Jut got in with my 4 year old grandson and we have spent the last 3 hours picking blackberries, plums and apples, which we make into wild berry jam. Never heard of Wim berries or Mucky Mouth Pie before, as my grandson always calls them blueberries, so if that makes him happy lol. We went to a 3 day Space Rock Festival and Blues in Wales for a canny few years and loved it, till they changed the venue (and the country to England) and it was just not the same, we lasted one more year and never been back. I always feel better outside than I do sitting indoors, always feel refreshed and nice and chilled out, cheers Alan
They are called Bilberries as well , nowt better than getting kids outdoors when they are young , and great idea taking them picking and involved in the jam making process. That was the mixture of our alternative village disco: Gothic, Punk, Metal... and we had Rock. And the normal village people that came into cause you could sit in the tavern part of the disco. Ravers we had never. That mixture is lost with this place closed... sold... and became a residential. But the spirit lifes in the people who had been there through the many years.
It sounds like that was a great place you had , sad that it has gone. It is good the spirit remains with those people who went , over here some of the people who went to these alternative clubs have now organised a monthly goth/postpunk, alternative club-night called control , only monthly but a great night. Never heard about that type of berry before. I know I don’t like the American blueberries and they are not even close to ours (that grows in the Forrest). Nice mitt walk again... Awww, we didn’t have the ravers... we had cybergoth (those two was different types of music. Know some ravers tried copy the cybergoths outfits with less success. The berries are also called Billberries a bit sharper tasting than Blueberries and these are red on the inside , I had no problem with ravers as people I just wanted our clubs to stay alternative , playing alternative music because we didn't have many places. @@MrJud62 From Higher Swineshaw pick up the track towards Tintwhistle , first point is the Pennine bridleway bridge, cross that and up over the hill and down to your next point which is Arnfield farm , then head onto Arnfield lane and up through the metal gate on you left just before before the gamekeepers cottage.
