    "He tortures me, you know. Every day, brother. Odin himself sees to it personally, and believe me, there is no end to his creativity. Every. Single. Day. This... this isn't living."
    Mimir spitting facts. There are fates worse than death. Staying stuck in the tree and getting tortured endlessly by the Aesir for knowledge is not really "living".
    If he gets reanimated, he gets to join Kratos and Atreus in their adventures and see the world again while offering them his wisdom (albeit he can't move on his own). If he dies and stays dead, he's free from all of it. It really is a "no-lose" situation as far as he's concerned.

    • @hamzasaeed1381
      @hamzasaeed1381 6 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I read somewhere that GOW's depiction is truer to the myths than Marvel's. Odin and all norse gods were more on the grey side. However, apparently the biggest liberty GOW took is in the depiction of Baldr who is pretty much regarded as norse Jesus. Can't complain though. Baldr makes a very compelling villain.

      Exactly what it sounded like? It's basically just a retelling of prometheus being bound to a giant rock and having his innards eaten every day by a big ass bird for making the mistake of pissing off Zeus. Same concept just different methods of torture each day.

    • @blueberrymcphuckerson9821
      @blueberrymcphuckerson9821 6 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Exactly what he means. Every single day, Odin stops by to personally inflict pain onto him in different ways. ""There is no end to his creativity." means that every time is a new original way to torture him: one day flaying, the next day ripping out nails, the 3rd day branding, and etc.

    • @dumazroy3462
      @dumazroy3462 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I would prefer Beerus the destroyer from Dragonball super who just destroys things because of what he is than the sadistic fearful hypocrite that Odin sounds like in terms of character. Let me just say that creative torture sounds really perverted though in this day, things such as cyber bullying where you don’t even have to show your face to the people you insult is the norm, tragic really... until someone can make humor out of it, like Mimir.
