"We did not part on good terms."
-Kratos, God of Understatements
"his head and his body did not part on good terms either. Lot of ripping and snapping"
At least he got better at it lol
@@ImADeity -Kratos, God of Too Much Information :p
Mimir started to ask about it, but figured it out mid sentence.
You gotta admit his decapitation techniques have improved immeasurably. xD
I like how Kratos actually said hello to Helios after he asked for one lol
Our Ghost of Sparta is learning to be polite hahahah
Yea and then ask about mimir’s whereabout
+50 points for that name, bro
Kratos humoring Helios was a sight to behold
Bro that name is hilarious 😂
“We did not part on good terms”
*ripped his damn head off and used it as a flashlight*
😂😂🤣
Mimir: "I'm glad he used an Axe to sever my head..."
Helios: "he tore my head off... WITH HIS HANDS!!!!!"
Better a flashlight than a fleshlight
could be worse
a fleshlight
Off screen Kratos used it as a fleshlight..
Yes i know what I said.
I still can't believe they brought back the same Helios voice actor from God of War 3. Nice move to the devs.
Definitely added to the nostalgia!
His name is Crispin freeman. He was one of the first voice actors i found out about when i was learning and getting interested in the craft. I knew he played helios in gow 3 (this was back after the franchise 'ended' for the first time) so when i heard that all too familiar voice i got so excited
That almost sounded like Cam Clarke. The voice of liquid snake
But couldn’t bring back old kratos smh
Too sad they didn’t bring tc carson back on the young kratos part
I like the small detail that as soon as Kratos realized Helios was hanging on his hip and picked him up, he IMMEDIATELY went for the Blades Of Chaos. No Axe. No Spear. Hell, not even just throwing him away. STRAIGHT TO THE BLADES
Never noticed that before, good catch bro!
Its his instinct i guess. The Blade sticked with him longer than the axe and spear. His instinct to fight a godlike being is reaching the blade. Habit.
Man hates the Greek Gods so much, he went straight for the Old Friend for bloodshed. They really got on his bad-side eternally
Short range Blades
Medium range or Big enemies Axe
Long range spear
Fun fact: the first time Crispin Freeman voiced Helios he asked them why all his lines are him just screaming. They casually told him that Kratos rips his head off and uses it as a lantern. His response? “Oh cool! Glad to be a part of God of War!”
Hahahaha that’s gold
That's my boy...
@@lordology4815 I think they actually have a clip of him saying it a con too
I also like how Helios doesn’t recall trying to have Kratos step into the flame of Olympus and have him killed by doing so.
I’ve been replaying been GoW3 and just got up to the part where he says that lol
the intent doesnt matter only the consequences
As much as I'd like it to be the real Helios, this is just Kratos' memory of him.
Because that is Valhalla not Helios himself.
Im sure he remembers, just meant it in a different way since he was trying to trick him into jumping into the flame
Mimir: What ever happened to that Other god Hermes?
Kratos: I De-Feeted Him.
Ayyyyy lol
Mimir: and poseidon?
Kratos i gave him two thumbs up.

Pretty much bro hahahah
Completely deserved

Atleast Kratos said hello
Hahahah he sure did!
It’s so unnatural hearing him say that lol
I love how they turned the joke everyone was saying about how "Helios was the first Mimir" and actually made it a real thing.
Santa Monica are legends for that lol
Actually if you want to be accurate, Medusa was, but semantics. Lol
@@mistydolphin2524 good point there hahahaha
In Kratos defense he's tried numerous times to get rid of the blades of Chaos but they've always found their way back to him, they're as much a curse as they are a blessing.
Facts!
I love how he pronounces Kraros's name, it's sounded so grudgful
All the Greek gods have that weird pronunciation of Kratos' name, though when Helios says it, he says it in such a sneering way!
Yeah, the lack of Kratos's name being called in the Norse games has been quite the contrast from the Greek games, given that everyone on Greece knew who he was and the gods love taunting him
@@lordology4815 Weird pronunciation? That's how it's always been.. and it's the right way, he's from Greece. Genuinely confused as to what's being referred to as weird lol
@@Bocchi-the-Rock_ it could possibly be my own perception because I pronounce Kratos differently to everyone else since I’m an Aussie! 🤙
Well, except Freya of course in GOW 2018 during final battle of Baldur,
I love that as soon as Kratos saw the opportunity to get rid of Helios he took it, I don't know why it made me laugh so much
@@WhitedibbaR one talking head is enough
Kratos really need to start bring some duck tape on his adventures to shut people up considering how many unsavory types he has unpleasure of having to listen to.
Good point lol
Old saying: Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.
Helios is voiced by Crispin Freeman. Some of you may know him as Itachi from Naruto
And Kaito from Lost Judgement
And Sundowner From MGR
And Firefly from Arkham Knight
And Alastair Duncan Not only voiced Mimir but also Voiced Senator Armstrong
Think he did Winston from overwatch too
Dont know him. Dont care
I didn't expect the blade of Olympus to come back
Neither did I bro, I was pleasantly surprised when Kratos pulled it out lol
Though I do wish its arrival was more story-significant than some random goons. That's why I think some redesigned Greek Gods would have been perfect as Valhalla-exclusive enemies.
@@FallenOne669 I reckon if they redesigned anymore enemies it definitely wouldn’t be a free DLC!
@@FallenOne669 I agree with this, something like this should've gotten the same treatment the Blades of Chaos did in 2018
Helios: "What are you doing Kratos? You mean to sacrifice me? Again?"
Yep lol hahahaha
21:02 "quiet, head." 💀
Helios can goad anyone to madness
This is true 😂
"And sometimes an ugly memory is the only thing keeping history from repeating itself!"
Eeeh, he's not wrong I suppose. :3
Facts!
But my favorite part is when Helios mentions kratos' oath to Ares and he still has the same blades of chaos he gave him as part of the oath.
Very true!
Well, a part of it is that he literally CAN'T get rid of them. If he tries to abandon them, they will mystically appear by his side whenever he stops. Only way he was able to leave them in the first game is because he stored, not abandoned them.
So even if he doesn't want to, he will perpetually have the blades.

The thing is the Greek Pantheon isn't completely dead. Artemis was never confirmed to have been killed during the Greek Saga games but her whereabouts are unknown.
In fact there are much more gods and demigods! Kratos may have killed all important figures but he didn't slay even a half of this pantheon!
Demeter, Apollo and Hestia as well. Would love to see Hestia as the ruler of the surviving gods if Kratos ever returned to Greece.
I don't remember Apollo or Artemis being particularly nasty to Kratos and doesn't Artemis give Kratos a weapon in GoW1 if I'm remembering correctly?
Aphrodite could be presumably alive
@@lordology4815 Yes Artemis gave Kratos a sword in GoW1. Apollo from my memory never appears in GoW lore.
1:12 wait, that's actually really good advice from Mimir
Mimir’s advice really starts to resonate more with Kratos in Ragnarok, he listens to him more frequently without him saying “quiet head”.
Ah, yes. Tyr, God of Mental Health and Therapy.
Hahahahah FACTS! 👌
Mimir "That sword isnt something full of terrible memories is it?"
Kratos: literally pulls out the sword Zeus used to kill him and his Spartans
And also that he impaled himself on
"What do you think?"
Proof that you don’t need to over explain when you’re trying to get your point across, Kratos is an absolute boss at that 😂👌
i'd say something about helios, but i can't blame him.
i'd probably be pissy too if someone ripped my head off.
🤷♂️🤫
That last dialogue is very chilling 😳
This DLC adds so many great pieces of dialogue that I had to put all of it together!
14:10 And THIS moment is when I realized that this isn't the real Helios. In GOW III, Helios was fiercely loyal to Zeus. Though we didn't see him long, he seemed like the typical kiss-ass that Zeus would've loved to have around. Helios insulting ANY of Zeus' kids (minus Kratos because he's an obvious exception) feels more like insulting Zeus because Zeus' bad traits passed down to his kids. And in my mind, Helios wouldn't do that.
Kratos ripped his head off and killed zeus, so if zeus found out in the afterlife, he probably wouldn't mind
I agree with both of your points, Helios was a kiss-ass but I would imagine in Valhalla he wouldn't really care about Zeus' Wrath.
Remember he was Loyal to Athena, and saved Kratos w her as well... but after she died protecting Zues from Kratos, he was left alone to kiss the next best ass...
And fate, in its infinite wisdom, relegated Helios to the one place where he could most effectively kiss Kratos’ ass.
@@SilverSpade92 literally 😂😂 the Norns have no chill whatsoever lol
That hello was so cold. Shit sounds like an intro for a villain story
Idk why but it always makes me smile lol, when I first played the DLC I was pulling an all nighter so I could capture the footage for the channel, and I yelled at my monitor when I realized who it was!
I'm glad they used the voice actor from God of war 3 for Helios. He did a phenomenal job!
(We should have been able to use his head as a flashlight here, cos man he is annoying)

Anyone ever thought of putting Helios, Mimir, and Nas'rah together in a same place?
I think Nas'rah would shocked Helios and Mimir regarding the amount of foul languages he could utter, and specifically directed at them, gods.
Nas'rah as in from Fear & Hunger? I would never have thought to put the 3 of them together lol that would be some funny stuff!

Lol bro doesn't miss neck day that's for sure.
please cast christopher judge in the live action god of war if there is one. black, white, green or purple. his voice is perfect and his presence in real life is perfect.
Personally I think Hollywood should keep their paws of our video game stories, as more often then not they poorly adapt these excellent stories and lose the intention of what the writers and characters are all about, but our boy Christopher Judge will always be Kratos.
The same way that Doug Cockle will always be Geralt of Rivia and Kevin Conroy will always be Batman!

3:30 Ah, sweet. The main theme with a melancholic feel
It still amazes me that this entire dlc was free.
Santa Monica and Larian out here putting all other devs to shame!
You know, Kratos may think him killing Helios was an injustice but in fact it wasn't. Helios didn't honor Kratos saving him from Atlas and Hypnos, he tried to decieve Kratos to step into Fire of Olympus and die. When his trick failed, he tried to blind Kratos with his sun powers. And he was annoying and pitiful. Helios deserved his death!
The only people who didn’t deserve to die in GoW3 were the mortals tbf especially those messed with by the gods
Hellos was sympathetic to Kratos after saving him in Chains of Olympus and even wanted to do something to ease his painful memories before the evils of Pandora's Box infected him in which he's no longer the same person.
Excellent points, the comments on this video make me appreciate the OG trilogy so much more and makes me real excited for when they finally get them over to the PS5!
I also like that certain creatures scare the gods
@@chinwo3460 understandable too since a lot of creatures and gods predate the Olympian’s and Norse like the primordials!

It's such a great addition to Ragnarök and makes me really hopeful for the series moving forward!

I don’t know what happened before between Helios and Kratos, but I just met Helios and I hate him too.😂
in the previous God of War game, God of War III, Kratos was on full revenge mode and went to kill all the Greek Gods, Helios was one of the Gods he murdered, Kratos literally ripped off his head and then carried it around to use as a flashlight, the Head of Helios had the ability to temporarily blind enemies in battle, and when used in the field, it revealed hidden things and places
And before God Of War 3 they had some history together but I forgot the details, def worth checking out
14:30 that's a good question 🤔
Helios is a savage but he points out Kratos’ flaws quite well, I think most of the Greek gods would.
It's mainly because Kratos can never abandon them. He can store them somewhere like he did in the first game, but those blade are connected to him. He has no choice but to permanently keep the blades.
In the comics, he tried leaving them, throwing them off of cliffs, submerging them, burying them, but they always came back as soon as he slept somewhere.
