I did it today with the help of this video. To get the back off by yourself, you need the suction cup with the metal ring. I used a heat gun and a suction cup and got my wife to wedge a guitar pick in while I pulled it open. You need a good bit of heat. 110 centigrade is 230 fahrenheit so you really need gloves. Lay down a white hankerchief so if you drop a little screw you can see it. The 3 screws holding the motherboard are a bit shorter than the 18 chassis screws so keep them separate. The new port works great. Mine is 3 years old and just wore out.
Mine works barely only with the charging cable it came with. The rest are not even recognized, or gives me the message that I need to plug into something better.
@@lincolngould6414 What most people do not know is that all connectors have a life expectancy....mate/unmate cycles. I went the 30$ samsung wireless/portable charger route and it's more of an hassle, the phone heats up faster and it won't wireless charge if it's too hot, the portable charger won't charge unless you have it plugged into the wall with the Samsung fast charging brick, you can't use your phone while it's wirelessly charging or your phone will heat up and discharge whilst "charging". There was a reason why I stopped buying Notes after the Note4 these newer notes break to easily, not only does my charging port not work, but my cameras won't focus unless I use the Live Focus camera setting
