else and I feel like seeing it in person has really made me appreciate it on a whole other level. Hopefully the video captures this and you too can enjoy this incredible tank for what it is! 🪸👊
What a utterly charming Gentleman Mr Saxby is, and both of you have done a wonderful job of videoing this and asking the right questions. This was a wonderful wonderful Aquarium. I could never muster suitable vocabulary on how impressive this setup is. I really am just utterly blown away.
David’s system is amazing. I had the opportunity to meet him in 2018 at the Macna in in Las Vegas. His knowledge of this industry is unparalleled. His years of experience shows in his detail.
David, I’m deeply grateful for your kind gesture in showing us your reef tank through these videos. People like you motivate us to continue improving to make the most of the wonderful energy this hobby can bring. 😁👍🏼🐠🐟
Thanks for a really good go-through of the master piece of a reef tank of Sir David Saxby.😃 It’s a different portrait of it than the ones that have been seen before. I’m sure we could spend years studying this setup and still find new thins every day. Thanks David as well for taking the time to do this. We never get enough out of it and out of you.
yeah I probably missed loads as i onl;y had a few hours to cover the tank but I really wanted to capture the meat and bones and of course David as a hobbiest coming up with the idea of this incredible aquarium! thanks for watching🪸
Good Stuff Yorkshire Reef! I got into corals when seeing Davids tank 20 years ago! I will always consider him GOAT... I am definately going to make a video about Davids older tanks but you getting an invite is a major flex! RESPECT!
thanks for watching buddy! awesome, I would love to see this, please let me know when you have this video ready. hahaha, I know right - i've convinced David to give me some frags next time for sharing all my tips with him 😉😂
Goodness gracious Mr Saxby is still at it? I remember being mesmerized by his tanks in 2009. It was a fully mature tank back then. Wow. Hat's off to him
I had kept a reef aquarium for a few years. So much machinery, electrical devices, top of the line lights just to keep them alive. Freshwater plant aquariums? A sponge filter and some LED lights and you are good to go! This is one the best if not the best reef tanks in the world gallon for gallon.
G,day from Sydney Australia. I knew a fish tank was an ecosystem, but it's astonishing how much intervention is needed. Definitely not self-sustaining, such as; * Filtration * Temperature * Flow rate * Chemistry * UV light * Fish nutrition and health * Maintenance 💧🐟🇦🇺
I'm surprised to see that he changed from using a calcium reactor to chemical dosing and getting 3x the growth previous that he never once mentioned what dosing system he now used, so what does he now use for such a vast improvement??
hi mate, thanks for watching! Yes David said he has changed over to chemical dosing which is Reef Zelements. You can see the vats in the sump which David doses from and also the labels on the dosing pumps which dose the main and trace elements. I love how David counteracts the negative impact of the nitrate reactor by also dosing sulphur - something I had not seen before! 🪸
Me to myself “worse thing that tank could ever have is a bobbit worm in it.” 5sec later “a bobbit worm had a meal there”. PTSD hits hard. Best of luck only way I got mine was tearing part the tank.
Hi mate, I didn't actually ask this but I will reach out to David to find out! It might be on the D&D website where they breakdown the set up of his aquarium 👊🏻
I’m so intrigued by the close loop systems, I’ve no idea given the depth of the tank how maintenance is done on this tank. I’m slowly starting to plan my forever tank and I want a closed loop system (but at the same time the threat of failure bulkhead terrifies me)…
I know what you mean, but this visit left me inspired and I even have given the tangs some lettuce since! Yes, we didn't really cover the maintenance - perhaps I need to convince David to watch my instagram shorts and convince him to let me do one on his system. 😂
thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback, i mostly used this when the noise level was higher from the bgn, hopefully you could still enjoy the video! 🪸
thanks for watching! The grading of this was the most accurate to really capture how this looks when the aquarium is viewed, no oversaturation or enhancing the colours 🪸 4K @ 60FPS is the most I can offer at the minute 😁
Mr. Saxby, Is Truly an Icon! You are the best!

@ Honestly would love that, I’m looking at a 1500l system and need a closed loop but info is so vague on them…
my god, would be easier to move to the ocean and take water from there. Insane amount of equipment and care required, god bless him
Estaria genial sustitulos de voz en español, saludos desde España
just the abyzz pumps alone are north of 3k a piece and he has like 12 or so. just unreal.
🔥🪸💯 reef God status
Hahaha! It is next level 🔥🪸🙌
Great video just wished you wouldn't have used a background music
Background music is nice but it’s making it really hard to hear the conversation.
thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback, i mostly used this when the noise level was higher from the bgn, hopefully you could still enjoy the video! 🪸
Such a big tank without using a calcium reactor🤷♂️
And he had the best from the best DELTEC TWINTECH.
I’m curious why the romaine lettuce
My god if he'd of said he had a mermaid I would of believed him.
WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT WHAT? 😂
nice video but please get a better camera or filter
