Great post guys what a jewel we have on the south west coast. And it looks like your very settled in to the you tube life, love the way you pimp the misses out ….. she likes it !
I don't want to upset anyone but, as a keen beekeeper, it is worth knowing that the average colony has a summer population of around 50,000 bees but that drops to 10,000 after winter (British type climate). So a loss of 40k bees per colony per year is normal. In summer bees work their butts off and live for 6 weeks before dieing of exhaustion for the good of the colony. Bees born in October may last for 6 months, mainly by doing very little. Honeybees are very well looked after by people like me, and many millions of others; bumblebees less so. Look after them, and other pollinators.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wisdom with us all. I love that every day is very much still a school day 😁⛵️ Happy new year to you. 🎉🥂⛵️

Stick with the truckers hitch. A ratchet strap will simply rust up, even if it claims to be stainless as there will be some parts that just aren’t. For the hitch, the type of line makes all the difference. I use 3/8” dyneema single braid, which is upper slippery but binds up perfectly on the loop and releases on the reverse without any issues. A couple of half hitches with a loop for quick release is all you need. I’ve cut my line the perfect lunch just for the dinghy so I only have the amount of line I need. It does mean carrying a separate single purpose line, but works well for me. In a pinch I can repurpose this for other needs. Just found you guys and really enjoyed. Thanks 🙏.
We're in the scillies every summer, but you still show me places we haven't been, so thanks for that. Best British sailing vloggers at the mo, hands down.

To everyone, early Happy New Year. To Cadoha, thanks for taking me (virtually) to the beautiful Scilly Isles. The Hank bladder massage was slightly disconcerting😳. Epic rock photo. 2021 progress report...Hank still won’t do his biz on the boat. Carly still goes on long country walks across hill, rock and dale in flip flops and D’s dinghy rowing technique is still backwards😉. Beautiful vids.
Happy New Year! I have to say boat dogs are more spoiled than we would like to admit. We have TOTALLY sung the "let it go" song to our dog, whilst massaging her bladder. haha. so funny. Oona lived till 16 and no doubt in our minds that our sailing adventures enriched her life... along with ours ten fold. Also our foster lost it when he heard Hank barking ;)

I used the trucker’s hitch all the time to lash down my life raft on the coach roof. As long as the bight is generous enough not to flip it works very well.

We anchored right outside Falmouth town quay at the end of the video and so it took two minutes to take Hank to shore. However we prefer the other side of the river where anchoring is free, and there’s more room for Hank to run around also.

Good Nz morning. I've just discovered your channel and like what I see...so have subscribed. In a previous life I used to have a Hartley Golden Cowrie in ferrocement. Allegedly able to bounce of reefs. Thankfully I've never had to test out that theory. But now having seen 75 summers, I'm quite happy to let youngish people take me with them around the world through their vlogs. Btw I didn't pick up your names sorry. Can't keep saying "hey you." eh.? Have enjoyed your presentation, so looking forward to further episodes. Oh yes, if you want to go somewhere slightly warmer, look no further than Nz. My beer fridge will be full too. Until next time, take care guys. Atb from down under.
Get some rachet straps from one of the discount supermarkets next time they are on offer. For rock spotting underwater polarised lenses give you a better chance same on your cameras or drones for Fog and mist go for a pair of light sodium yellow tinted blue blocker lensed glasses🤓...and if your feeling a touch SAD on a winters day then pop them on for an hour or two of attitude readjustment.😉 Mola mola are some of the most bizzar fish they eat mostly jellyfish ... So like leatherback turtles they are vunerable to ingesting floating plastic bags.. They also produce tens of millions of eggs. Happy new year 🤞🏼🇬🇧🎆
Tip with Hank, when on shore start taking treats with you, his favorite treats or new favorite treats (bacon/cheese). He only gets those treats when he is on shore, the moment he goes pee (use a word like peetime/weetime or whatever you like), give him the treat and lots of praise, like he did something amazing, do the same with the poo. Do not miss an opportunity, within six months you will be able to get him to do his business on board. You can the select a spot on board where you want him to do his business, walk him there and use the keyword, if he goes, use lots of praise and treats. If he doesn't, keep repeating step one, you can test this on land before trying it on deck as well, if he goes on land with the keyword you can transition it to on deck. Vizla's are super smart and does amazing with training quite quickly. Hope this helps.
Have really enjoyed the series on the Scillies. Did not know that this piece of paradise existed in the British Isles. Next visit to UK….? Also love your music selection, exactly what I like to listen to. Happy New Year 🥳 best in 2022.
Great intro and fab footage as always. You have had a blast in the Scillies but onwards to the next adventure. Where are you spending the winter? I saw you were mentioned by Mads and Ava so not sure if you are back in the Solent. Hope you had a great Xmas and here’s to a great year of sailing in 2022. Andy UK
Hey Andy. The Scillies were (are) amazing and we still only saw a tiny fraction of what was there to explore. We’re back in the Solent now, working full time jobs, saving the pennies and repairing Cadoha. I think the next chapter of the adventure is going to revolve more around still visiting these must see places, but now actually trying to live self sustainable lives, ie, can we feed ourselves from the sea and land as well as produce enough power along the way, you know, just in case the world gets a bit more crazy.
I enjoyed your cruise and hiking views around Scilly. Would appreciate some numbering or lettering of your episodes to help me know where I am in your voyages.
Whatever we can find, to be honest. We've worked in boat yards, restaurants, retail shops, boat builders, hull scrapper and painters, garden fence building, you name it, we'll do it 😬🙏🏼
Hope you guys had a great Christmas and wish you a fantastic new year looking forward to watching you adventures. Just a quick question As a dinghy sailor that would love to move into cruising when I am to old or unfit to sail dinghies have you guys ever tried sailing a dinghy?
Great video and the cheeky Carley shots!😎 I guess you are both land lubbers now and working to fund next year. Do you have plans to perhaps do this full time in the sun? The vids are getting better and better by the way.
Yes we do, we have so many plans now and we’re really excited about all of them. I think we have some more amazing places to explore here still, plus we’re teaming up with some great people from a couple of local TH-cam channels to help us really level up our Hunter gathering game. We also have more plans for Cadoha to really turn her into a ‘just in case’ total survival machine over the next two years also 😁🙏⛵️

I was looking for the same
Totally missed that, but if you haven’t found the ninja I’ve now put a link in the description for you. 👌🏼⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures cannot find it on amazon, if you have a link would love it
Merry new year 🥂🍾
Love your channel where did you anchor when you took Hank for a wee after leaving scilly and how long did it take you please.
We anchored right outside Falmouth town quay at the end of the video and so it took two minutes to take Hank to shore. However we prefer the other side of the river where anchoring is free, and there’s more room for Hank to run around also.
@@CadohaAdventures thanks 😊
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year (or it nearly is in Bhutan!) Thanks for a great year of video’s - The Scillies look lovely, we will have to go someday, fair winds ⛵️
σουπερ !!
I understand Hank i can never go when people are watching :)
It’s just too undignified for him 🥺
Good Nz morning.
Hello there and welcome aboard. Our names are CArly DOminic and HAnk. It’s be lovely to make it to New Zealand one day, it looks so perfect there. ⛵️
Get some rachet straps from one of the discount supermarkets next time they are on offer.
For rock spotting underwater polarised lenses give you a better chance same on your cameras or drones for Fog and mist go for a pair of light sodium yellow tinted blue blocker lensed glasses🤓...and if your feeling a touch SAD on a winters day then pop them on for an hour or two of attitude readjustment.😉
Mola mola are some of the most bizzar fish they eat mostly jellyfish ... So like leatherback turtles they are vunerable to ingesting floating plastic bags..
They also produce tens of millions of eggs.
Happy new year 🤞🏼🇬🇧🎆
Can't believe Kylie is wearing flip flops while walking lol X
Happy new year
Have really enjoyed the series on the Scillies. Did not know that this piece of paradise existed in the British Isles.
Next visit to UK….? Also love your music selection, exactly what I like to listen to. Happy New Year 🥳 best in 2022.
Half of these places surprised us too, glad you enjoy the music also. Have a great new year 🎉🥂⛵️
Great intro and fab footage as always.
Happy New year, to all backwards rowers
I enjoyed your cruise and hiking views around Scilly. Would appreciate some numbering or lettering of your episodes to help me know where I am in your voyages.
Hi guys what types of jobs do you do in the winter ???
Whatever we can find, to be honest. We've worked in boat yards, restaurants, retail shops, boat builders, hull scrapper and painters, garden fence building, you name it, we'll do it 😬🙏🏼
😎😎😎🥰
Do you know whether the ketch in the previous vlog was refloated?
We heard (second hand) that they managed to refloat her and get her over to the island of St Mary’s. That’s all we know though.
Hope you guys had a great Christmas and wish you a fantastic new year looking forward to watching you adventures. Just a quick question As a dinghy sailor that would love to move into cruising when I am to old or unfit to sail dinghies have you guys ever tried sailing a dinghy?
No, never, but I would actually love to give it a go. 😁⛵️⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures I highly recommend. Might make a good vlog too.
Hi both I live in Scilly and also have a vizsla so next year if you sail over again we could meet up so they can do zoomies !!! happy new year.
I don’t suppose you happen to live on the island of St Martins do you?
@@CadohaAdventures no we are on St Marys - anything I can help with just ask.
Great video and the cheeky Carley shots!😎
I guess you are both land lubbers now and working to fund next year.
