    Great video! We are adding a stock tank pool to our Airstream rental in Texas - so finding this video and hearing you mention Airstreams was fun! Debating hydrogen peroxide in a pool that would be used by guests. Do your kids rinse off before they get in, and how dirty does it look over time? Thanks so much!

    • @SteadyStreaminCashios
      @SteadyStreaminCashios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, we make sure feet are clean and free of debris/grass before they get in. The hydrogen peroxide has worked well for us. It has been hard to find since it was used a lot during 2020 for medical reasons. We also purchased a small Ryobi pool vacuum to keep it clean. It has worked well for us. Good luck with the Airstream rental, that sounds super fun!

    Curious how cleaning/changing the filter is going. We've got an inflatable one and are looking to take the filter to a stock tank, but the inlet and outlet valves have stoppers to keep the water in while doing pump maintenance. I really like the setup here though, and am curious how you keep the water in while working on the pump and filter. Thanks for sharing!

    • @SteadyStreaminCashios
      @SteadyStreaminCashios  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So we have some pine trees close by and it’s pretty windy at times where we live. I change the filter about every 2 weeks just because it gets clogged a bit and you can tell when the valve doesn’t push water out as hard as it should.

    • @le8026
      @le8026 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My solution to clean the filter. Lift the Intex filter pump up just above the level of the inflow water line (the outflow line will be below the inflow line, so no problem there). I set the little Intex pump on a table next to the pool. My table has a slight edge on it, so it catches the edge of the pump, and the pump stays right there solid while I open it, clean the filter with the water hose, and put the filter back in, tighten up, place the filter pump back on the patio. Done. You might want someone to hold the filter pump on your table so it doesn't fall off while you clean the filter. Another workaround to make that Intex pump limp along a little longer. My Intex 300 gph has lasted four seasons, but I think some impellers are broken so now I have to tap the pump on the patio to shake the broken impellers to the bottom of the impeller casing so they are out of the way of the existing impellers. I haven't been able to buy an Intex pump this season - China's production stopped for quite a long time.

    Would you mind explaining why you put the intake and output right on top or each other? In every other stock tank pool tutorial I’ve seen them separate them, putting a hose on each side (opposite directions) the same way they are installed on intex above ground pools . Thanks! Great video! We are gonna do hydrogen perioxide.

    • @SteadyStreaminCashios
      @SteadyStreaminCashios  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw no problem in having them one above the other. I just knew the hoses couldn’t be kinked and needed to be stretched out. We have not had any problems with the pool as of yet. The hydrogen peroxide has worked wonderfully as well! Good luck with yours! And thanks for watching!

    • @SteadyStreaminCashios
      @SteadyStreaminCashios  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I do still have the vacuum. It was an easy buy for me as I already had other Ryobi battery tools. But for the size of the pool it works great. If I let the pool go too long it might take a few rounds of dumping and going back at it. But the battery lasts a long time and it seems to be holding up well! Thanks for watching! And I purchased online at HomeDepot

      Hey, in the description below there’s a website named “hunker” that mentions how to alter Ph and about peroxide. And as far as the chlorine being completely gone I am not sure, but I don’t see what peroxide couldn’t help

    • @monicamalave8359

      How do you figure out how much Borax and/or baking soda you need to add to adjust the pH? I set up mine used it one day and the next it was already very cloudy and the pH levels are too high. I put chlorine tablets the second day of having it, not sure if that messed it up or what. Would like to try your alternative.

    • @monicamalave8359
      @monicamalave8359 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I read the article but it doesn't say how to go about switching from chlorine to this alternative. I'm currently also using chlorine and would like to switch. Let me know what works for you as far as switching right away or waiting until the chlorine dissolves and maybe the levels show none...
