There seems to be a nerve bundle for pigeons dead center of the chest and back that turns them off like a switch. When you hit that nerve bundle just right they simply fold with no flapping or twitching. You seem to know where that spot is. Solid shooting.
Thanks, mate 🙂 You're right, if you aim at the upper chest/lower neck, you hit the heart an lung area, and you also sever the spine, which makes for an instant kill.
Another great video my friend! That RTI P3. Is quite a Beast of a gun! I would prefer a 25 caliber, but I am amazed at the energy dump a 22 caliber has.

That's a lot of quality of life improvements on the P3. I sure hope it was as pleasant as it was deadly, because your shots were even more instantaneously deadly than usual 😝
So I noticed one thing about your headshots: when you hit, you know you've hit because the sky rat flaps and waggles straight in the opposite direction that it was last facing. Wonder if that's the energy transfer from the Hades to the head making the carcass spin around 🤔
Thanks, buddy 😊 To answer your question, it's not just the energy transfer - with the sudden brain death on pigeons there are those last impulses going down the nerves that cause all that flapping and rolling. That's how you know it's been a good head shot. The bad thing is all that extra movement scares the rest away but eventually they come back 😉
Hi Alex i don't know why your vids are always great to watch love the slow-mo shots,tracer shots, love the longer shorts, cat's are great but missed them today,I think the P2 looks better than the P3 just my opinion plus I don't like higher scope rail I always like to have my scope mounted closer to the barrel.All the best 👍
Hey, Darren, and thank you for your comment 😊 You're right, it's good to have the scope closer to the barrel, and that's what I said in the video too. The P-3 is the new gun, but by no means does it make the Prophet 2 irrelevant; no, the P-2 is still an awesome gun and it can make the same thing a P-3 does. That's why I intend to keep mine for now. Choosing one or the other is a matter of personal preference, I suppose.

beautiful video. I fell in love with this rifle. As soon as I finished watching your video I immediately placed the order for this p-3. I haven't decided on the optics yet. Would the one you see in the video be good to use at distances of 80/100 m?

The scope I used is suitable for distances longer than 80-100 meters 🙂 As a matter of fact, it's clearer than what you see in this video - the scope cam I was using doesn't do the scope justice.
If you're willing to spend more, I'd recommend the Continental lineup by the same brand. I have one of those and they're simply amazing.

Hi Alex, what a devastating combination of rifle and pellet. Skyrats have learnt not to come anywhere near my garden, although, from my CCTv cameras, they do come when I'm not around. The wife is more or less fully mobile now, so that's another hazard I've to contend with when trying to eliminate our main foe. Big Steve, East Yorkshire.

That sure is a nice new rifle you got going to look into a semi auto for myself I love my m3 impact but having a semi is nice nice shooting as usual could you tell me the model of your atlas bipod I want one thank you had to pause your video so I could get my brats off the grill and eat them while watching your video and wash them down with a few cold ones keep up the good work young man just like watching a good tv show
Thank you kindly, Sir 🙂 But the rifle is not a semi auto - I have semi autos and plenty of videos of me shooting those, but the P-3 is a single action air rifle.
As for the bipod, I think the exact model number is Bipod Atlas V8 BT46-LW17 PSR.

It's hard to say, Juan... I prefer the P-3, it has some advantages, but quite frankly, I think the P-2 is capable of achieving the same results.

The Hades work quite well on the wing rats, though my gun is tuned for the 25gn JSB KO's at 990fps If I shoot Hades through it without turning the power down they give a velocity of about 1,100 FPS you get the super sonic crack and very flat shooting
Yes, the super sonic crack is deal breaker for me, so I did tune the reg down all the way to about 80 bar.
I have a question what do u do with the pigeons after? Because I hunt these sky rats and feed them to the cats but they can’t eat them all, I love ur videos nice job

@@morfeas1132 .25, mate. Bucks the wind better. But abppwerful .22 with a heavy projectile will also cope well in rough weather.

what do u do with a dead ones ?
The dead ones I give to friends or cats. The dent was actually there before this shooting session, but those things that serve as a back stop will be replaced, so it's not a big deal.
I like the crop shot or the reverse on the back, but the head shot, if you are sure is the most humane, it just removes their brain, liquifies it, there is no way there is any pain, you removed the receptors.
Gerald, shots in the heart and lung area are also quick and humane - especially if you sever the spine, it's an instant lights out.
@@AirRifleActivities Agree if you sever the spine, I have seen many shots, not just yours, others too, where it takes a few to several seconds to fade away, Not really sure they are feeling pain, but…, anyway, the neck shot, the upper crop or the upper back for sure severe the spine, and it is 100% out, or the for sure one, the head shot.

Use 2 layers of carpet or heavy fabric separated by 100mm and backed by rubber mat and you can shoot it all day with no styrofoam crumbs or bounce backs

There were head shots in this video, Dave :) The last 7 or 8 of the shots. Perhaps you've missed those?
looks like somebody has missed a quite few shots that indented that vent chimney in multiple places i can see.......that is a lot of missed shots, i do not remember you showing the videos of your misses 😀
Pellets pass straight through, sometimes you can get 2 or 3 with a single shot and it barely slows the pellet down.
I do agree though, there is a fair bit of damage to the backstops, I was wondering if the owners mind about that.

There are pass throughs, yes. @ianc4901, thank you for stepping in and explaining. The managers know. The dents are from previous shooting sessions of mine at that place. They wouldn't have let me there again if they minded. They tell me those will be replaced at some point.
And no, I didn't miss a single shot that day - not at those close to medium range shots and with a high end PCP such as the P-3.
