    Scilly is heaven on earth. There’s nowhere better in good weather. Our favourite anchorages are The Cove between Gugh and St Agnes and St Helens Pool. Great video, brings back so many good memories of when we had our 2 dogs on board with us. Actually won a prize with a pic of them both on the bow of our dinghy going ashore in the Cove. Happy days.

    Plant at 4:44 is crocosmia (montbretia, pronounced mombreesha). Very common in hedgerows everywhere in Ireland and probably in the UK as well.

    We have done the Scillies 3 times in two boats from Portsmouth. Spot on video! It is really the Bermuda in the UK. The Gulf stream or NADC brings warm water up from the gulf of Mexico making it a frost free paradice in the Atlantic. Packed with history, The Scilly isles great maritime disaster was the catalyst and inspiration for Harrison's marine chronometers and the search for Longitude. Accurate timekeeping eventually became the basis of modern GPS! Wonderful flora and fauna, coral beaches, sandy shores. Lovely people. It's one for the bucket list for any sailor!!! Sail Safe Guys, Ant, Cid & the pooch crew.

    • @CadohaAdventures
      @CadohaAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that's certainly filled in some blanks in my maritime/Scilly knowledge! It's amazing to think how far the Gulf Stream covers, too?! 😬😳😳😳

    Great video, I love the Isles of Scilly - been many times. I used to fly down, unfortunately I sold the aircraft...
    At 5:01 its Crocosmia, it grows anywhere on mainland UK, got some in my garden in Yorkshire :)
    At Spring tides low water you can walk between Bryher & Tresco, me & my Bro did it :)

    Great video from a stunning location, thank you. Napoleon was actually 5'6" tall, where he came from, a little village in Corseca still used feet and inches, but 13 inches to the foot. By their measure, he was 5'3", hence all the talk of him being small, as I'm 6'4" his real height was still small to me.

    I love the isles of Scilly . Lived on St Martin's during the 1980s . Had to move back to the main land due to having a series of strokes in my 20s . I want to go back and visit . Even thought of buying a boat but my wife don't like the Idea. I had ideas of setting off from Porthcawl where I live go around lands end stay at Penzance and wait for ideal weather to go the the isles ? . Maybe next year .

    For all the flak that American beer gets, it's surprising to see one of the... least interesting beers in the US, Budweiser, for sale overseas. I would have to assume that English Budweiser has to be better than normal Budweiser. It's one of the major reasons why beer is referred to as "piss water".
