      I won an auction on eBay for a 128 GB Note 9 for $50!!! Such a steal, works just as good as my former Note 20 Ultra (cracked the screen). Main difference is it doesn't have 5G which is completely fine. I used to own a Note 8 (loved that phone), this note 9 looks so much like it.

      What do y'all think about the Note 9 vs the Note 10? I'm having battery issues with my Note 9 (would like more storage) but other than that nothing is honestly wrong with this phone lolol....I'm not tech hungry for the next NEW thing if the old thing still works. Any replies are greatly appreciated. Where are y'all getting your replacement batteries from...I def have a hair dryer and some makeshift prying tools lol.

    Great video. Instead of using heat to remove the battery adhesive, you can simply put a few drops of 90%+ isopropyl alcohol in the bottom corners and the top left corner of the battery container, tilt the phone around so the alcohol reaches most of the adhesive, wait 5 minutes and pry to remove the battery. This way, you have less chance of ruining your screen.

    Work flawless for me. Thank you very much. I just replaced a tired original 2018 battery of my Note9. The most critical part is the heating... it really requires about 1 min plus with the heat gun moving around the corners to do it magic. Hot to touch, the curved arounds and trying to pull the back at the same time is really a challenge until you start hearing the glue "melting"... if the pry then you slowly move it in between the back and the corners and the glue starts breaking very slowly. After that it was a breeze!!! Thank you again!!!!

      Don't buy "genuine" battery for a Note 9. Samsung stopped making these in 2019, so a genuine Battery is already 3 years old, or a cheap chinese fake battery. Get a known aftermarket Battery. Had this with my Note 4 (now Note 9 owner and 3 guesses why i am here). After 3 Years i bought a "genuine Samsung" Battery. Started to die after 8 Month, then i got an Anker Battery for it and it was still running well 2 years later when the Note 4 died.

    Thanks so much for this video, massive help! Battery swelled up...again, the 2nd time in 15-16 months from one of those Cell Phone FixIt shops, I wasn't about to drop another 50+ bucks on that again and just tackle it on my own. Everything was perfect in this video! I guess swelling made it easy to remove the back since the bottom, side was developing a gap already. No issues removing the swollen battery, placing in the new one. The ONLY aggravation I personally had was reconnecting the finger print scanner cable. I did not have the room like you had at 6:19. I have fat stubby fingers...so I'm sure that didn't help. 😆
    Anyway...new battery is charging now, hopefully it's a decent battery...we'll see! But I thank you again for this tutorial! Have a great summer.

    Great video. I changed my battery today and i used the adhesive sheet that followed the battery. One for the battery and one for the backside. But I am not sure I will expect it to be as waterproof as before:)

      @@namnta no i dont think so. And any app that can measure the battery capacity say 3400 mA. But its better then before. Battery should be 4000 mA.

      My note9 give around 2-4 hours. Still using the same original battery

    • @matsandersson6483
      @matsandersson6483 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@namnta its hard to say. But the app said 2900 mA. It really depends on how much is going on in the phone. But I still have to charge it a few times per day. But now when I changed the battery I don't care about it much. I charge it to 100%. It was about 20 to 30 usd so if it just last a year I am fine with that.

    Hi, great video! Thanks a lot!!
    - QUESTIONS:
    1- I followed your battery link to Amazon, but the battery is not a genuine Samsung like in your video! I still wasn't able to find a "Samsung" branded battery for the Note 9. Could you provide a link to get one like in your video?
    2- After replacing the battery, will the Note 9 loose the IP68 Rating, right?
    How and what can I do to keep it at the highest water & dust resistance possible level as before?
    Will the glue at edges glue again the rear cover just that easy?
    Please take into account that I'm very careful, but I don't work on phone service professionally, nor have professional equipment.
    Thank you very much once again!

    It's 2024 now and my note 9 still works great. My phone overheats now but this is because I started leaving it plugged in overnight to charge and I've destroyed my battery by overcharging. I've loved this phone since 2019 so I'm going to try this.

  • @carimpest
    @carimpest 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Quick fact not many of this tear down Channels mention but only people who repair phones know is that
    Once the battery is take it off from the phone its not useful anymore, why? Because in order to extract the battery you need to apply force and bend the battery which creates a reaction that makes the battery expand and it will start to swelling once is installed so keep in mind that if you need to extract the battery you yes or yes need a new battery to replace, the phone will not explode because Samsung batterys are in another level in terms of security but naturally will expand and the back glass would brake or not close properly

      The waterproofing will not be the same as the original one, but you can add a phone glue adhesive.

I was going to fix the front glass too, but I couldn't get one of the screws out to take the board off. It was really stuck. Any tips on getting it unstuck?
